Through our China on Campus initiative, Turning Point USA is highlighting the infiltration of our educational institutions and halting the Chinese government in its tracks. We will locate, identify, and expose every school and professor that receives funding from the Chinese government. Michigan State University

<a href="https://education.msu.edu/te/PhD/Whos-Who/Doctoral-Students/">Alba Lamar </a>is a graduate student and instructor at Michigan State University. In a class prior to Thanksgiving 2016, Lamar taught students how to argue with conservative relatives about issues such as illegal immigration, refugees, and the Dakota Access Pipeline. Lamar also mocked Christians for not supporting taking in Middle Eastern refugees and said conservatives often come to their views through fear.

<a href="http://www.english.msu.edu/people/faculty/william-penn/">William Penn</a> teaches in the Creative Writing Program at Michigan State University. Penn was recorded complaining in one of his creative writing classes about “dead white Republicans” who “raped his country.” As a student videotaped his rant, Penn antagonized students and asked, “You look like you’re frowning. Are you frowning?”.

Lynn Paine is the Director of the Confucius Institute at Michigan State University in addition to serving as the Dean for International Studies in the College of Education.

<a href="http://steinhardt.nyu.edu/faculty/Mark_Crispin_Miller">Dr. Mark Crispin Miller</a>, a professor at New York University warned that President Bush was spreading propaganda in order to form a theocracy in the United States. He also compared Bush to Hitler, saying “All the major war-drives in modern history&#8230; in Germany, in the Soviet Union, and in the Middle East &#8212; have been impelled by people who believed that they were at risk, that they were being persecuted, that they faced annihilation. Hitler actually believed that &#8216;world Jewry&#8217; threatened Germany, and that his bloody enterprise was a means of self-defense against the Jews. We know all too well that al-Qaeda&#8217;s people universally regard the Jews and Christians as plotting to wipe out Islam. And the Christo-fascist types now in control of the United States believe that they&#8217;re the victims of non-Christians.&#8221;

<a href="http://www.med.nyu.edu/pophealth/faculty/caplaa01">Dr. Arthur Caplan</a> is a Distinguished Professor of Bioethics at New York University. Caplan argued in  2015 that Trump’s tactics for gaining support were just like Hitler’s! Caplan argued that Trump’s immigration plan “should be viewed in the repugnant tradition of Hitler.” He told Campus Reform “The greatest danger is that a man willing to use racism to gain political support gets elected and then shapes his policies on poverty, immigration, criminal justice, and jobs on the basis of his blatantly and dangerous racist views.” Ironically, Caplan previously criticized people who used the Nazi analogy in bioethics debates.

<a href="http://gallatin.nyu.edu/people/faculty/flr207.html">Dr. Frank Roberts</a>, a professor at New York University, warned of “Jewish elites” controlling the media, a favorite trope of anti-Semites.  He tweeted “Its crucial for the public to realize that NBC/MSNBC,The NYTimes,US News &amp; World Report, &amp; the NY Daily News are all owned by Jewish elites” and “Speaking out against Israel's massacre &amp; Jewish elites' monopoly of the American free press is not anti-Semitic. #Gaza, #Flotilla, #OilSpill.”

<a href="https://as.nyu.edu/content/nyu-as/as/faculty/ulrich-c-baer.html">Dr. Ulrich Baer</a> is a Professor of Comparative Literature at New York University. He wrote an editorial in the New York Times supporting the suppression of free speech on college campuses. He claimed "The idea of freedom of speech does not mean a blanket permission to say anything anybody thinks. It means balancing the inherent value of a given view with the obligation to ensure that other members of a given community can participate in discourse as fully recognized members of that community."

<a href="https://gallatin.nyu.edu/people/faculty/amh20.html">Amin Husain</a> is a part-time faculty member at New York University and the Pratt Institute. According to the university’s website, Husain’s work focuses on “resistance and liberation, movement generated theory and practice.” 

Husain is also confounded and directs the NYC-based activist group, “<a href="https://decolonizethisplace.org/">Decolonize This Place</a>” (DTP).  According to their website, DTP events center around “Indigenous Struggle, Black Liberation, Free Palestine, Global Wage Workers, and De-Gentrification.”

Husain and DTP are known for their extreme rhetoric and aggressive confrontations with law enforcement. Husain and DTP utilize ANTIFA style-tactics during protests. The <a href="https://decolonizethisplace.org/">homepage</a> of DTP regularly features videos of burning police vehicles. 

Prior to the Museum of Natural History’s decision to remove their statue of Theodore Roosevelt, Husain joined a chorus of activists demanding that the statue be removed. DTP itself <a href="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5c5e0c57d86cc9226827c754/t/5ee7ad184833d0007a2078fd/1592241433767/How+To+Take+Down+A+Monument_Poster.jpg">posted</a> a detailed graphic with instructions on toppling statues. 

In January, DTP posted the following graphic for an upcoming <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=14391">protest</a> against the NYP. The damage from the protests led by Husain resulted in 13 arrests and over $100,000 in <a href="https://nypost.com/2020/02/15/nyu-professor-founded-anarchist-group-that-attacked-subways-last-month/">damages</a> to the NYC subway system.

As a member of NYC Solidarity With Palestine, Husain is known for using his position to entwine his anti-police and anti-Israel views. Husain projected his radicalism at the June “No To Annexation” rally, hosted by the anti-Israel group <a href="https://www.wolpalestine.com/about">Within Our Lifetimes</a>. 

As a featured speaker, Husain addressed the assembled crowd, declaring:  “The police that are around us are not our friends. You should not speak to them. They are our enemy. They are an impediment to the liberation of Palestine…..When I saw that precinct burn, I thought I was closer to Palestine. When I see an NYPD cop car burn - I say we are waking up a revolutionary country.” 

At an Al-Quds Day rally in 2016, Husain spoke <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1lhMCj4ESw&amp;feature=youtu.be&amp;t=325">glowingly</a> of Islamic Jihadhists:  “(We are) proud Muslims fighting for justice, and in all the ways possible, and yes, jihadis, jihadis in all the ways possible.”

<a href="https://education.temple.edu/about/faculty-staff/marc-lamont-hill-marchill">Marc Lamont Hill</a> is a Professor of Media Studies and Production and of Policy, Organizational, and Leadership Studies at Temple University.
In 2018, Marc Lamont Hill was <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/29/media/marc-lamont-hill-cnn/index.html">fired</a> by CNN for his anti-Israel remarks. Speaking before the UN, Hill called for a &#8220;free Palestine from the river to the sea, &#8221; which are sentiments widely understood as a call for the elimination of the state of Israel and replacement with an Arab state from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.
Hill was previously under fire for his relationship with the open anti-Semite and Nation of Islam leader, Louis Farrakhan. He has repeatedly <a href="https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/dec/18/marc-lamont-hill-stands-brother-farrakhan-we-shoul/">refused</a> to condemn Farrakhan, stating, 
“Minister <a href="https://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/louis-farrakhan/">Farrakhan</a> is my brother. The idea that we have to renounce him, denounce him, throw him away … in the black tradition, I ain’t got the luxury of throwing people who love us away. I ain’t got the luxury of taking people who come out of traditions that have saved us and cleaned us and throw them away. We can’t do that. We shouldn’t do that.”

Temple University

<a href="https://sites.temple.edu/josephschwartz/">Dr. Joseph Schwartz</a>, a Professor of Political Science at Temple University, took over a College Republican discussion with a representative from Pennsylvania Right to Work Defense and Education Foundation. He and some of his students insulted the speaker and accused him of racism. Schwartz then exclaimed, “Oh come on, f*****g a--. I believe in the religion of foul language.”

<a href="https://www.temple.edu/about/faculty-staff/sara-goldrick-rab-tug64840">Dr. Sara Goldrick-Rab</a>, a Professor of Policy, Organizational, and Leadership Studies at Temple University, took to Twitter to compare Republican governor Scott Walker to Hitler. Her tweet said “My grandfather, a psychologist, just walked me through the similarities between Walker and Hitler. There are so many- it’s terrifying”. According to Campus Reform, the tweets followed a contentious battle over budgets and policy changes for the University of Wisconsin system.

<a href="https://www.wm.edu/sites/dhp/faculty/ciccariello-maher-george.php">Dr. George Ciccariello-Maher</a> is a Visiting Scholar of Decolonizing Humanities and Modern Languages and Literatures at the College of William and Mary. He previously taught in the Department of History and Politics at Drexel University.

From the College of William and Mary's website, his work at the Decolonizing Humanities Project is <a href="https://www.wm.edu/sites/dhp/decoloniality/index.php">described</a> as exploring, “how colonization, modernity, capitalism, and, most recently, neoliberalism has displaced an array of modes of living, thinking and being.  Decoloniality reveals “the dark side of modernity” and how it is built “on the backs” of “others.”

Ciccarello first came to notoriety for his racially inflammatory statements on twitter. On Christmas of 2016, he <a href="https://www.inquirer.com/philly/news/Drexel-officials-Professor-George-Ciccariello-Mahers-White-Genocide-tweet-was-utterly-reprehensible.html">tweeted</a> out,

“All I want for Christmas is White Genocide,”

and,

“To clarify: when the whites were massacred during the Haitian Revolution, that was a  good thing indeed.”

He also tweeted out,

“Some guy gave up his first-class seat for a uniformed soldier. People are thanking him. I’m trying not to vomit or yell about Mosul.”

When Ciccariello was confronted by <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndkvgmGIQHQ">Tucker Carlson</a> over his tweets, he only proceeded to double-down. In the following exchange, he defended the academic veracity of his tweets by claiming, “performance art is scholarship.”

Ciccariello doesn’t shy away from utilizing violence to accomplish his radical beliefs. In an op-ed for <a href="https://www.salon.com/2015/05/04/riots_work_wolf_blitzer_and_the_washington_post_completely_missed_the_real_lesson_from_baltimore/">Salon</a>, he praised the riots that had engulfed Baltimore in 2015 in an article titled “Riots Work.” He wrote, “without the threat of insurgency in the streets, no charges would ever have been brought in the murder of Freddie Gray.” Obviously not a proponent of police, Ciccariello openly <a href="https://www.salon.com/2015/04/24/we_must_disband_the_police_body_cameras_arent_enough_only_radical_change_will_stop_cops_who_kill/">advocates</a> for the abolishment of police forces, describing them as, “originally slavecatchers.”

When not calling for the disbandment of our law enforcement, Ciccariello is an ardent defender of the socialist regime in Venezuela. He regularly <a href="https://www.counterpunch.org/2013/04/12/thatcher-is-dead-long-live-chavez/">praises</a> Hugo Chavez and has bizarrely <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhYz1owM-uA&amp;feature=youtu.be">claimed</a> that Venezuela does not have corrupt elections.

Ciccariello doesn’t shy away from violent groups as well. In order to fight white-nationalism, Ciccarello called on Americans to embrace the radical group ANTIFA in an interview with <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTv_hqjrmi8&amp;feature=youtu.be">Democracy Now</a> following the El Paso mass shooting. Although committed by a stated white nationalist, in the same interview Ciccariello placed the blame on Donald Trump for the deaths, claiming that his rhetoric on immigrants inspired the shooter’s rampage.  Ciccariello made similar accusations in a prior <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTv_hqjrmi8&amp;feature=youtu.be">interview</a> about the Texas Church Massacre, alluding that “whiteness” and Trump’s stoking of white victimhood was to blame for the murders.

<a href="https://education.utexas.edu/faculty/jennifer_adair">Dr. Jennifer Adair</a> is an Associate Professor at the University of Texas, Austin. Dr. Adair proposed indoctrinating children as young as kindergarten in racial issues, in order to ‘prevent another Ferguson.&#8217; One proposed project involved having the students make protest signs about racial injustice or other art projects about school integration or bus boycotts. Adair and the other professors working with her drew heavily from the philosophy of radical historian Howard Zinn in their effort.

Dr. Vincent was Vice-President for Diversity and Community Engagement at the University of Texas-Austin. On two separate occasions, he condemned an affirmative action bake sale as "demeaning" and "deplorable". Leaving to assume the role of President of Hobart and William Smith Colleges, he later <a href="https://www.jbhe.com/2018/04/gregory-vincent-resigns-as-president-of-hobart-and-william-smith-colleges/">resigned</a> after allegations arose that he plagiarized his doctoral dissertation.

<a href="http://liberalarts.utexas.edu/history/faculty/profile.php?id=jn324">Dr. Joan Neuberger</a>, a professor at University of Texas-Austin led anti-campus carry efforts, including a petition to bar students who conceal carry from entering classrooms, in violation of Texas law. A change.org petition organized by the same group said, “WE OPPOSE GUNS IN OUR CLASSROOMS AS A DIRECT ASSAULT ON OUR FREE SPEECH RIGHTS.” Despite her proclamations about the dangers of guns, Neuberger is not actually a statistician or criminal justice professor, but a Russian history professor.

<a href="http://www.utexas.edu/cola/rs/faculty/profile.php?id=jt27">Dr. John Traphagan</a> is a Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Texas, Austin. A Campus Reform article states, "In a column for the Dallas Morning News, University of Texas at Austin professor John Traphagan said Americans are 'unable to handle' gun ownership. According to Traphagan, the U.S. should curtail or eliminate the ability to purchase guns and 'prohibit many forms of gun ownership.'"

<a href="http://journalism.utexas.edu/faculty/robert-jensen">Dr. Robert Jensen</a> is a Professor of Journalism at the University of Texas, Austin. In an essay on a social justice website, Jensen argued that rape is part of the larger violent, patriarchy. He told Campus Reform that, “I don’t believe there will be any serious progress toward eliminating men’s violence against women if we do not address the toxic notions about masculinity in patriarchy—masculinity understood as rooted in control, conquest, aggression.” Jensen also attacked a major anti-sexual assault group for blaming the perpetrators for rape, instead of focusing on the patriarchal culture as the main cause.

<a href="https://liberalarts.utexas.edu/english/faculty/sas347">Snehal Shingavi</a> is an Associate Professor of English at the University of Texas, Austin. 

While teaching at the University of California, Berkeley, Shingavi co-founded the anti-Israel group <a href="https://canarymission.org/organization/sjp">Students for Justice in Palestine</a> (SJP) with Professor Hatem Bazian.  SJP is known for its vitriolic campaigns and aggressively confronting Jewish and pro-Israel students on campus. They are also known for their active role in Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaigns on university campuses.

 Snehal first generated controversy at UC Berkeley in 2002 for his <a href="https://www.meforum.org/campus-watch/7789/hardball-interview-with-snehal-shingavi">course</a>, "The Politics and Poetics of Palestinian Resistance." The course description alleged that Israel has “systematically displaced, killed and maimed millions of Palestinian people.” 

The course also all, but outright barred conservative students from attending: “This class takes as its starting point the right of Palestinians to fight for their own self-determination. Conservative thinkers are encouraged to seek other sections.”

Now teaching at UT Austin, <a href="https://canarymission.org/professor/Snehal_Shingavi">Shehal</a> is a regular at protests and events committed to demonizing Israel. During a 2014 lecture, he <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAGtcdPL244&amp;feature=youtu.be&amp;t=13m15s">likened</a> Israel to Nazi Germany, claiming, “This is not me being hyperbolic…..Gaza is the biggest open air concentration camp in the world today and the condition of life in Gaza is not dissimilar to life in Auschwitz and Dachau.”

Students attending DePaul are not allowed to chalk political messages around campus. In a campus-wide email Zdziarski said, “The university has been addressing campus climate issues in an effort to provide an inclusive and supportive educational environment. In this context, many students, faculty and staff found the chalk messages offensive, hurtful and divisive.” These messages included pro-Trump and pro-police slogans.

Ryan has publicly criticized supporters of Israel. He has also written sympathetically about Islamic terrorists and has signed petitions for a terrorist conspirator. Ryan also supported the idea of a caliphate before the rise of ISIS.

Loomis first attracted attention in 2012—following the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting—for his condemnation of the NRA. In a series of tweets, <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=4544">he called for</a> Wayne LaPierre’s “head on a stick” and dubbed the NRA a “terrorist organization” that murders children.

Reinoehl, who was wanted by police for killing Danielson during a Trump rally in Portland, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/suspect-in-portland-fatal-shooting-has-been-killed-reports">was killed</a> after drawing a gun on law enforcement agents serving a warrant for his arrest.

Boudin, a convicted murderer and a member of Bill Ayers' domestic terrorism group the Weather Underground, had no problem finding a job teaching at Columbia. According to The Daily Beast "In 1984, Boudin, a member of the Weather Underground, a violent, oafish association of upper-class “revolutionaries,” pled guilty to second-degree murder in association with the infamous 1981 Brinks armored car robbery in Nyack, New York. Babbling in the language of anti-racism and anti-imperialism, Boudin assisted in ending the life of three people, including Waverly Brown, the first black police officer on the Nyack police force, and left nine children fatherless. She was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison. In 2003, Boudin was released; by 2008 she had landed a coveted teaching position at an Ivy League university."

Williams, in an editorial for The Nation, wrote " the history of the right to bear arms is shaped by exclusionary privilege based on race and gender. It is almost exclusively white men who may “reasonably” carry firearms to protests outside Target or political conventions", although still 20% of Hispanic and African-American homes own guns according to Pew research.

<a href="https://campusreform.org/?id=14870">In an online dispute</a> over the President of the United States, Lax publicly accosted a Columbia student online. After accusing the President of murdering Americans, Lax then attacked Gabriel Montalvo, a conservative, referring to him as “stupid” and “evil,” in posts provided by Montalvo on his <a href="https://twitter.com/Baron_Montalvo/status/1247164493748146178">twitter account</a>.

Further on, he referred to Montalvo, who is Hispanic, as a “neo-nazi” after telling him to “drop dead”. Lax called Montalvo a neo-Nazi multiple times in the exchange and even insinuated that he brandishes a swastika.

He recently made a highly inappropriate comment after finding out about Sen. John McCain’s brain tumor, stating,“McCain is a war criminal and, more to the point, someone who as a politician has championed horrifying action and been lousy on state commitment to public health. So dying or not, he’s a risible public figure.” He also took this chance to criticize his views on health insurance, and bash him, using him as an apparent contrast to Einstein, saying that, after comparing the two, “this analogy should not be taken too seriously. McCain is certainly no Einstein and I don’t just mean on brains. Einstein had very appealing humanist instincts, as a socialist, antiwar, anti-imperialist, and anti-statist Zionist."
