Beatrix Weil
Rhodes College
Beatrix Weil is a Chaplain at Rhodes College. According to College Fix, she “is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary with a master of divinity and certificate in theology, women and gender… She became an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church USA in 2017.”
According to her faculty profile, “Chaplain Beatrix is a ‘safe zone,’ which means she is trained in supporting people of the LGBTQIA+ community.”
Commercial Appeal reports that Weil was the organizer of a proposed campus event titled “BDSM 101.”
The invitation to the “BDSM 101” event says (see image from College Fix below):
“Chaplain Beatrix will host a local dominatrix to share wisdom on how to safely, sanely, and consensually learn about Bondage, Discipline/Domination, Sadism/Submission and Masochism [BDSM]. There will be an opportunity to ask questions anonymously.”
The event was cancelled as soon as it came to the college administration’s attention:
“The proposed event was cancelled Friday as soon as it came to our attention. It was not a college-sanctioned event. No such event is planned for our campus.”
Despite the cancellation of the “BDSM 101” event, the National Review reports that Weil—in Fall 2023–invited a dominatrix to speak to students in a seminar titled “Let’s Talk about Sex.”
