<a href="https://hb2504.dcccd.edu/vita/0024293.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Andrew McGregor</a> is a history professor at <a href="https://www.dallascollege.edu/cd/credit/history/mvc/pages/default.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dallas College &#8211; Mountain View Campus</a>. 
McGregor has written extensively about his views on race in sports history. He is the Founder/Co-Editor of <a href="https://ussporthistory.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sport in American History</a>, a group blog that focuses on American Sport History and Studies. In one of his blog posts, McGregor writes that the acceptance of minority athletes is “part of a constant renegotiation born out of late-nineteenth century notions of respectability tied to a white supremacist racial hierarchy endemic to Anglo-American culture that is baked into our social, political, and sporting institutions.” This is also known as his theory of “The Sporting Middle Ground.” 
In one of his publications, <a href="http://publicseminar.org/2018/07/agency-order-and-sport-in-the-age-of-trump/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Agency, Order and Sport in the Age of Trump</a>, McGregor refers to “Trump’s racist law-and-order politics…”  He states how “Kneeling during the national anthem gave them [NBA and NFL players] a chance to quietly push back against the jingoistic celebration of a country that treats them like second-class citizens and whose law enforcement officers routinely murder young black men, all while profiting from their athletic labors. Trump has used these protests to launch an assault on their character, calling players like Colin Kaepernick “a son of a [b***h]” that should be fired and other black athletes ‘very ungrateful.’”
Additionally, McGregor alleges that as a result of playing professional sports, any power racial minorities may acquire “is bounded up in racial capitalism — a devastating intermixing of exploitative capitalist practices with the increasingly innovative bondages of white supremacy.”
According to <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/article?id=18705" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Campus Reform</a>, McGregor claimed that <a href="https://www.profootballhof.com/players/john-madden/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">John Madden</a> played a part in the “dehumanization of black athletes and “glamorized violence” through his influence in popularizing football video games, among other things.” He shared his thoughts on John Madden via Twitter hours after the football coach and commentator passed away:

After these tweets, McGregor eventually deleted his account.
McGregor also criticized the effect “Madden’s legacy has had on minority athletes.” He claimed that it is “pretty clear” that most of Madden’s accomplishments “were not beneficial or healthy for athletes, [particularly] non-white athletes.” 
His thread was concluded by stating:  
“When your entire life is based on expanding and profiting off of one of the most violent and exploitative games, veneration is not exactly something that you deserve…”
As stated in Campus Reform, McGregor also shared his thoughts about how “few people like to critically think about how (video games and fantasy sports) relate to race, labor, and consumption of a violent and exploitative sport.”

Boedy spoke out against a new bill which allows for concealed carry on campus, claiming that he feared he would be shot by disgruntled students if concealed carry was legal at the university.

He required students to recite a pledge that describes a racist, sexist, homophobic America. “I pledge allegiance to and wrap myself in the flag of the United States Against Anything Un-American and to the Republicans for which it stands, two nations, under Jesus, rich against poor, with curtailed liberty and justice for all except blacks, homosexuals, women who want abortions, Communists, welfare queens, treehuggers, feminazis, illegal immigrants, children of illegal immigrants, and you if you don't watch your step.” He resigned from the University in 2017.

Dr. Oneida Meranto is was an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Metropolitan State University, Denver. Dr. Meranto taught that America is a racist country where “being white has its privilege.” She also taught that, capitalism, Christianization, and civilization cause America to remain racist and sexist. She <a href="https://post-telegraph.com/features/professor-going-to-dogs-serves-life-well/">retired</a> in 2015

<a href="https://addran.tcu.edu/view/santiago-pinon">Dr. Santiago Piñón</a> is an Assistant Professor at Texas Christian University. Piñón attempted to create a racially-segregated study session for Hispanic students.

Dr. Melita Garza is an Associate Professor of Journalism at Texas Christian University. Dr. Garza allegedly failed a disabled veteran student for arguing against modern-feminism and that women in the United States were fortunate and liberated. Garza also allegedly kicked the student out of class and filed a police report with campus police accusing the student of being “disruptive”.

Dr. Sami Schalk

<a href="https://gws.wisc.edu/staff/schalk-sami/">Dr. Sami Schalk</a> is an Associate Professor in the Department of Gender and Women’s Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. According to her university biography, Schalk’s work is centered on “disability, race, and gender in contemporary American literature and culture.” Schalk has risen to prominence recently due to her racially inflammatory remarks and sympathy towards rioters tearing down statues.
In a now-deleted exchange and series of tweets, Schalk <a href="https://campusreform.org/?ID=14268">stated</a> that white people can’t decide what is racist: 
“This is your semi-annual reminder that white people do not get to determine what is &amp; is not racist. If a person of color calls you racist, it’s probably bc [because] you did something racist whether you can recognize it or not. Now back to your regular scheduled programming.” 
She later tweeted that only white people cannot live in the sun, writing, &#8220;Out of the sun. You know they got destroyed by the thing that keeps everything else on this planet alive&#8230;&#8221;
Schalk is also a vocal advocate of the riots that destroyed statues in Madison. In a series of tweets, she vaguely <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/u-wisconsin-madison-professor-cheers-protesters-tearing-down-statues-honoring-abolitionist-womens-progress/">threatened</a> that the “uprising” would continue if the rioters&#8217; demands weren’t met. If there was any ambiguity to her beliefs, she then tweeted that people don’t have anything else to do “but disrupt the f*** out of this city” and that the city of Madison should defund the police.

<a href="https://african.wisc.edu/staff/damon-sajnani/">Dr. Damon Sanjani</a> is a Professor of African Cultural Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While recently he has been in the news for teaching a course called "The Problem of Whiteness", Sanjani is far more controversial than just that class on race relations and white supremacy. He previously retweeted a tweet about assassinating Donald Trump and tweeted in support of the Dallas cop killings.

In April 2021, Professor Gruber, along with her TTU colleague <a href="https://www.professorwatchlist.org/professor/andrewsmith">Professor Andrew Smith</a>, <a href="https://www.tpusa.com/live/tpusa-advisor-attacked-by-leftwing-activist-colleagues-on-tennessee-tech-campus">attacked TPUSA students at TTU</a> and the chapter’s TTU faculty advisor, Tennessee Tech<a href="https://blogs.tntech.edu/techtimes/2019/people/faculty-fresh-face-andrew-aj-donadio/"> Professor Andrew Donadio</a>. Specifically, Professor Gruber hung flyers around the TTU campus accusing  the TPUSA chapter of harassing and terrorizing “persons of color, feminists, liberals, and teachers.” Professor Gruber also claims that TPUSA students and their advisor are “on our list” and are not welcome at the university.

Dr. Julia Gruber and Andrew Smith have <a href="https://www.scribd.com/document/530376660/Gruber-and-Smith-v-Tennessee-Tech-University">filed a lawsuit against Tennessee Tech University</a>. In the suit–filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee–both allege that TTU has infringed upon their freedom of speech and seek to remove any disciplinary action the university has placed against them.

According to Smith’s university <a href="https://www.tntech.edu/stories/faculty/andrew-smith.php">biography</a>, he organizes guest speakers, social events, field trips, and service-learning projects, while promoting activism in the community.

Professor Smith, along with fellow TTU Professor <a href="https://www.tntech.edu/directory/cas/fl/julia-gruber.php">Julia Gruber</a>, <a href="https://www.tpusa.com/live/tpusa-advisor-attacked-by-leftwing-activist-colleagues-on-tennessee-tech-campus">attacked TPUSA students at TTU</a> and the chapter’s advisor, TTU <a href="https://blogs.tntech.edu/techtimes/2019/people/faculty-fresh-face-andrew-aj-donadio/">Professor Andrew Donadio</a>. Through misleading and misinformed flyers he posted around the TTU campus, Professor Smith accused the TPUSA chapter of harassing, and terrorizing “persons of color, feminists, liberals, and teachers.”

He considers himself to be a scholar of religions and has penned many books, including a New York Times bestseller titled, <a href="https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/201653/zealot-by-reza-aslan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth</a>. When he isn’t teaching or writing publications, he often takes to social media to express his strong dislike of conservatives.

Sandmann and other boys from Covington Catholic High School were wrongly accused of harassing indigenous people at the Lincoln Memorial in 2019. The boys ultimately filed a lawsuit against Dr. Aslan for false and defamatory accusations.

In a GSST “Faculty Letter to Students Regarding the Impact of Covid-19”, <a href="https://gsst.ucr.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the GSST department (of which Robinson is Chair) wrote:</a>

“As a department committed to critical feminist, queer, and trans research, we understand that the devastating effects of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has disproportionately impacted – and continues to disproportionately impact – Black and Brown communities due to systemic racism, misogyny, misogynoir, empire and colonialism, occupation and extraction, and xenophobia and white supremacy.”

Dr. Robinson claims that sex is not biological but a social construct. <a href="https://politicalscience.nd.edu/people/luis-ricardo-fraga/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Luis Ricardo Fraga</a> is the Rev. Donald P. McNeill, C.S.C, Professor of Transformative Leadership, Joseph and Elizabeth Robbie Professor of Political Science, Director of the Institute for Latino Studies, and Fellow at the Institute for Educational Initiatives at the University of Notre Dame. According to his university biography, he specializes in Latino politics, voting rights, immigration, and education.
In June 2021, Professor Fraga signed a “statement of concern” titled <a href="https://www.newamerica.org/political-reform/statements/statement-of-concern/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“The Threats to American Democracy and the Need for National Voting and Election Administration Standards.”</a> The letter was circulated by New America, a liberal think tank, and signed by professors from across the country. The statement says:
“State legislatures have advanced initiatives that curtail voting methods now preferred by Democratic-leaning constituencies, such as early voting and mail voting. Republican lawmakers have openly talked about ensuring the “purity” and “quality” of the vote, echoing arguments widely used across the Jim Crow South as reasons for restricting the Black vote.” 
The letter acknowledges it is “always far better for major democracy reforms to be bipartisan,” but argues that in the “current hyper-polarized political context such broad bipartisan support is sadly lacking.” The statement ends with a call to action:
“We urge members of Congress to do whatever is necessary &#8211; including suspending the filibuster &#8211; in order to pass national voting and election administration standards that both guarantee the vote to all Americans equally, and prevent state legislatures from manipulating the rules in order to manufacture the result they want.” 
Notre Dame News wrote an article about the letter titled, <a href="https://news.nd.edu/news/political-science-professors-sign-statement-warning-of-threats-to-us-democracy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Political science professors sign statement warning of threats to US democracy.”</a> Fraga, listed as an expert on this topic, says that the United States is a “nation founded on the basis of slavery and its related racism.”
He explains:
“We have culture wars and our racist historical past and its lingering contemporary effects and immigration &#8211; particularly from Latin American &#8211; is identified as a threat to American identity and American ideals. Add to that people coming from Muslim countries, and this intensifies the culture wars.” 
He believes that the Republican Party wants to <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/republicans-want-to-dehumanize-voters-who-threaten-white-identity-says-notre-dame-professor/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“dehumanize” those who threaten “white identity,”</a> stating:
“All these things together have led to &#8211; and research backs this up &#8211; the importance of white identity. Working against this threatens the status of the Republican Party and spurs the gerrymandering/voting tricks. Their goal is to dehumanize the people who are the sources of that threat.”

Dr. Gutting claims that “permissive gun laws are a manifestation of racism.” He believes that the mostly white gun lobby is forcing black people to live in fear. Gutting claims that fear is violating their 14th amendment rights as American citizens.

<a href="https://www.msps.nd.edu/iris-outlaw">Iris Outlaw</a> is the Director of Multicultural Student Program and Services at the University of Notre Dame. Outlaw taught a “white privilege” seminar that pledged to help students acknowledge and understand their white privilege.

Tamara Kay is a <a href="https://keough.nd.edu/profile/tamara-kay/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Professor of Global Affairs and Sociology</a> at the University of Notre Dame’s Keough School of Global Affairs. She is also an ex-officio member of the Keough School’s Racial Justice Task Force.

<a href="https://irishrover.net/2022/10/keough-school-professor-offers-abortion-access-to-student/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Irish Rover</a> reports that Professor Kay is helping students get abortions after an Indiana law banning abortions statewide took effect on September 15, 2022. She posted a sign on her office door that read: “This is a SAFE SPACE to get help and information on ALL Healthcare issues and access - confidentially with care and compassion.” The sign also contained her personal email address and a capital “J.”

In a social media post, Kay explained: “We are here (as private citizens, not representatives of ND) to help you access healthcare when you need it, and we are prepared in every way. Look for the “J”, Spread the word to students!” The Rover reports that professors with the “J” on their doors offer help in obtaining Plan B “morning after” pills and “Plan C” abortion pills.

According to The Rover, Professor Kay claims that her abortion advocacy is allowed because she’s “doing that as a private citizen,” saying, “that’s been cleared by the university … I talked to the dean and have also spoken to ND Media about policies.”

However, during the week of September 26, Kay changed her Twitter name from “Dr. Tamara Kay - Notre Dame abortion rights expert” to “Dr. Tamara Kay - Abortion Rights &amp; Policy Scholar.” She has also since deleted all tweets referencing abortions for students and removed the signs from her office.

Professor Kay has written many articles about abortion rights. One article, co-authored with Susan Ostermann, an assistant professor at the Keough School, is titled <a href="https://www.salon.com/2022/05/04/forced-pregnancy-and-childbirth-are-violence-against-women--and-also-terrible-health-policy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Forced pregnancy and childbirth are violence against women - and also terrible health policy.”</a> The article argues that “forced pregnancy and childbirth is sexual abuse,” stating:
“Both require the sexual reproductive capacity of human bodies. Being forced to provide that capacity, and to endure the physical intrusion and penetration of the body that both pregnancy and childbirth require, is nothing less than sexual abuse.” 
The article argues that “abortion access is freedom-enhancing,” saying:
“Consistent with integral human development that emphasizes social justice and human dignity, abortion access respects the inherent dignity of women, their freedom to make choices and to evaluate medical and other risks associated with pregnancy and childbirth.” 
It concludes:
“Perhaps most important, abortion access also prioritizes and values women’s freedom from experiencing violence, sexual abuse and trauma through forced pregnancy and childbirth. When the state supports forced pregnancy and childbirth, it is complicit in this violence.”

According to his university biography, he specializes in Latino politics, voting rights, immigration, and education.

In June 2021, Professor Fraga signed a “statement of concern” titled <a href="https://www.newamerica.org/political-reform/statements/statement-of-concern/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“The Threats to American Democracy and the Need for National Voting and Election Administration Standards.”</a> The letter was circulated by New America, a liberal think tank, and signed by professors from across the country. He explains:
“We have culture wars and our racist historical past and its lingering contemporary effects and immigration - particularly from Latin American - is identified as a threat to American identity and American ideals. Add to that people coming from Muslim countries, and this intensifies the culture wars.” 
He believes that the Republican Party wants to <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/republicans-want-to-dehumanize-voters-who-threaten-white-identity-says-notre-dame-professor/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“dehumanize” those who threaten “white identity,”</a> stating:
“All these things together have led to - and research backs this up - the importance of white identity. Working against this threatens the status of the Republican Party and spurs the gerrymandering/voting tricks. Their goal is to dehumanize the people who are the sources of that threat.”

<a href="https://sites.nd.edu/michael-coppedge/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Michael Coppedge</a> is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame and a Faculty Fellow of the Kellogg Institute for International Studies.

According to his university profile, he is a member of the highest decision-making body, the Principal Investigator Board, for the <a href="https://www.v-dem.net/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Varieties of Democracy</a> project. The project, also known as V-Dem, is a collaborative effort led by four principal investigators that has “produced new measures of hundreds of aspects of democracy and governance for nearly all countries since 1900.”

V-Dem reports that no country in North America or Europe has advanced in democracy in the last decade and democracy in the U.S. has declined substantially. Coppedge states:
“A decline is already underway. If recent and pending state-level legislation erects more and more barriers to voting and makes the translation of votes into seats and electors even more distorted than it already is, I am sure this trend will worsen.” 
V-Dem’s 2021 report shows that the U.S. declined substantially on the Liberal Democracy Index from 2010 to 2020. Notre Dame News reports that the V-Dem researchers blame this decline on “former President Donald Trump’s repeated attacks on the media and opposition politicians, and the substantial weakening of the legislature’s de facto checks and balances on executive power.”

Professor Cohen is outspoken about his pro-choice beliefs. Cohen argues that the Biden administration should “lease federal property to abortion providers” and “use its influence over the postal system to stop any state from investigating or thwarting shipments of abortion pills through the mail.”

Robertson also co-authored a study with Rev. W. Tali Hairston entitled, <a href="https://journals.aps.org/prper/pdf/10.1103/PhysRevPhysEducRes.18.010119" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Observing whiteness in introductory physics: A case study."</a> Research analyses focused on unmasking “whiteness” in physical science programs with results showing physics degrees disproportionately conferred upon white students aged 20-24. Robertson and Hairston also “[focused] on the reproduction of whiteness in an introductory physics classroom."

The Robertson and Hairston study also found that whiteboards “play a role in reconstituting whiteness as social organization…[whiteboards] draw attention to themselves and in this case support the centering of an abstract representation and the person standing next to it, presenting.” In <a href="https://campusreform.org/article?id=19429" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a </a>statement to Campus Reform, Hairston admitted that “whiteboards are not inherently racist,” but their prevalence and collaborative use could “perpetuate racism.”

Although case study results implicate whiteboards as a tool for carrying on an institutional tradition of white supremacy and privilege in higher education, Robertson and Hairston do not provide applicable solutions for the proper usage of whiteboards — or advocate for their complete removal from college classrooms around the country.

<a href="https://michacardenas.sites.ucsc.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Micha Cardenas </a>is an Associate Chair and Associate Professor of Performance, Play and Design, and Associate Professor of Critical Race and Ethnic Studies, at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Cardenas is also an activist. He is <a href="http://transbodies.com/people/micha-cardenas/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">described by Transbodies</a> as a “mixed-race trans femme latina.” When referring to his name he leaves the first letters of both his first and last name uncapitalized (micha cardenas). 
Cardenas also considers himself an artist, and has produced several visual and digital works that have been displayed in museums and galleries. One of his works is called <a href="https://michacardenas.sites.ucsc.edu/pregnancy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Pregnancy”</a> which, according to Cardenas, is a “hybrid poetry/bioart project.” Cardenas says that “Pregnancy” presents a vision of trans latina reproductive futures, based on my experiences of cryogenic tissue banking, aka sperm banking, after having been on hormones for many years.” In one of the “poems” in this project, Cardenas says: 
“I am no testo junkie,
this is no experiment,
these are not drugs, they’re my body.
I take hormones every day of my life out of necessity,
just to have a body I can live in,
to avoid death,
to survive”
Cardenas created a video game called <a href="https://michacardenas.sites.ucsc.edu/sin-sol-no-sun/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Sin Sol/No Sun”</a>, which “is an augmented reality game that allows users to experience the feelings a [sic] climate change event, in order to deeply consider how climate change disproportionately effects immigrants, trans people and disabled people.” In the game: “​​Players can find, see and hear a story told through poetry about living through climate change induced wildfires, from a trans latinx AI hologram, Aura.” The game is set fifty years from 2018, the year when the project was released. 
Cardenas has written and published three books, the latest being “<a href="https://www.dukeupress.edu/Assets/PubMaterials/978-1-4780-1765-3_601.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Poetic Operations</a>.” The description for the book states that Cardenas, “considers contemporary digital media, artwork, and poetry in order to articulate trans of color strategies for safety and survival.”
Cardenas’ teaching philosophy, found on the <a href="https://danm.ucsc.edu/people/micha-c%C3%A1rdenas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Digital Arts New Media page for UC Santa Cruz</a>, claims that “the university [is] a site of political struggle. The university is a place created through colonial theft of land, where racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia are perpetuated, but we can all work to change that.” He concludes the paragraph with the following statement:  
“I will work to facilitate a space that we co-create together where everyone is empowered to speak. My grading practices focus on self-assessment, as I want to move away from carceral models of education and towards abolitionist futures.”

<a href="https://humanities.ucsc.edu/academics/faculty/index.php?uid=bettinaf">Dr. Bettina Aptheker</a> is a Distinguished Professor of Feminist Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Aptheker was raised by well-known members of the Communist party and then continued membership into her adult life, including being a leader of Leftist groups at her college as a student in the 1960s.

She currently teaches feminist studies and calls her teaching philosophy “revolutionary praxis.” The goal of this style is to subvert the traditional “male-centered” teaching methodology and replace it with a “woman-centered perspective.”

<a href="https://humanities.ucsc.edu/academics/faculty/index.php?uid=aydavis">Angela Davis</a> is a professor emeritus at the University of California at Santa Cruz, and previously taught Women's and Feminist Studies at San Francisco State University. A 20th-century icon for the Left, Davis’s profile has seen a resurgence after her speech at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSGPGNJpaE0&amp;ab_channel=DemocracyNow%21" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the 2017 Women's March</a>, in which she was an honorary co-chair.

Throughout her career, there was seemingly no cause or desport too radical for Davis, who regularly toured Communist nations and embraced brutal dictatorships. Davis appeared twice on the ballot as the <a href="https://cms.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2020/07/biden-bags-angela-davis-endorsement-lloyd-billingsley" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Communist Party’s candidate for Vice-President</a> and has spent her career since advocating for abolishing prisons and the police.

<a href="https://www.history.com/topics/black-history/angela-davis">Davis</a> grew up between Birmingham, Alabama and New York City, and spent her early academic career being <a href="https://spectator.org/womens-marchers-unite/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mentored by Frankfurt School academic Herbert Marcuse</a>. In the 1960’s she became a member of the Black Panthers and Communist Parties. <a href="http://web.stanford.edu/~ccarson/articles/am_left.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Black Panthers</a> were a Marxist-Leninist organization co-led by Huey Newton, whose involvement is <a href="https://www.salon.com/1999/12/13/betty/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suspected in multiple murders</a> allegedly committed by the Panthers. Davis has described the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WRDrkBZYA4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Black Lives Matter movement</a> as the “contemporary Black Panther Party.”

One of the most notorious crimes the Black Panthers or Davis were ever associated with was the Marin County Civic Center Attack. On August 7th, 1970, Jonathan Jackson stormed the Marin County courtroom and took hostages in an attempt to negotiate the release of his brother, George, who was on trial for murdering a prison guard. In the ensuing shootout, 4 were killed including Judge Harold Haley. <a href="https://archives.frontpagemag.com/fpm/hollywoods-undying-love-communist-angela-davis-arnold-ahlert/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Davis had bought the weapons</a> used by Jonathan in the shoot-out and was later discovered to be in a relationship with George Jackson. Despite numerous witnesses who implicated Davis in the kidnapping plot to free Jackson, she was acquitted by a sympathetic jury.

Following her acquittal, Davis went on a prolific tour of Communist nations. One of her first stops was a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veqcoxk3keo&amp;ab_channel=AfroMarxist" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Havana rally</a> with <a href="https://www.cato.org/blog/fidel-castro-worst-worst" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dictator Fidel Castro</a> of whom <a href="https://www.cato.org/blog/fidel-castro-worst-worst" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Davis has praised</a> throughout her career.

During her trial, the Soviet Union had begun vocally and financially supporting Davis. Eastern bloc nations <a href="https://www.cato.org/blog/fidel-castro-worst-worst" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ordered its citizens to send letters of support to Davis</a> and to protest Ronald Reagan, who was then serving as Governor of California, for her prosecution. It is estimated that 5% of the Soviet propaganda budget was spent just on boosting Angela Davis’s image around the world. She soon visited the USSR, where she <a href="https://www.cato.org/blog/fidel-castro-worst-worst" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received the Lenin Peace Prize</a> in Moscow.

Davis has met with and offered support to radicals throughout her career. In 2009, she headlined a <a href="https://www.cato.org/blog/fidel-castro-worst-worst" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dinner honoring Jeremiah Wright</a>, the pastor of former President Obama who delivered <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=4443788">sermons blaming America for 9/11 and asking God to damn America</a>.

An associate to Jim Jones, Davis addressed his followers at Jonestown and <a href="https://www.cato.org/blog/fidel-castro-worst-worst" target="_blank" rel="noopener">praised the cult leader</a>, who would later <a href="https://www.history.com/topics/crime/jonestown" target="_blank" rel="noopener">direct a mass suicide</a> of hundreds at his compound, for his “struggle” against racism.

Davis describes the country and free markets as replete with racism. In an <a href="https://www.history.com/topics/crime/jonestown" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appearance at the Qatari-owned Al-Jazeera</a>, Davis stated that racism is embedded into the fabric of our nation and that there is a “genealogical relationship” between policing and slavery. This is a <a href="https://www.history.com/topics/crime/jonestown" target="_blank" rel="noopener">central plank to Davis’s work</a> on “abolition,” which includes the abolition of prisons, police, and capitalism at-large.

Davis has lent support for convicted cop killers <a href="https://www.history.com/topics/crime/jonestown" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Assata Shakur</a> and <a href="https://www.history.com/topics/crime/jonestown" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mumia Abu-Jamal</a>. She has <a href="https://www.history.com/topics/crime/jonestown" target="_blank" rel="noopener">described Assata Shakur</a> as a “political refugee” and a victim of FBI repression. She <a href="https://old.post-gazette.com/regionstate/19991013davis5.asp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">met with Abu-Jamal numerous times</a> to advocate for his release, despite his <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20071221080800/http://www.justice4danielfaulkner.com/Days/6-24-82.html">confession</a> to murdering officer Daniel Faulkner.

Davis has also advocated for the <a href="https://old.post-gazette.com/regionstate/19991013davis5.asp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">release of Marwan Barghouti</a>. As the leader of the Al-Aqsa brigades, Barghouti was responsible for directing the suicide bombers that resulted in the <a href="https://old.post-gazette.com/regionstate/19991013davis5.asp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">murder of dozens of Israelis</a>.

Opposed even to the existence of the state of Israel, Davis is a <a href="https://old.post-gazette.com/regionstate/19991013davis5.asp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">vocal advocate of BDS</a> (the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement) to dismantle the state of Israel and has falsely accused Israel of numerous human rights violations. In a speech at the University of Houston, she accused <a href="https://old.post-gazette.com/regionstate/19991013davis5.asp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Israelis of funding police brutality</a> and racism in America.

Micha Cardenas

Ms. <a href="https://twhs.conroeisd.net/people/heidi-bardenhagen/">Heidi Bardenhagen</a> is an English teacher at The Woodlands High School in Houston, Texas. In audio recordings provided by an anonymous source, Ms. Bardenhagen can be heard making racist and offensive comments to her students during classroom lessons.
In one recording, Bardenhagen can be heard stating that “whites have power over blacks” and that discrimination in America did not end with slavery. She justifies her assertion by alleging that the Summer 2020 riots were the result of white privilege.

In the recording, Ms. Bardenhagen is referring to the traffic stop that resulted in the <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/04/12/daunte-wright-police-release-bodycam-footage-of-fatal-shooting/">police shooting of Daunte Wright</a> in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota in April 2021. In an attempt to restrain Mr. Wright as he resisted arrest, Officer Kim Porter shot Mr. Wright with her firearm after mistaking the gun for her taser. Mr. Wright later died at the scene due to gunshot wounds.
Violent protests soon broke out across Minneapolis over the incident. <a href="https://www.kare11.com/article/news/local/metro-cities-curfews-daunte-wright-shooting/89-f8b637bf-0e5d-4389-b8c7-71305849af41">According to KARE11</a>, a Minneapolis-based news station, over 70 rioters were arrested—some for throwing bricks and cans at police officers. Officer Kim Porter is currently set to <a href="https://www.bostonglobe.com/2021/05/17/nation/police-officer-who-fatally-shot-daunte-wright-stand-trial-dec-6/">stand trial for manslaughter</a>.
In the same leaked recordings obtained exclusively by Turning Point USA, Ms. Bardenhagen explains to her students that her efforts to teach Critical Race Theory is an attempt to “stretch” their brains in uncomfortable ways.

Ms. <a href="https://twhs.conroeisd.net/people/heidi-bardenhagen/">Heidi Bardenhagen</a> is an English teacher at The Woodlands High School in Houston, Texas. In audio recordings provided by an anonymous source, Ms. Bardenhagen can be heard making racist and offensive comments to her students during classroom lessons.

In one recording, Bardenhagen can be heard stating that “whites have power over blacks” and that discrimination in America did not end with slavery. She justifies her assertion by alleging that the Summer 2020 riots were the result of white privilege.

In the recording, Ms. Bardenhagen is referring to the traffic stop that resulted in the <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/04/12/daunte-wright-police-release-bodycam-footage-of-fatal-shooting/">police shooting of Daunte Wright</a> in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota in April 2021. In an attempt to restrain Mr. Wright as he resisted arrest, Officer Kim Porter shot Mr. Wright with her firearm after mistaking the gun for her taser. Mr. Wright later died at the scene due to gunshot wounds.

Violent protests soon broke out across Minneapolis over the incident. <a href="https://www.kare11.com/article/news/local/metro-cities-curfews-daunte-wright-shooting/89-f8b637bf-0e5d-4389-b8c7-71305849af41">According to KARE11</a>, a Minneapolis-based news station, over 70 rioters were arrested—some for throwing bricks and cans at police officers. Officer Kim Porter is currently set to <a href="https://www.bostonglobe.com/2021/05/17/nation/police-officer-who-fatally-shot-daunte-wright-stand-trial-dec-6/">stand trial for manslaughter</a>.

In the same leaked recordings obtained exclusively by Turning Point USA, Ms. Bardenhagen explains to her students that her efforts to teach Critical Race Theory is an attempt to “stretch” their brains in uncomfortable ways.

As Breitbart <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2012/03/11/what-is-critical-race-theory/">documents</a>, critical race theory is an intellectual branch of Marxism that views America and all of its institutions as being infected with white supremacy—to the point of some, including Nikole Hannah-Jones, even <a href="https://reason.com/2020/09/23/1619-project-nikole-hannah-jones-1776-founding-race-new-york-times/">claiming</a> America’s real founding was in 1619 when the first slave stepped foot in North America, and not 1776 when the American colonies declared independence from England.

<a href="https://pah.arizona.edu/people/harris-kornstein" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Harris Kornstein</a> is an Assistant Professor for the Institute for LGBTQ+ Studies at the University of Arizona. 
On his <a href="https://www.harriskornstein.com/">website</a>, Kornstein says that “By night, I&#8217;m a <a href="https://www.lilmisshotmess.com/">drag queen</a>, and have performed at venues ranging from San Francisco&#8217;s legendary <a href="https://www.studsf.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stud bar</a> to SFMOMA, and Stanford University to <a href="https://perezhilton.com/katy-perry-drag-queens-deny-migos-drama-saturday-night-live/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Saturday Night Live</a>.”
When in drag, Kornstein goes by the drag name of “Lil Miss Hot Mess.” He has written children storybooks about drag queens. One of these books (published in 2020) is titled “<a href="https://www.amazon.com/Hips-Drag-Queen-Go-Swish-ebook/dp/B07XDNJB14" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish.”</a> The book’s description states:
“Playing off &#8220;The Wheels on the Bus,&#8221; this nursery rhyme book from a founder of Drag Queen Story Hour is a fun, freewheeling celebration of being your most fabulous self.
&#8220;The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish encourages readers to boldly be exactly who they are. Written by a founding member of the nationally recognized Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH), this playful picture book offers a quirky twist on a classic nursery rhyme by illustrating all of the ways to &#8220;work it&#8221;. The story plays off &#8220;The Wheels on the Bus&#8221; as it follows a drag queen who performs her routine in front of an awestruck audience. A fun frenzy of fierceness, this book will appeal to readers of all ages.”

In 2022, Kornstein also published a similar-themed book titled <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Youre-Drag-Queen-You-Know/dp/0762475331" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“If You&#8217;re a Drag Queen and You Know It.”</a> The book’s description states the following:

Join a cast of fabulous drag queens as you sing along to the tune of “If You’re Happy and You Know It” in this playful celebration of expressing your brightest and boldest self. A perfect companion to The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish written by a board member of Drag Queen Story Hour.”

In 2020, Kornstein and Professor Harper Keenan of the University of British Columbia wrote an article titled, <a href="https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/03626784.2020.1864621">“Drag pedagogy: The playful practice of queer imagination in early childhood.”</a> 
Kornstein and Keenan claim that, “To the unimaginative adult (which – sigh – describes most of us), it might seem that the world of drag and the world of children are impossibly distant from one another.”  
The authors also “propose that DQSH [Drag Queen Story Hour] offers a particular kind of queer framework – what we call drag pedagogy – for teaching and learning that extends beyond traditional approaches to LGBT curricular inclusion.”
Concerning traditional gender roles and sexuality, the authors state their opposition in the following manner:
“In the USA, for example, many people learn that the most valued boy will be white, engage in rough-and-tumble play with other boys that will toughen him up and straighten him out, allowing him to mature into a man who wears a suit and tie, makes a lot of money, enters into a sexually monogamous marriage with a woman, buys a home, and has enough but not too many children. In other words, a script that may begin with gender shapes how individuals are taught to understand their expected roles in society in ways that extend far beyond gender alone. Almost no one can fully conform to the script of gender all of the time.”
The authors think that “Drag Queen Story Hour” (DQSH) “publicly positions its impact in “help[ing] children develop empathy, learn about gender diversity and difference, and tap into their own creativity.”
They also expounded on what they claim is the definition of a drag queen, along with their hopes for the future of DQSH.
 “As an art form, drag is all about bending and breaking the rules, and so its aims are totally different from a normative classroom. When a drag queen enters a (class)room, she [sic] generally intends to draw attention to herself – whether through shock, admiration, or envy of her embodied performance. There is a premium on standing out, on artfully desecrating the sacred.”
In writing the article, the authors wrote that they “are guided by the following question: what might Drag Queen Story Hour offer educators as a way of bringing queer ways of knowing and being into the the education of young children?”

<a href="https://www.geo.arizona.edu/person/jessica-kapp">Dr. Jess Kapp</a> is a lecturer at the University of Arizona. She wrote a blog post called "The Rape of America" where she compared the election of Donald Trump to rape. "He whispers promises of protection with crossed fingers behind his back, and while we prepare to give him a chance, turning our heads from his proven history of lies, he will attack us bareback and ride us until we tear... And just when we think it is going to let up, he will escalate the assault to gang rape.”

<a href="https://eeb.arizona.edu/person/john-wiens">Dr. John Wiens</a> is a Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Arizona. A scholar of extinction and evolutionary biology, Wiens joked that Donald Trump should kill himself over his climate and environmental policies.

<a href="https://linguistics.arizona.edu/user/noam-chomsky">Noam Chomsky</a> is a professor of Linguistics at the University of Arizona and, according to MIT, one of the most <a href="https://news.mit.edu/1992/citation-0415#:~:text=From%201972%20to%201992%2C%20Professor,in%20the%20Science%20Citation%20Index.">cited academics in human history</a>.

In an interview with C.J. Polychroniou, Chomsky <a href="https://truthout.org/articles/trump-in-the-white-house-an-interview-with-noam-chomsky/">states</a> that the Republican party is the “most dangerous organization in human history.” The New Yorker also reports Chomsky's claims that <a href="https://www.newyorker.com/news/q-and-a/noam-chomsky-believes-trump-is-the-worst-criminal-in-human-history">Donald Trump is a worse criminal than Adolf Hitler</a>.

Socialism
According to the New Criterion, Chomsky frequently <a href="https://newcriterion.com/issues/2003/5/the-hypocrisy-of-noam-chomsky">praised</a> the left-wing government of the Khmer Rouge and has publically disputed the credibility and existence of the Cambodian Genocide. Committed by the Khmer Rouge and its dictatorial head Pol Pot, it is <a href="https://cla.umn.edu/chgs/holocaust-genocide-education/resource-guides/cambodia#:~:text=Lasting%20for%20four%20years%20(between,following%20the%20Cambodian%20Civil%20War.">estimated</a> that at least 1.5 and 3 million people died between 1976 and 1979. Despite <a href="https://gsp.yale.edu/case-studies/cambodian-genocide-program">detailed reports</a> of starvation and systematic executions, Chomsky denied that any widespread killings had taken place and accused reporters of repeating right-wing propaganda and sensationalizing their stories. Chomsky attributes the deaths to US imperialism and executions of subversive elements to the communist government

Chomsky publically defends individuals who engage in Holocaust denial. As documented in Robert F. September 11 Attacks
Speaking at MIT following the aftermath of the <a href="https://twitter.com/TPUSA/status/1171500948964818944">September 11 terrorist attacks</a> against the United States, Chomsky <a href="http://tech.mit.edu/V121/N52/52chomsky.52n.html">asserted</a> that 9/11 represented, “the guns having been directed the other way.” The Tech, MIT’s oldest newspaper, also reports Chomsky blaming US citizens for the attacks on 9/11, and that Osama bin Laden, leader of al Qaeda, might be innocent.

Chomsky also <a href="https://www.salon.com/2001/09/26/treason_2/">stated</a> that the US casualties were far less devastating than the effects of US foreign policy around the world. Chomsky <a href="https://www.discoverthenetworks.org/individuals/noam-chomsky/">stated</a> that the United States was attempting to murder “3-4 million people” in Afganistan and that the strike against Osama bin Laden was “some sort of silent genocide.”

In an article published in 2020, <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/how-many-people-died-911-thousands-perishing-september-11-related-illnesses-1531058">Newsweek found that</a> “In New York, 2,750 people were killed, at the Pentagon 184 died, and a further 40 people were killed in Pennsylvania.” Newsweek also reported that 400 first responders were killed and that 18,000 survivors have been diagnosed with “9/11-related cancer.”

According to a <a href="https://acleddata.com/2020/09/03/demonstrations-political-violence-in-america-new-data-for-summer-2020/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study conducted by the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED)</a>, BLM can be linked to 95% of the riots around the country–notably in Summer 2020 following the death of George Floyd. In an analysis of the study, <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Federalist </a>found that “of the 633 incidents coded as riots, 88 percent are recorded as involving Black Lives Matter Activists.” The resulting riots were the most destructive in American history, <a href="https://fee.org/articles/george-floyd-riots-caused-record-setting-2-billion-in-damage-new-report-says-here-s-why-the-true-cost-is-even-higher/#:~:text=Only%20now%20are%20we%20beginning,%241%20billion%20to%20%242%20billion." target="_blank" rel="noopener">causing an estimated $2 billion in damages and 47 deaths.</a>

The course is officially titled, “ENGL 101A: #SayTheirNames, a Black Lives Matter Literacy.” Students will be asked to study how American values are connected to “blackness,” and “whiteness.” Ms. Chan will then ask the following:

- How does social media allow for critiques of race, gender, sexuality, and violence?

- What does it mean to say their names as an elegy, an anthem, and a language to give space for talking about Black Lives?

The phrase “Say Their Names” is frequently chanted at BLM protests. The slogan is an attempt, by activists, to draw attention to black men and women who have allegedly been murdered by police. <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/08/28/sen-rand-paul-surrounded-as-diverse-group-of-cops-defends-from-mob/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Senator Rand Paul was assaulted in August of 2020 by a mob yelling “[Brianna Taylor] Say Her Name!</a>”

Taylor, whose name is depicted in the banner of the course’s announcement, was reportedly dealing narcotics with her boyfriend–Kenneth Walker—at the time of her death. <a href="https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2020/09/the_truth_finally_emerges_about_breonna_taylors_death.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Walker opened fire on cops executing a search warrant on his apartment</a>, resulting in Breonna (who was present) dying in the crossfire.

Listed alongside the announcement banner are the course’s assigned texts. Those enrolled are required to read the following:

- Beyonce’s “Formation.” <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2016/02/08/2970258/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The song is a tribute to the Marxist, Black Panther Party</a>.

- Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright.” <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/kendrick-lamar-alright-2016-10?op=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The song is frequently sung at BLM protests</a>.

- Ta-Nehisi Coates’s “A Letter to My Son.” Coates authors a hypothetical letter to inform his son that he will grow up in a country that will <a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/07/tanehisi-coates-between-the-world-and-me/397619/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">oppress him because of his skin color</a>. Coates himself once described <a href="https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/07/the-toxic-world-view-of-ta-nehisi-coates-120512/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">9/11 first responders as “menaces of nature</a>.”

Stryker is working on a book titled “Changing Gender: A Trans History of North America from Colonization to the Present.” In a November lecture delivered at the <a href="https://flathatnews.com/2022/11/15/distinguished-professor-author-dr-susan-stryker-gives-lecture-on-sex-and-race-classification-in-colonial-anglo-america/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">College of William and Mary</a>, Stryker explained his method in writing the book:
 “I draw from both scholarship and cultural theory to inform the stories that I tell in my book about gender-changing people over the last 400 years, through which I demonstrate how the social system of gender itself has changed over time,” Stryker said. “I build an argument for why, here in the late anthropocene, gender needs to change further still.”

In  2021, Toomey wrote an article titled, “<a href="https://www.researchgate.net/publication/350641796_Advancing_Research_on_Minority_Stress_and_Resilience_in_Trans_Children_and_Adolescents_in_the_21st_Century" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Advancing Research on Minority Stress and Resilience in Trans Children and Adolescents in the 21st Century.”</a> She claims that “Transgender and nonbinary children and adolescents bear a disproportionate level of poor health, and adverse developmental and academic outcomes compared to their cisgender peers.” She advocates “for explicit attention in minority stress models with gender-minority youth to the domains of (a) intrapersonal and interpersonal gender dysphoria, and (b) access and use of affirmative and comprehensive health care.”

In another 2021 article titled, <a href="https://www.researchgate.net/publication/356018226_Transgender_Adolescent_Suicide_Behavior" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Transgender Adolescent Suicide Behavior” </a>— which Toomey co-wrote with Amy K Syvertsen and Maura Shramko —an argument is made that “most lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youths are quite resilient and emerge from adolescence as healthy adults, the effects of stigma and heterosexism can contribute to health disparities.”

In January of 2019, Toomey filed a <a href="https://www.acluaz.org/en/cases/toomey-v-arizona" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lawsuit</a> “against the State of Arizona and the Arizona Board of Regents for denying medically necessary, genderconfirming healthcare to transgender people employed by the state,” according to the ACLU. 

The ACLU stated the details behind the lawsuit and its current outcome::
“The lawsuit asks the Court to remove the health plan’s exclusion for “gender reassignment surgery.” It also seeks the opportunity for all transgender state employees and dependents to have their claims for transition-related surgery evaluated as medically necessary under the same standards and procedures the health plan applies to other medical treatments. On December 23, 2019, Judge Marquez denied Defendants State of Arizona, Andy Tobin and Paul Shannon’s Motion to Dismiss, and class certification was granted on June 15, 2020. Plaintiff filed a Motion for Preliminary Injunction on September 1, 2020 which has been fully briefed by the Parties. The Court has taken the motion under advisement.”
“During the discovery process, the State of Arizona appealed a ruling by the trial court that the state had to turn over certain documents. On April 14, 2022, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals denied the State of Arizona’s petition, and litigation proceedings will continue.”

<a href="https://gws.arizona.edu/user/marcia-klotz-phd" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Marcia Klotz</a> is an Assistant Professor in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Arizona. According to her university profile, her interests include “critical finance studies, queer theory, sexuality studies, Marxist theory, film studies, and the relationship between colonialism and modern racism.” 

Klotz teaches a course called <a href="https://catalog.sbs.arizona.edu/?email=mklotz@email.arizona.edu&amp;_gl=1*2w0oai*_ga*MzEwNDUxNDMyLjE2Njk5MzY2MTE.*_ga_7PV3540XS3*MTY3MDM2NjAzMC41LjAuMTY3MDM2NjAzMC42MC4wLjA." target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Gender, Culture and Capitalism.”</a> The course’s description states: 
“This course explores the relationship between economic processes (especially capitalism), social formations such as gender, race, ethnicity, nation and sexuality, and the production and consumption of culture, in the various senses of that complex term.”
Students taking “Gender, Culture and Capitalism” are tasked with reading “fundamental texts of liberal and marxist theory, various attempts to integrate marxist, feminist and anti-racist analyses, and theories that situate culture in relation to industrialization, globalization, and international divisions of labor.” The course examines “case studies, analyzing the discourses of class, gender, race and sexuality as they are deployed in and promoted by cultural texts that engage diverse issues of contemporary concern.”

Klotz published an article in the “Porn Archives” for Duke University Press called,  <a href="https://www.academia.edu/15093333/Its_Not_Really_Porn" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“It’s not really Porn”: Insex and the Revolution in Technological Interactivity.”</a> She addresses the topic of “internet bondage pornography” and records the results of a study she conducted with people involved in this industry. 

The description for<a href="https://www.dukeupress.edu/porn-archives" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Duke University Press’s “Porn Archives”</a> states 
“[T]he contributors to Porn Archives explore how the production and proliferation of pornography has been intertwined with the emergence of the archive as a conceptual and physical site for preserving, cataloguing, and transmitting documents and artifacts. By segregating and regulating access to sexually explicit material, archives have helped constitute pornography as a distinct genre. As a result, porn has become a site for the production of knowledge, as well as the production of pleasure.”
According to her profile, Klotz is “currently working on a book on the affective dimensions of the debt economy, arguing that finance capital operates as a theological power in the contemporary culture. The manuscript is titled Forgive Us Our Debts: Economic Theology in the Age of Finance Capital.”

<a href="https://pah.arizona.edu/people/harris-kornstein" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Harris Kornstein</a> is an Assistant Professor for the Institute for LGBTQ+ Studies at the University of Arizona. 

On his <a href="https://www.harriskornstein.com/">website</a>, Kornstein says that “By night, I'm a <a href="https://www.lilmisshotmess.com/">drag queen</a>, and have performed at venues ranging from San Francisco's legendary <a href="https://www.studsf.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stud bar</a> to SFMOMA, and Stanford University to <a href="https://perezhilton.com/katy-perry-drag-queens-deny-migos-drama-saturday-night-live/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Saturday Night Live</a>.”

When in drag, Kornstein goes by the drag name of “Lil Miss Hot Mess.” He has written children storybooks about drag queens. One of these books (published in 2020) is titled “<a href="https://www.amazon.com/Hips-Drag-Queen-Go-Swish-ebook/dp/B07XDNJB14" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish.”</a> The book’s description states:
“Playing off "The Wheels on the Bus," this nursery rhyme book from a founder of Drag Queen Story Hour is a fun, freewheeling celebration of being your most fabulous self.
"The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish encourages readers to boldly be exactly who they are. Written by a founding member of the nationally recognized Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH), this playful picture book offers a quirky twist on a classic nursery rhyme by illustrating all of the ways to "work it". The story plays off "The Wheels on the Bus" as it follows a drag queen who performs her routine in front of an awestruck audience. In 2020, Kornstein and Professor Harper Keenan of the University of British Columbia wrote an article titled, <a href="https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/03626784.2020.1864621">“Drag pedagogy: The playful practice of queer imagination in early childhood.”</a> 

Kornstein and Keenan claim that, “To the unimaginative adult (which – sigh – describes most of us), it might seem that the world of drag and the world of children are impossibly distant from one another.”  

The authors also “propose that DQSH [Drag Queen Story Hour] offers a particular kind of queer framework – what we call drag pedagogy – for teaching and learning that extends beyond traditional approaches to LGBT curricular inclusion.”

Concerning traditional gender roles and sexuality, the authors state their opposition in the following manner:
“In the USA, for example, many people learn that the most valued boy will be white, engage in rough-and-tumble play with other boys that will toughen him up and straighten him out, allowing him to mature into a man who wears a suit and tie, makes a lot of money, enters into a sexually monogamous marriage with a woman, buys a home, and has enough but not too many children. In other words, a script that may begin with gender shapes how individuals are taught to understand their expected roles in society in ways that extend far beyond gender alone. Almost no one can fully conform to the script of gender all of the time.”
The authors think that “Drag Queen Story Hour” (DQSH) “publicly positions its impact in “help[ing] children develop empathy, learn about gender diversity and difference, and tap into their own creativity.”

They also expounded on what they claim is the definition of a drag queen, along with their hopes for the future of DQSH.
 “As an art form, drag is all about bending and breaking the rules, and so its aims are totally different from a normative classroom. When a drag queen enters a (class)room, she [sic] generally intends to draw attention to herself – whether through shock, admiration, or envy of her embodied performance. There is a premium on standing out, on artfully desecrating the sacred.”
In writing the article, the authors wrote that they “are guided by the following question: what might Drag Queen Story Hour offer educators as a way of bringing queer ways of knowing and being into the the education of young children?”

Dr. Joseph “Joe” Lowndes is a <a href="https://polisci.uoregon.edu/profile/jlowndes/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">political science professor</a> at the University of Oregon. He writes extensively on right-wing and conservative politics and is vocally pro-Critical Race Theory. He has published many articles and recently co-wrote a book called, <a href="https://www.upress.umn.edu/book-division/books/producers-parasites-patriots" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Producers, Parasites, Patriots: Race and the New Right-Wing Politics of Precarity.” </a>

In April of 2020, <a href="https://newrepublic.com/article/157505/morbid-ideology-behind-drive-reopen-america" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Lowndes published an article</a> in the New Republic bashing conservative officials and citizens alike for their “dangerous views” on COVID-19. In the article, he accuses conservatives in the U.S. House of Representatives of being “pathological” for their refusal to wear masks when voting on the coronavirus relief bill. He also claims conservatives only want the country to remain open to “keep the current wealth stratifications in place and protect the rich from economic harm.”

Many articles and research publications written during lockdowns detailed how <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/13/business/small-businesses-coronavirus.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">small businesses would simply not be able to survive</a> if they continued to be locked down. <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/covid-19s-toll-on-u-s-business-200-000-extra-closures-in-pandemics-first-year-11618580619" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Wall Street Journal</a> noted that roughly 200,000 businesses permanently closed because of the pandemic. Lockdowns also caused many people in the United States to lose their jobs - approximately 9.6 million Americans were let go in 2020 due to COVID-19.

Besides “racist”, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJadc6GEfyA" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Lowndes also labels</a> conservatives as “conspiracy theorists” (particularly around COVID-19, election integrity, and BLM), “dangerous”, and “self-appointed vigilantes.”  He claims the “foe of those on the right” are opponents defined by race, religion, nationality, and immigrants from the outside. He accuses conservatives as demonizing anyone against their ideals.

<a href="https://www.heritage.org/conservatism/commentary/defining-the-principles-conservatism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Conservative principles </a>are founded in the belief that the government should have limited involvement in the everyday life of American citizens. The federal government’s power should be restricted to what is outlined in the constitution. American individuals and families should have the right to decide what is best for their religion, health, and welfare without government involvement. Taxes should be limited only to what is necessary to fund constitutionally appropriate functions. None of these principles have any bearing on someone’s race, religion, or nationality.

In 2015, Millán wrote an academic article titled <a href="https://krex.k-state.edu/dspace/bitstream/handle/2097/32551/681919.pdf?sequence=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Contested Children’s Literature: Que(e)ries into Chicana and Central American Autofantasias.”</a> She proposes a “literary technique” called autofantasia in the article: “I propose autofantasıa as a literary technique whereby authors deliberately insert themselves within a text in order to fantasize solutions or responses to hegemonic structures.” Millán writes that “the root word, auto, suggests, [sic] the author intentionally writes from an autobiographical perspective.” This autobiographical perspective is paired with “fantasia”, which is “a form of fiction that engulfs everything that can be imagined or fantasized.” Millán uses “fantasıa as an umbrella term for what may be labeled speculative fiction or, more specifically, fantasy fiction, science fiction, and magical realism.”

According to her university profile, Millán is working on a manuscript for a book called “Coloring into Existence: Queer of Color Worldmaking in Children's Literature.”

During the workshop, she discussed how particular students are emboldened to be overly racist in the classroom, both in-person and through their writing. She said that while some teachers may be afraid to tell students they can’t say something in class, teachers absolutely have the right to tell students to be quiet and stop talking.

She states, “the Supreme Court has actually upheld that hate speech, derogatory speech, any of the -isms do not apply in the classroom because they do not foster a productive learning environment.”
According to <a href="https://www.freedomforuminstitute.org/about/faq/what-rights-to-freedom-of-expression-do-students-have/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Freedom Forum Institute</a>, The Supreme Court ruled in Tinker v. Des Moines Independent Community School District (1969) that students “do not shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech and expression at the schoolhouse gate.”
Later in the lecture, Alvarez discusses a concept called “white institutional defensiveness,” which she describes as conditions that force non-white students to conform and assimilate to whiteness or else risk consequences. Alvarez asserts that not allowing non-white students to write in ABE style (Adult Basic Education) is racist and perpetuating white supremacy.

<a href="https://www.law.ou.edu/directory/steven-j-cleveland" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Steven J Cleveland</a> is the Alfred P. Murrah Professor of Law and Thomas P. Hester Presidential Professor at the<a href="https://law.ou.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> College of Law at the University of Oklahoma (OU</a>).
During the 2022 Spring Semester, the University of Oklahoma implemented strict mandates on students and faculty to limit the spread of COVID-19. Dr. Cleveland is currently enforcing these policies in his classroom to such an extreme extent that students are threatened with being removed from class and reported to the Dean of the school for not wearing a mask.
Upon returning for the Spring 2022 semester, students were informed by <a href="https://www.normantranscript.com/news/ou-requiring-masks-for-first-two-weeks-of-classes/article_704a7026-723a-11ec-aa7b-139ccc6f40da.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the university’s administration they will be forced to wear face masks</a> in classroom settings until February 1 when masks will then become<a href="https://www.ou.edu/together/campus-protocols/spring-2022" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> strongly recommended.</a>
This mandate is in direct contradiction with Oklahoma state law. In May of 2021, Governor Kevin Stitt <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2021/05/29/oklahoma-gov-kevin-stitt-bars-agencies-mask-vaccination-mandates/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">banned any state agency or building–including public universities–from requiring either a mask or vaccination status for entry</a>.
Nevertheless, professors at OU are still enforcing mask mandates and threatening to penalize students who do not comply with the restrictions. In communications reviewed by the Professor Watchlist team, professors are removing maskless students from class and threatening their grades due to the forced absences. Others refuse to even meet with students who are unvaccinated and will report unmasked students to their respective Dean.
One student, Alyssa Amundsen, vowed to defy the university mandates. She emailed each of her professors in the law school explaining that she would not wear a mask in class under any circumstance. While some professors were accommodating, many were not, and refused to allow her to attend in person.
Dr Cleveland was the most resistant to grant any exemptions. Amundsen was barred from attending class despite obtaining a medical exemption from wearing a mask last year from her doctor.
Amundsen emailed Dr. Cleveland to ask if she could attend class without a mask. Dr. Cleveland immediately refused her request and threatened to report her to the Dean of the Law School if she made a maskless appearance.

<a href="https://www.law.ou.edu/directory/steven-j-cleveland" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Steven J Cleveland</a> is the Alfred P. Murrah Professor of Law and Thomas P. Hester Presidential Professor at the<a href="https://law.ou.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> College of Law at the University of Oklahoma (OU</a>).

During the 2022 Spring Semester, the University of Oklahoma implemented strict mandates on students and faculty to limit the spread of COVID-19. Dr. Cleveland is currently enforcing these policies in his classroom to such an extreme extent that students are threatened with being removed from class and reported to the Dean of the school for not wearing a mask.

Upon returning for the Spring 2022 semester, students were informed by <a href="https://www.normantranscript.com/news/ou-requiring-masks-for-first-two-weeks-of-classes/article_704a7026-723a-11ec-aa7b-139ccc6f40da.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the university’s administration they will be forced to wear face masks</a> in classroom settings until February 1 when masks will then become<a href="https://www.ou.edu/together/campus-protocols/spring-2022" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> strongly recommended.</a>

This mandate is in direct contradiction with Oklahoma state law. In May of 2021, Governor Kevin Stitt <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2021/05/29/oklahoma-gov-kevin-stitt-bars-agencies-mask-vaccination-mandates/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">banned any state agency or building–including public universities–from requiring either a mask or vaccination status for entry</a>.

Nevertheless, professors at OU are still enforcing mask mandates and threatening to penalize students who do not comply with the restrictions. In communications reviewed by the Professor Watchlist team, professors are removing maskless students from class and threatening their grades due to the forced absences. Others refuse to even meet with students who are unvaccinated and will report unmasked students to their respective Dean.

One student, Alyssa Amundsen, vowed to defy the university mandates. She emailed each of her professors in the law school explaining that she would not wear a mask in class under any circumstance. While some professors were accommodating, many were not, and refused to allow her to attend in person.

Dr Cleveland was the most resistant to grant any exemptions. Amundsen was barred from attending class despite obtaining a medical exemption from wearing a mask last year from her doctor.

Amundsen emailed Dr. Cleveland to ask if she could attend class without a mask. Dr. Cleveland immediately refused her request and threatened to report her to the Dean of the Law School if she made a maskless appearance.

&#8220;I think democracy is on the line here as a result of the threats from Christian nationalism &#8230; yes, it&#8217;s a minority ideology, but we don&#8217;t see a lot of opposition to it,&#8221; she states.
Additionally, in an interview with <a href="https://www.kgou.org/show/capitol-insider/2022-08-26/rise-of-christian-nationalism-influences-political-discourse-and-elections-in-2022" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KGOU News</a>, Shortle states: 
“Well, in my own research, I&#8217;ve definitely found higher rates of white Christian Nationalism in Oklahoma than other parts of the country. So, using some Oklahoma nonprofit survey collectors through places like Sooner Poll, for instance, I found higher rates than when I run a national poll asking the same metrics of white Christian Nationalism. And not just how you define American identity, but also these particular myths of American religious exceptionalism that people adhere to &#8211; that America is God&#8217;s chosen nation, for instance, America was picked by God to lead all other countries. These are American exceptionalist ideals, but they&#8217;re also ideals that Christian Nationalists use to maybe speak to other Christian Nationalists without others knowing. Right?”

"I think democracy is on the line here as a result of the threats from Christian nationalism ... yes, it's a minority ideology, but we don't see a lot of opposition to it," she states.
Additionally, in an interview with <a href="https://www.kgou.org/show/capitol-insider/2022-08-26/rise-of-christian-nationalism-influences-political-discourse-and-elections-in-2022" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KGOU News</a>, Shortle states: 
“Well, in my own research, I've definitely found higher rates of white Christian Nationalism in Oklahoma than other parts of the country. So, using some Oklahoma nonprofit survey collectors through places like Sooner Poll, for instance, I found higher rates than when I run a national poll asking the same metrics of white Christian Nationalism. And not just how you define American identity, but also these particular myths of American religious exceptionalism that people adhere to - that America is God's chosen nation, for instance, America was picked by God to lead all other countries. These are American exceptionalist ideals, but they're also ideals that Christian Nationalists use to maybe speak to other Christian Nationalists without others knowing. Right?”
