Turning Point USA is standing up to the Chinese Communist Party. Through our China on Campus initiative, Turning Point USA is highlighting the infiltration of our educational institutions and halting the Chinese government in its tracks. We will locate, identify, and expose every school and professor that receives funding from the Chinese government. James Barber is a Faculty Advisor to the Confucius Institute in addition to serving as an Associate Professor and Senior Associate Dean for Academic Programs at the College of William and Mary.

<a href="https://www.wm.edu/sites/dhp/faculty/ciccariello-maher-george.php">Dr. George Ciccariello-Maher</a> is a Visiting Scholar of Decolonizing Humanities and Modern Languages and Literatures at the College of William and Mary. He previously taught in the Department of History and Politics at Drexel University.

From the College of William and Mary's website, his work at the Decolonizing Humanities Project is <a href="https://www.wm.edu/sites/dhp/decoloniality/index.php">described</a> as exploring, “how colonization, modernity, capitalism, and, most recently, neoliberalism has displaced an array of modes of living, thinking and being.  Decoloniality reveals “the dark side of modernity” and how it is built “on the backs” of “others.”

Ciccarello first came to notoriety for his racially inflammatory statements on twitter. On Christmas of 2016, he <a href="https://www.inquirer.com/philly/news/Drexel-officials-Professor-George-Ciccariello-Mahers-White-Genocide-tweet-was-utterly-reprehensible.html">tweeted</a> out,

“All I want for Christmas is White Genocide,”

and,

“To clarify: when the whites were massacred during the Haitian Revolution, that was a  good thing indeed.”

He also tweeted out,

“Some guy gave up his first-class seat for a uniformed soldier. People are thanking him. I’m trying not to vomit or yell about Mosul.”

When Ciccariello was confronted by <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndkvgmGIQHQ">Tucker Carlson</a> over his tweets, he only proceeded to double-down. In the following exchange, he defended the academic veracity of his tweets by claiming, “performance art is scholarship.”

Ciccariello doesn’t shy away from utilizing violence to accomplish his radical beliefs. In an op-ed for <a href="https://www.salon.com/2015/05/04/riots_work_wolf_blitzer_and_the_washington_post_completely_missed_the_real_lesson_from_baltimore/">Salon</a>, he praised the riots that had engulfed Baltimore in 2015 in an article titled “Riots Work.” He wrote, “without the threat of insurgency in the streets, no charges would ever have been brought in the murder of Freddie Gray.” Obviously not a proponent of police, Ciccariello openly <a href="https://www.salon.com/2015/04/24/we_must_disband_the_police_body_cameras_arent_enough_only_radical_change_will_stop_cops_who_kill/">advocates</a> for the abolishment of police forces, describing them as, “originally slavecatchers.”

When not calling for the disbandment of our law enforcement, Ciccariello is an ardent defender of the socialist regime in Venezuela. He regularly <a href="https://www.counterpunch.org/2013/04/12/thatcher-is-dead-long-live-chavez/">praises</a> Hugo Chavez and has bizarrely <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhYz1owM-uA&amp;feature=youtu.be">claimed</a> that Venezuela does not have corrupt elections.

Ciccariello doesn’t shy away from violent groups as well. In order to fight white-nationalism, Ciccarello called on Americans to embrace the radical group ANTIFA in an interview with <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTv_hqjrmi8&amp;feature=youtu.be">Democracy Now</a> following the El Paso mass shooting. Although committed by a stated white nationalist, in the same interview Ciccariello placed the blame on Donald Trump for the deaths, claiming that his rhetoric on immigrants inspired the shooter’s rampage.  Ciccariello made similar accusations in a prior <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTv_hqjrmi8&amp;feature=youtu.be">interview</a> about the Texas Church Massacre, alluding that “whiteness” and Trump’s stoking of white victimhood was to blame for the murders.

Jesse A. Goldberg is an incoming lecturer in the English Department at Auburn University.
Self-described as a “radical anti-racist white teacher”, he has repeatedly demonized police officers on his personal <a style="color: #000000;" href="https://twitter.com/KempoJesse">social media accounts</a>, <a style="color: #000000;" href="https://yellowhammernews.com/auburn-professor-f-every-single-cop/">tweeting</a>:
“F*ck every single cop. Every single one. The only ethical choice for any cop to make at this point is to refuse to do their job and quit. The police do not protect people. They protect capital. They are instruments of violence on behalf of capital.”
In a since-deleted Facebook post, Goldberg wrote “ACAB” which stands for “all cops are bastards.” The post reads:
“ACAB. Yes, all. Police do not protect people. They protect capital. Cops are instruments of violence on behalf of capital. Literally the only ethical decision for a cop in this moment is to refuse to do their job, to quit. The only good cop is a cop who quits.”

Susan Douglas

<a href="https://lsa.umich.edu/comm/people/regular-faculty/sdoug.html">Dr. Susan Douglas</a>, a professor at University of Michigan, publicized her hate for Republicans in an article from In These Times. She says, “I hate Republicans. I can’t stand the thought of having to spend the next two years watching Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Ted Cruz, Darrell Issa or any of the legions of other blowhards denying climate change, thwarting immigration reform or championing fetal ‘personhood.’”

<a href="http://fordschool.umich.edu/faculty/betsey-stevenson">Betsey Stevenson </a>is an associate professor of Economics at the University of Michigan. Stevenson made the list after making the claim that the lack of women found in Economics textbooks is the reason so few women pursue Economics as a major. In a study she conducted with Hanna Zlotnick, she found that 77% of people found in the leading Economics textbooks were male.

<a href="https://lsa.umich.edu/history/people/faculty/jrcole.html">Dr. Juan Cole</a> is a Professor of History at the University of Michigan. He believes right-wing Jews and an “Islamophobic network” were “a key influence” to the shooting that killed nine people at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, S.C. He has also argued that recognizing Israel as a state is racist.

<a href="https://lsa.umich.edu/stats/people/faculty/fink.html">Nadiya Fink</a> is a statistics lecturer at University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. After a conservative activist satirically changed his preferred pronoun to "His Majesty", Fink threatened to punish any student who mocked the preferred pronoun system.

<a href="https://lsa.umich.edu/comm/people/regular-faculty/sdoug.html">Dr. Susan Douglas</a>, a professor at University of Michigan, publicized her hate for Republicans in an article from In These Times. Charles H.F. Davis is an Assistant Professor at the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education at the University of Michigan. He previously taught at the University of Southern California. According to his university biography, Davis’s research and teaching focuses on, “race and racism, systems of oppression, and structures of domination in U.S. higher education and its social contexts.”

Davis previously rose to notoriety in 2017 for a series of <a href="https://twitter.com/hfdavis?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor">racially inflammatory tweets</a>. As reported by <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/usc-professor-defends-tweet-promoting-violence-whiteness/">The College Fix</a>, he tweeted that “whiteness” must be destroyed and alluded to the necessity of violence in confronting it.

“White supremacist capitalist patriarchy must be destroyed” Davis tweeted on May 5, 2017.

The background photo of his twitter account at the time featured a black woman pointing a gun at a pig that clearly represents a caricature of a police officer. 

When contacted over his remarks, Davis responded, “To be clear, I am decidedly against whiteness as a social and political ideology, which systematically marginalize and disenfranchise people of color from opportunities for societal advancement. In addition, I am against the institution of policing, which has historically and continuously enacted racial terror, sexual violence, and economic exploitation against racial minorities, women and LGBTQ communities, and economically disadvantaged working-class people.”

When asked if any of these tweets might make students uncomfortable, Davis <a href="http://hfdavis.com/blog/an-interview-with-a-conservative">responded</a> that any discomfort experienced by his white students is a result of their “white fragility.” 

Davis had previously advocated for the right of students to disrupt conservative speakers on campus. In the wake of <a href="https://badgerherald.com/news/2016/11/17/conservative-pundit-ben-shapiro-lectures-to-turbulent-crowd-on-safe-spaces-freedom-of-speech/">protesters heckling</a> Ben Shapiro’s lecture at the University of Wisconsin Madison, school regents approved a <a href="https://www.chicagotribune.com/nation-world/ct-university-of-wisconsin-protest-punishment-20171006-story.html">policy</a> to suspend or expel students that purposefully disrupt events. Davis’s subsequent <a href="https://www.chicagotribune.com/nation-world/ct-university-of-wisconsin-protest-punishment-20171006-story.html">op-ed</a> at Inside Higher Ed argued that this only reinforced white supremacy: “To be clear, it is a decision that reinforces institutionalized white supremacy -- and other oppressive forms of systemic power.”

Despite being Jewish, Davis argues that conservative speakers like Shapiro have hijacked the First Amendment to push “white supremacist agendas.”  

Davis’s website, which is listed by the University of Michigan on his biography, <a href="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/51ab9fa0e4b06a38e604420a/t/5edaf71d1ab0434751b2e960/1591408468354/HF+Davis+%E2%80%93%C2%A0EPK.pdf">advertises </a>that he has taught the issues of “ race, racism, and systemic oppression in education and society” to over “7,000 students, educators and institutional leaders.” The <a href="http://hfdavis.com/">home page</a> of the site also features links to organizations that advocate for the Black Lives Matter movement, abolishing the police, and boycotting the nation of Israel.

<a href="https://education.uiowa.edu/person/jodi-linley">Professor Jodi Linley,</a> University of Iowa, detailed her extensive commitment to teaching classes that “deconstruct whiteness” in an academic journal article, arguing that to do otherwise would make her “complicit” in perpetuating white supremacy and white privilege.

<a href="https://clas.uiowa.edu/anthropology/people/ellen-lewin">Dr. Ellen Lewin</a> is a Professor of Anthropology at the University of Iowa. Dr. Lewin recently came under fire for her passionate response to a campus-wide email sent by the College Republicans. The email was an advertisement for “Conservative Coming Out Week!” Lewin, in a fit of rage, replied, “F@#$ YOU, REPUBLICANS.” Not only was she outraged that Republicans were active on campus, but she also did not approve of their event names nor the use of the phrase “coming out.”

Following the controversial killing of an unarmed black woman by police officers in Seattle, Annamma tweeted that, &#8220;The systemic violence that killed Charleena Lyles is the very foundation of the country.&#8221; She then went even further by saying, &#8220;There is no time to return to make America great again, unless you are deeply invested in white supremacy &amp; killing of black &amp; brown people&#8230;to secure your own white property through racism, ableism, [and] cis-heteropatriarchy.&#8221; Her faculty bio says that her research focuses on &#8220;increasing access to equitable education for historically marginalized students and communities, particularly students of color with disabilities.&#8221;

Professor <a href="https://profiles.stanford.edu/david-palumbo-liu?tab=bio">David Polumbo-Liu</a> is the Louise Hewlett Nixon Professor at Stanford University. He is ferociously anti-Israel and is actively involved with ANTIFA on campus.

As co-founder of the <a href="https://campusantifascistnetwork.com/">Campus Antifascist Network</a>, Palumbo-Liu describes the purpose of the network as to "help support, educate and defend faculty, students and staff, and share information on fascist organizing in the U.S., planned fascist activities, and organized antifascist responses."

In an article for the <a href="https://www.huffpost.com/entry/whats-behind-the-explosio_b_8298362">Huffington Post</a>, he repeated the antisemitic trope that Israel is preparing to demolish Al-Aqsa Mossque and accused Israel of indiscriminately murdering Palestians.

A vocal proponent of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaign, Liu has <a href="https://legalinsurrection.com/2015/01/modern-language-assoc-postpones-anti-israel-boycott-vote-until-2017/">advocated</a> for its passage both at Stanford and at the MLA (Modern Language Association).

<a href="http://education.gsu.edu/profile/stephanie-behm-cross/">Professor Stephanie Behm Cross</a>, Georgia State University, published an academic journal article lamenting the “insidiousness of silence and whiteness” on college campuses. In her article, she states that “Remaining silent may itself be the luxury of white privilege and may reinforce oppression.&#8221; She goes on to say, “This is particularly true when working as a White faculty member, operating with high levels of White fragility, within a system of higher education cloaked in Whiteness.”

She goes on to say, “This is particularly true when working as a White faculty member, operating with high levels of White fragility, within a system of higher education cloaked in Whiteness.”

In a class prior to Thanksgiving 2016, Lamar taught students how to argue with conservative relatives about issues such as illegal immigration, refugees, and the Dakota Access Pipeline. Lamar also mocked Christians for not supporting taking in Middle Eastern refugees and said conservatives often come to their views through fear.

Penn was recorded complaining in one of his creative writing classes about “dead white Republicans” who “raped his country.” As a student videotaped his rant, Penn antagonized students and asked, “You look like you’re frowning. Clover was widely<a href="https://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2019/02/26/uc-davis-professor-joshua-clover-cops-killed/"> condemned</a> after past tweets and statements in a 2015 article with<a href="https://archives.sfweekly.com/exhibitionist/2015/09/17/the-write-stuff-joshua-clover-on-wearing-intense-knowledge-lightly-and-changing-quickly"> San Francisco Weekly</a> advocating for the murder of police officers were uncovered. His statements include:

In an op-ed from 2014, Conoley stated that if you are “light-skinned” you have “significant unearned privilege.” Moreover, these privileged individuals show distrust and “lower expectations of behavior” of those with another skin color.

Michael Park is an instructor at California State University-Long Beach. He used a media law class to disparage Tea Partiers and conservatives as being birthers. In an assignment, he implied that opposition to President Obama is based on a belief that he is not a "true American". This is similar to a class taught by Christopher Knap, a fellow CSULB professor that assigned a homework assignment implying Trump is homophobic/sexist.

Fair was the subject of a <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7dAQe1s5ZVka3hXLURodG1WQkU/view">complaint</a> filed by a colleague for “harassment, abuse, hate, and cyberbullying.”  After <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4069936/Georgetown-prof-C-Christine-Fair-went-meltdown-Muslim-ex-colleague-Asra-Q-Nomani-admitted-voting-Donald-Trump.html">Asra Nomani</a>, who is Muslim, said she voted for Trump because of her problems with Obamacare, Fair went on a month-long rant against Nomani, including calling her various insulting names in her native Urdu, claiming Nomani had “pimped” herself out, as well as saying "F*** you".

Fair is also known for her vulgar and carnal tweets directed at conservatives. During the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in the fall of 2018, Fair <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=11369">launched</a> into a racially tinged tirade on her <a href="https://twitter.com/CChristineFair?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor">Twitter</a> account, accusing Republicans of enabling a rapist and calling for their castration in a series of tweets, 
<ul>
 	<li style="font-weight: 400;">“Look at thus(sic) chorus of entitled white men justifying a serial rapist’s arrogant entitlement.</li>
 	<li style="font-weight: 400;">”all of them deserve miserable deaths while feminists laugh as they take their last gasps."</li>
 	<li style="font-weight: 400;">“Bonus: we castrate their corpse and feed them to swine? Yes.”</li>

Though he is widely known for his extremely controversial and extreme opinions, constantly referring to how much he hates cops. Though he may have taken it a step too far with of of his latest, stating, “Yes, ALL white people are racist. Yes, ALL men are sexist. Yes, ALL cis people are transphobic. We have to unpack that. That's the work!”

Dyson has<a href="https://www.wglt.org/post/dyson-isu-white-supremacy-sees-resurgence-under-trump-0#stream/0"> alleged</a> that there has been a “resurgence” of white supremacy under a conservative presidency. In an interview with<a href="https://video.foxnews.com/v/5308799067001#sp=show-clips"> Tucker Carlson</a>, he has also asked for whites to pay reparations to black communities to offset America’s legacy of racism. During a<a href="https://www.c-span.org/video/?445812-1/aurea-foundation-hosts-munk-debate-political-correctness"> debate</a> on political correctness in 2018 with Professor Jordan Peterson, Dyson repeatedly referred to Peterson as just a “mean, mad, old, white, man.” 

Just prior to Independence Day 2019, Dyson appeared on<a href="https://www.mediaite.com/politics/michael-eric-dyson-on-betsy-ross-flag-symbolism-why-dont-we-wear-a-swastika-for-july-fourth/"> MSNBC </a>and compared the iconic Betsy Ross Flag to a Nazi Swastika,

“Well, it hails from the Revolutionary period, of course, of this nation’s founding, which was deeply embroiled in, you know, enslavement, of the owners of slaves…..Right-wing white supremacists have used it as a rallying cry for their own cause.” 

Dyson continued,

“Words matter, symbols matter too. Why don’t we wear a swastika for July Fourth? Because I don’t know, it makes a difference.”

Dyson is also associated with the notorious anti-Semite and Nation of Islam leader, Louis Farrakhan. In 2010, Dyson<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ULAThBZKiM"> participated</a> in a roundtable discussion hosted by PBS with Farrakhan and<a href="http://www.finalcall.com/artman/publish/Minister_Louis_Farrakhan_9/article_7248.shtml"> interviewed</a> him the same year about the economic condition of black communities.

The scandalous tweet reads “I’m not wishing for it… but I’d be ok if #BetsyDevos was sexually assaulted”. After the negative backlash, Ranco tweeted what we could call an excuse; but no apology. The firm&#8217;s founder, Craig Carlson, as well as a spokesman for ACC, spoke out against his actions stating that his views are not reflective of theirs. He is currently still employed by ACC.
