SJSU Allows Biological Males To Compete On Women’s Volleyball Team

After Boise State University female volleyball players forfeited an NCAA game against San Jose State University, spokesperson Michelle Smith claimed that SJSU fully complies with National Collegiate and Mountain West Conference regulations. However, allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports violates the Title IX Education Amendments of 1972 and the Fourteenth Amendment.
SJSU started its season undefeated. This record raised questions of fairness and safety concerns for the female players. The college allowed the male, who identifies as female, to start competing on the team two years ago. SJSU student-athlete Brooke Slusser—who was forced to room with the “transgender” player without prior knowledge of his gender—has since joined the lawsuit against the NCAA initially brought by Turning Point USA contributor Riley Gaines.
Gaines increased momentum in the culture war after losing her NCAA swimming championship trophy to a man named Will “Lia” Thomas in 2022. Gaines and other women forced to share a locker room with Thomas appeared before the Georgia State Senate.
In addition to BSU, Southern Utah University and the University of Wyoming have also forfeited games against SJSU. As of publication, no other SJSU season games have been canceled, and the university is sticking to its unlawful decision to violate Title IX.
