<a href="https://www.phil.uga.edu/directory/people/irami-osei-frimpong" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Irami Osei-Frimpong</a> is a Teaching Assistant at the University of Georgia. He’s called for the death of white people and claimed that racial violence is the only way to achieve social justice.
In a now-deleted Medium article, Irami announced <a href="https://archive.ph/TCbjw#selection-127.0-134.0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">he was banned from Facebook</a> for stating that killing “some” white people isn’t genocide. The article is a repost of Irami’s original post, in which he defended a Texas A&amp;M professor—Tommy Curry—who called for killing white people:
“I guess I am going to post once more on Curry’s situation. We are too easy on white people. The Washington Examiner posted an article with the lead: “Curry called for white genocide, saying in a 2012 podcast ‘in order to be equal, in order to be liberated, some white people may have to die.“ <a href="https://archive.ph/o/TCbjw/www.washingtonexaminer.com/texas-am-wont-fire-professor-who-called-for-killing-white-people/article/2622810">http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/texas-am-wont-fire-professor-who-called-for-killing-white-people/article/2622810</a>
“First of all, killing some white people isn’t genocide; it’s killing some white people. We had to kill some white people to get out of slavery. Maybe if we’d killed more during the 20th century we still wouldn’t talk about racialized voter disenfranchisement and housing, education, and employment discrimination.”
Irami goes on to say he hopes the media will prepare white people “for the hit they are going to have to take” so that racial justice may be achieved without “killing too many of them.”
“If we want racial justice without having to kill them, then all of our educational and media institutions should be preparing white people for the hit they are going to have to take, so that we get racial justice without killing too many of them.”
Further posts on Twitter—many of which are still live—disparage white people as “autistic sociopaths” and claim they are “not people.”

In a now-viral video from 2019, a man confronted Irami while he was teaching a class. The student was allegedly angry over his comments accusing Georgian, suburban families of fostering future white supremacists. The full exchange may be viewed below. *LANGUAGE WARNING*

In a subsequent interview, Irami proceeded to double down on his comments, claiming <a href="https://www.facebook.com/wgauradio/videos/389250541647132/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">there’s “something in the water” which cultivates so many white supremacists in Georgia.</a>
The University of Georgia <a href="https://twitter.com/universityofga/status/1087175905993244672" target="_blank" rel="noopener">condemned Irami and initially pursued “legal options” in regard to his comments</a>. However, Irami remains employed with the University as of publication. The University Judiciary further <a href="https://www.redandblack.com/uganews/uga-judiciary-clears-graduate-teaching-assistant-irami-osei-frimpong-of-all-conduct-charges/article_574add12-70e0-11e9-95ad-dfd2584dc02b.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cleared Irami on possible Code of Conduct violations for allegedly lying on his graduate school application</a>.

<a href="https://www.tc.columbia.edu/faculty/bl2938/">Bettina L. Love</a> is a Professor of Education at Columbia University. A prominent critical race theorist, Dr. Love is responsible for the anti-racist curriculum that schools across the country use to teach students. Her work has been described as the <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/abolishing-america-biden-and-bettina-love/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“single most comprehensive and up-to-date guide to the ideology of the CRT movement in education.</a>”

<a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2012/03/11/what-is-critical-race-theory/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Critical race theory is an intellectual branch of Marxism</a>—also referred to as critical theory—that alleges <a href="https://newdiscourses.com/tftw-critical-race-theory/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">white supremacy infects all political, legal, and cultural institutions</a> in America. Many prominent critical theorists, including professor <a href="https://www.professorwatchlist.org/professor/nikolehannahjones" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Nikole Hannah-Jones</a>, even claim that the <a href="https://www.professorwatchlist.org/professor/nikolehannahjones" target="_blank" rel="noopener">nation’s true founding year is 1619</a>—rather than 1776—when the first slave stepped foot in North America.

Dr. Love describes herself as an <a href="https://bettinalove.com/about/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">abolitionist and anti-racist activist educator</a> who works to understand and critique “systemic and structural racism in education.”<a href="https://thefederalist.com/2021/08/12/meet-bettina-l-love-a-critical-race-theorist-coming-to-a-school-near-you/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> She further details her beliefs</a> in her book, “<a href="https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/622408/we-want-to-do-more-than-survive-by-bettina-love/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">We Want to Do More Than Survive.</a>”

Dr. Love is the founder of the Abolitionist Teaching Network (ATN) whose goal is to provide educators with the resources for abolitionist teaching, which Dr. Love characterizes <a href="https://www.sesp.northwestern.edu/news-center/news/2021/01/abolitionist-teaching-a-conversation-with-bettina-l-love.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">as “calling out” fellow teachers who are racist, homophobic, or Islamophobic.”</a>

ATN’s own documents encourage abolitionist teachers to promote the “liberation” of people of color and “embody the spirit” of the Black Lives Matter movement.

The page is found in ATN’s “<a href="https://img1.wsimg.com/blobby/go/8d4b8aa7-b12e-4df8-9836-081a29841523/downloads/ATN%20Guide%20to%20Racial%20and%20Restorative%20Justice%20in.pdf?ver=1639147237108" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Guide to Racial and Restorative Justice.</a>” Dr. Love’s organization distributes the document to school districts across the country as a resource for teachers. The resource instructs educators to demand the following from their school districts:

- Hire more black, brown, and indigenous teachers,

- Hire abolitionist teachers,

- Free anti-racist therapy for white educators,

- Reduce class sizes for the benefit of black, brown, and indigenous children,

- Remove any and all police officers from schools,

- Reparations for minority children,

- Teaching standards that promote “Black, Brown, and Indigenous liberation.”

The document further accuses schools of the “spirit murder” of minority studies via disciplinary practices. Dr. Love uses this phrase in a separate article <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20210106043843/https://www.edweek.org/leadership/opinion-how-schools-are-spirit-murdering-black-and-brown-students/2019/05" target="_blank" rel="noopener">to accuse white educators of levying racist punishments to humiliate and “destroy” their students of color.</a>

The article appeared in EducationWeekly where Dr. Love contributes articles that are full of racial invectives and diatribes. One claims that <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20211011180846/https://www.edweek.org/leadership/opinion-grit-is-in-our-dna-why-teaching-grit-is-inherently-anti-black/2019/02" target="_blank" rel="noopener">teaching students to work hard is racist.</a> Her article—<a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20210722025254/https://www.edweek.org/teaching-learning/opinion-dear-white-teachers-you-cant-love-your-black-students-if-you-dont-know-them/2019/03" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dear White Teachers: You Can’t Love Your Black Students If You Don’t Know them</a>—accuses white teachers of being incapable of teaching black students.

Dr. Love's work is promoted and incorporated into school districts across the country. <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/critical-race-theory-activist-education-department-connections" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Department of Education under the Biden administration once listed ATN and Dr. Love’s work as resources</a>. She was invited to address the Virginia Department of Education’s Equity Summit where she called to dismantle capitalism and systemic racism in schools.

Dr. Love was also invited to the San Diego Unified School District, where she <a href="https://christopherrufo.com/radicals-in-the-classroom/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly told attendees that white teachers are responsible for the suffering of “dark children.”</a>  Slides presented during her lecture stated, “Whiteness reproduces poverty, failing schools, high unemployment, school closings, and trauma for people of color.”

<a href="https://www.sps.nyu.edu/homepage/academics/faculty-directory/19002-gabrielle-n-simpson.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gabrilelle Gambrell</a> is “an Adjunct Instructor in Marketing and Public Relations at New York University (NYU). According to her university profile, she “teaches graduate-level courses in integrated marketing, digital and social media, media relations, corporate communications and more.”
In a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mzjy8qMUNi4">program</a> for the Dr. Phil Show, Gambrell was consulted for her opinions on censorship and the effect of “offensive” tweets on a person’s job.

Responding to Dr. Phil’s question about the censorship of “hate speech,” Gambrell stated: 
“I am extremely in favor of the First Amendment…but we have seen things that happen when social media is not censored…where there’s negativity there should be censorship.” She cited what she deemed were instances of racist, homophobic, and other types of “nasty” behavior recorded on social media posts, but gave no examples.
Gambrell believes that, “In certain instances where [a social media post is] harmful, in certain instances where it can hurt people, where there’s negative intent, there should be censorship.” 
The NYU professor — who formerly held jobs in U.S. media — went on to say she feels satisfaction when users of hate speech lose their jobs because of what they posted on social media:
“In some instances where I see viral videos where someone is clearly racist or homophobic or anything nasty and then the video goes viral, they lose their job, I’m like ‘score’ because that person does not deserve to have this title which can impact certain communities, they need to work on themselves.”
Gambrell’s <a href="https://www.giftofgabrielle.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a> states that she is “a champion for diversity, equity and inclusion,” which are also problems she seeks to solve through “e​​xecutive, corporate and brand consulting services.”

<a href="https://med.nyu.edu/faculty/arthur-l-caplan">Arthur Caplan</a> is the Dr. William F. and Virginia Connolly Mitty Professor of Bioethics at New York University (NYU) and Director of the Division of Medical Ethics at NYU.

Censorship
As <a href="http://www.campusreform.org/?ID=6690">reported</a> by Campus Reform, Caplan compares Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign to the rise of Adolf Hitler.

In the weeks following Donald Trump’s <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/donald-trump-announces-2016-presidential-campaign-make-country/story?id=31799741">announcement</a> that he would seek the 2016 Republican nomination, Caplan writes in <a href="https://www.poynter.org/reporting-editing/2015/commentary-the-danger-of-laughing-at-donald-trump/">Poynter, </a> a non-profit journalism and research center, that news organizations must hold Trump and the Republican party accountable “for the damage [Trump] does.” Caplan characterizes Trump’s views as racist and legitimizing of those American citizens who fear changing demographics.

While acknowledging that he views Trump’s chances as winning the nomination for the presidency unlikely, Kaplan draws parallels between Trump's campaign and the unexpected rise of Hitler in Germany.

Caplan further states in the same article that Trump is dangerous and that his speech is a classic ploy to generate fear and sow divisiveness.  Caplan urges journalists to treat more seriously the “danger” that Trump poses. Caplan accuses Trump of characterizing Mexicans as being criminals, rapists, and carrying diseases. Caplan says that these characterizations are similar to the rhetorical tactics used by the Nazi party against the Jews.

Despite his comparisons of Trump to Hitler, Caplan <a href="http://www.bioethics.net/2005/07/misusing-the-nazi-analogy/">argued</a> against the use of Nazi analogies to describe other people or political movements. In an article for bioethics.net, Caplan <a href="http://www.bioethics.net/2005/07/misusing-the-nazi-analogy/">states</a> that often those who draw analogies in arguments to Nazis, “do not know what they are talking about.”

In the same article, Kaplan states that it is “ethically incumbent” on those who use these analogies to understand the history behind the Nazis, and not to diminish the horror of their atrocities. Kaplan describes the “cavalier” use of these analogies as “unethical.”

<a href="http://gallatin.nyu.edu/people/faculty/flr207.html">Dr. Frank Roberts</a>, a professor at New York University, warned of “Jewish elites” controlling the media, a favorite trope of anti-Semites.  He tweeted “Its crucial for the public to realize that NBC/MSNBC,The NYTimes,US News &amp; World Report, &amp; the NY Daily News are all owned by Jewish elites” and “Speaking out against Israel's massacre &amp; Jewish elites' monopoly of the American free press is not anti-Semitic. #Gaza, #Flotilla, #OilSpill.”

<a href="http://steinhardt.nyu.edu/faculty/Mark_Crispin_Miller">Dr. Mark Crispin Miller</a>, a professor at New York University warned that President Bush was spreading propaganda in order to form a theocracy in the United States. He also compared Bush to Hitler, saying “All the major war-drives in modern history... in Germany, in the Soviet Union, and in the Middle East -- have been impelled by people who believed that they were at risk, that they were being persecuted, that they faced annihilation. Hitler actually believed that 'world Jewry' threatened Germany, and that his bloody enterprise was a means of self-defense against the Jews. We know all too well that al-Qaeda's people universally regard the Jews and Christians as plotting to wipe out Islam. And the Christo-fascist types now in control of the United States believe that they're the victims of non-Christians."

<a href="https://as.nyu.edu/content/nyu-as/as/faculty/ulrich-c-baer.html">Dr. Ulrich Baer</a> is a Professor of Comparative Literature at New York University. He wrote an editorial in the New York Times supporting the suppression of free speech on college campuses. He claimed "The idea of freedom of speech does not mean a blanket permission to say anything anybody thinks. It means balancing the inherent value of a given view with the obligation to ensure that other members of a given community can participate in discourse as fully recognized members of that community."

<a href="https://gallatin.nyu.edu/people/faculty/amh20.html">Amin Husain</a> is a part-time faculty member at New York University and the Pratt Institute. According to the university’s website, Husain’s work focuses on “resistance and liberation, movement generated theory and practice.”

Husain is also confounded and directs the NYC-based activist group, “<a href="https://decolonizethisplace.org/">Decolonize This Place</a>” (DTP).  According to their website, DTP events center around “Indigenous Struggle, Black Liberation, Free Palestine, Global Wage Workers, and De-Gentrification.”

Husain and DTP are known for their extreme rhetoric and aggressive confrontations with law enforcement. Husain and DTP utilize ANTIFA style-tactics during protests. The <a href="https://decolonizethisplace.org/">homepage</a> of DTP regularly features videos of burning police vehicles.

Prior to the Museum of Natural History’s decision to remove their statue of Theodore Roosevelt, Husain joined a chorus of activists demanding that the statue be removed. DTP itself <a href="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5c5e0c57d86cc9226827c754/t/5ee7ad184833d0007a2078fd/1592241433767/How+To+Take+Down+A+Monument_Poster.jpg">posted</a> a detailed graphic with instructions on toppling statues.

In January, DTP posted the following graphic for an upcoming <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=14391">protest</a> against the NYP. The damage from the protests led by Husain resulted in 13 arrests and over $100,000 in <a href="https://nypost.com/2020/02/15/nyu-professor-founded-anarchist-group-that-attacked-subways-last-month/">damages</a> to the NYC subway system.

As a member of NYC Solidarity With Palestine, Husain is known for using his position to entwine his anti-police and anti-Israel views. Husain projected his radicalism at the June “No To Annexation” rally, hosted by the anti-Israel group <a href="https://www.wolpalestine.com/about">Within Our Lifetimes</a>. Husain can be seen telling the crowd that police "are our enemy" in a video captured by the Middle-East watchdog the <a href="https://www.memri.org/tv/no-to-annexation-anti-israel-rally-abolish-police-israel-american-government-death-to-america">Middle East Research Institute</a>.

At an Al-Quds Day rally in 2016, Husain spoke <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1lhMCj4ESw&amp;feature=youtu.be&amp;t=325">glowingly</a> of Islamic Jihadists.

<a href="https://as.nyu.edu/content/nyu-as/as/faculty/ruth-ben-ghiat.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Ruth Ben-Ghiat</a> is a Professor of Italian and History at <a href="https://as.nyu.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York University</a>. Her <a href="https://as.nyu.edu/content/nyu-as/as/faculty/ruth-ben-ghiat.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">professional biography lists her as an expert on fascism, authoritarianism, war, propaganda, and Donald Trump.</a> She is the author of the book, “<a href="https://www.amazon.com/Strongmen-Mussolini-Present-Ruth-Ben-Ghiat/dp/1324001542" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Strongman: From Mussolini to the Present</a>,” and frequently makes appearances on CNN and MSNBC.

Dr. Ben-Ghiat frequently criticizes conservatives, characterizing them as violent and an outright threat to democracy. She additionally alleges that supporters of the second-amendment birthed a culture that directly resulted in the January 6th “insurrection.”

In an article for CNN—titled, “Parental control is a smokescreen tactic for right-wing activists”—Dr. Ben-Ghiat <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2021/10/14/opinions/parental-control-smoke-screen-right-wing-activists-ben-ghiat/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">denounces parents who object to COVID-19 restrictions in schools</a>.

She is referring to <a href="https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/orange-county-parents-protest-vaccine-mandates-at-school-board-meeting/ar-AAPZFid" target="_blank" rel="noopener">nation-wide protests occurring at county and district school boards</a>. Peaking during the Fall 2021 semester, parents with <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/education/2021/11/03/virginia-parents-democrats-crt-transgender-policies/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">school-age children are vocally objecting to mandatory masking, COVID-19 vaccinations, and curriculum containing elements of critical race theory.</a> The epicenter of protests against county school boards stemmed from Loudon County, which saw Board Members <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/10/27/loudoun-county-parents-demand-resignations-over-sexual-assault/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allegedly participate in a cover-up of a sexual assault in a local high school.</a>

Dr. Ben-Ghiat describes these parents as elements of the “authoritarian culture” that is eroding democracy. She specifically cites their opposition to mandatory masking and vaccination of children, alleging it stems from a “Q-Anon” belief.

She states that “anti-vaccine militants” and “white-christian evangelicals” are using “parental rights” as a smokescreen to abolish private education. She decries parents allegedly “censoring” books that would teach children about the “centrality of racism and slavery” to this country’s founding. She further criticizes calls for parental control in education, describing it as the installation of “authoritarian culture” in towns and local school boards.

In a separate article for the Washington Post—titled,”<a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2021/10/26/gun-violence-authoritarianism-normalization/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">America’s Gun Culture is Priming Us for Authoritarianism</a>,”—Dr. Ben-Ghiat alleges the Capitol Riots are the inevitable result of an armed citizenry.

She is referring to the incident surrounding January 6, 2021 at the Capital <a href="https://www.npr.org/2021/02/09/965472049/the-capitol-siege-the-arrested-and-their-stories" target="_blank" rel="noopener">in which a number of protestors breached the Capitol’s Doors during certification of the 2020 Presidential Election</a>, some violently so. Despite claims to the contrary, even the FBI has determined that <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/fbi-confirms-there-was-no-insurrection-on-january-6" target="_blank" rel="noopener">no evidence exists that any rioters coordinated to commit an “insurrection.</a>”

Dr. Ben-Ghiat alleges that general access to lethal weapons enables “mass death” and a “democratic decline” in America. She bizarrely connects the January 6th “insurrection” to civilian ownership of firearms, alleging the later enables “mass death” and desensitizes others to human life.

Dr. Ben-Ghiat further alleges that gun owners are willing to harm others in exchange for their freedoms, alleging that no loss of life seems to deter them:

She then connects gun ownership to a rise of fascism in America, alleging that dictators controlled masses through a climate of fear and mass death. She states that gun owners are using this same formula to encourage “fundamentalist and cult ideologies'':

<a href="https://its.law.nyu.edu/facultyprofiles/index.cfm?fuseaction=profile.overview&amp;personid=47170" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Deborah Archer</a> is a Professor of Clinical Law and Co-Faculty Director of the Center on Race, Inequity, and the law at NYU School of Law. Courses taught by Archer include the titles “Race and Inequality Colloquium”, “Civil Rights Clinic Seminar”, and “Critical Race Theory Seminar.” The <a href="https://its.law.nyu.edu/courses/description.cfm?id=29639" target="_blank" rel="noopener">description for CRT Seminary</a> says,

“This seminar explores Critical Race Theory, a movement that examines the relationship among race, racism, and the U.S. legal system and the role of law in constructing and upholding racial hierarchy…We will also consider the theoretical promises of CRT, its application to the law, and its practical and theoretical limitations in addressing contemporary legal issues.”

In 2020, Archer published “<a href="https://cdn.vanderbilt.edu/vu-wp0/wp-content/uploads/sites/278/2020/10/19130728/White-Mens-Roads-Through-Black-Mens-Homes-Advancing-Racial-Equity-Through-Highway-Reconstruction.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">White Men’s Road Through Black Men’s Homes”: Advancing Racial Equity Through Highway Reconstruction</a>” in the Vanderbilt Law Review. The paper discusses segregated public transportation in the United States prior to Civil Rights reform. Archer’s introduction says,

“The passage of the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956, popularly known as the National Interstate and Defense Highways Act or the Interstate Highway Act, buoyed both highway construction and the destruction of Black communities. Often under the guise of ‘slum removal,’ federal and state officials' purposes targeted Black communities to make a way for massive highway projects.”

She continued,

“In other communities, the highway spared Black homes but became a permanent racial barrier between white and Black neighborhoods, further entrenching racial segregation and walling off economic opportunities.”

Archer’s efforts and research to end racial segregation continue through the Center on Race, Inequity, and the Law. The Center published a video titled “The Enduring Problem of School Segregation” in which civil rights activists and lawmakers are interviewed regarding the progress of integration in the American education systems.

<a href="https://gallatin.nyu.edu/people/faculty/srl3.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sarah Leonard</a> is a part-time faculty member at the New York University - Gallatin. Her interests include feminism, history of technology, and cultural criticism. Her university profile says she “works at the intersection of old and new left-wing publications in New York City…Her writing about feminism, work, and technology has been widely published.”

Leonard teaches “<a href="https://gallatin.nyu.edu/academics/courses/2022/SP/pract-ug1460_001.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PRACT-UG1460</a>: The Politics of New Media: How the Internet Works and for Whom.” The course description says,

“We will examine surveillance historically and theoretically, with a focus on the role of emerging technologies. Leonard <a href="https://www.google.com/books/edition/The_Future_We_Want/7IYpAgAAQBAJ?hl=en&amp;gbpv=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">co-authored a book</a> titled “The Future We Want: Radical Solutions for the 21st Century”. In the introduction, she writes,

“The most grotesque feature of the 2016 election is the razor-thin spectrum of solutions proposed by the front runners to a historic set of problems…no viable candidate [offered] any hope for a radically more equal society: the policies on offer would merely mitigate the dire inequality that has been growing since Reagan…The United States is now, in effect, an oligarchy.”

In the chapter Sex Class, she says, 

“Gender currently divides the working class — women’s struggles are often pushed aside as if they are not half the population — but it shouldn’t be central to our struggle, an asset…The first step toward gender justice would require a reexamination of the nuclear family.”

After the overturning of Roe v. Wade in June 2022, Leonard — who serves as the editor-in-chief for Lux Magazine — published an opinion editorial titled “<a href="https://lux-magazine.com/article/the-next-abortion-strategy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Next Abortion Strategy</a>.” In the opening paragraph, she writes,

“Some part of me laughs as these conservatives grasping for control over women when somewhere, right now, a pregnant person is self-managing an abortion and a hundred Brett Kavanaughs can’t stop it. We’ve always had abortions and we will tomorrow and the next day.”

Leonard was featured in <a href="https://www.yaf.org/news/nyu-hosts-panel-on-sexual-reproductive-justice-featuring-professor-who-defended-violence-against-pro-life-centers-and-universitys-associate-director-of-sexua/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">an article from Young America’s Foundation</a> (YAF) after she appeared as a panel member for New York University’s discussion “Sexual &amp; Reproductive Justice.” YAF identified Leonard as a “[defender of] the actions of violent abortion activists following the landmark Dobbs victor in the Supreme Court..”

<a href="https://socialwork.columbia.edu/faculty-research/faculty/adjunct/danielle-elleman/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Danielle Elleman</a> is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Columbia School of Social Work, Supervisor of the Bellevue Hospital Victim Services Program, and the Associate Director of New York University’s Center for Sexual and Relationship Respect Services. 

Elleman is a co-host of the Center’s podcast <a href="https://www.nyu.edu/students/health-and-wellness/services/healthy-living/good-sex-at-nyu.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Good Sex @ NYU</a>, where guests join her to discuss sexually explicit topics and answer general questions from students on campus. The podcast homepage — which describes the show as “sometimes serious, sometimes funny, always sex-positive” — says,

“We aim to destigmatize conversations around sex and relationships while providing practical information to NYU students and our community. From stories of pleasure to compassionate insights, you’ll hear NYU community members discuss how they feel about their sexual journey, helpful information on the stigma around sex, education, and so much more!”

In October 2022, Elleman was a participant in NYU’s Student Government Association panel discussion on “Reproductive and Sexual Justice.” The session was closed to the general public but the description on Instagram says the event was held “to spread awareness about advocacy motives and initiatives on campus and beyond.”

<a href="https://www.sps.nyu.edu/homepage/academics/faculty-directory/19002-gabrielle-n-simpson.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gabrilelle Gambrell</a> is “an Adjunct Instructor in Marketing and Public Relations at New York University (NYU). According to her university profile, she “teaches graduate-level courses in integrated marketing, digital and social media, media relations, corporate communications and more.”

In a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mzjy8qMUNi4">program</a> for the Dr. Phil Show, Gambrell was consulted for her opinions on censorship and the effect of “offensive” tweets on a person’s job.

Responding to Dr. Phil’s question about the censorship of “hate speech,” Gambrell stated: 

“I am extremely in favor of the First Amendment…but we have seen things that happen when social media is not censored…where there’s negativity there should be censorship.” She cited what she deemed were instances of racist, homophobic, and other types of “nasty” behavior recorded on social media posts, but gave no examples.

Gambrell believes that, “In certain instances where [a social media post is] harmful, in certain instances where it can hurt people, where there’s negative intent, there should be censorship.” 

The NYU professor — who formerly held jobs in U.S. media — went on to say she feels satisfaction when users of hate speech lose their jobs because of what they posted on social media:
“In some instances where I see viral videos where someone is clearly racist or homophobic or anything nasty and then the video goes viral, they lose their job, I’m like ‘score’ because that person does not deserve to have this title which can impact certain communities, they need to work on themselves.”
Gambrell’s <a href="https://www.giftofgabrielle.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a> states that she is “a champion for diversity, equity and inclusion,” which are also problems she seeks to solve through “e​​xecutive, corporate and brand consulting services.”

Ms. <a href="http://www.jjay.cuny.edu/faculty/taryn-fivek" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Taryn Fivek</a> is an Adjunct Lecturer in the <a href="http://www.jjay.cuny.edu/department-economics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Department of Economics</a> at <a href="http://www.jjay.cuny.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">John Jay College of Criminal Justice</a> in New York City. According to her university biography, her scholarship focuses on, “uneven economic and geographic development, financialization, neoliberalism, state power, and crisis.” A belligerent activist, she frequents protests across the city and is a representative of the Workers World Party (WWP).
Formed in 1959, the <a href="https://books.google.com/books?id=6vOzIPWKrwgC&amp;printsec=frontcover&amp;source=gbs_ge_summary_r&amp;cad=0#v=onepage&amp;q&amp;f=false" target="_blank" rel="noopener">WWP is a Marxist political party</a> that draws direct inspiration from the Bolshevik Revolution and Soviet Commissar, <a href="https://www.britannica.com/biography/Leon-Trotsky/Role-in-Soviet-government" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Leon Trotsky</a>. The organization was formed in 1959 as a more radical alternative to the existing socialist and communist parties at the time. Staunchly anti-American, the WWP frequently rushes to the <a href="https://www.workers.org/2012/world/peoples_korea_0126/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">defense of the North Korean dictatorship</a>, even going so far as to claim the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnzBEbuZPIw&amp;t=602s&amp;ab_channel=WorkersWorldParty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Democratic People&#8217;s Republic of Korea offers women more rights than Western Nations. </a>
Ms. Fivek echoes the WWP’s praise for dictators and authoritarian regimes in speeches before the party’s membership. During one meeting, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmwr7SSglhM&amp;t=8s&amp;ab_channel=WorkersWorldParty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">she fondly recalled her attendance at a Venezuelan conference</a> with <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/us-venezuela-politics-idUSKBN14W2QP" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Venezuelan dictator Nicholas Maduro</a> while praising the socialist revolution that swept over the country. A separate Buzzfeed report <a href="https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/hayesbrown/a-twitter-account-that-denies-people-are-starving-in-syria-i" target="_blank" rel="noopener">identified Ms. Fivek as the anonymous author of a blog and associated Twitter handle that defended Syrian dictator, Bashar Al-Assad</a>, who is known for brutally <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/11/world/middleeast/syria-torture-prisons.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">torturing and murdering his own citizens</a>.
The WWP further deploys its activists as a contingent of larger protests across the nation. The group is in regular attendance for the riots that <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2017/08/16/woman-who-destroyed-durham-confederate-statue-is-a-pro-north-korea-marxist/?utm_campaign=atdailycaller&amp;utm_source=Twitter&amp;utm_medium=Social" target="_blank" rel="noopener">topple Confederate statues</a> across the South. WWP members additionally took part in the protests that later became known as the “J20 Riots.” Descending on Washington DC in January of 2016, the WWP and other ANTIFA-affiliated groups <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20170223112856/https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/public-safety/protesters-who-destroyed-property-on-inauguration-day-part-of-well-organized-group/2017/01/21/096678c8-dfeb-11e6-ad42-f3375f271c9c_story.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">trashed business, burned cars, and caused hundreds of thousands in damages</a> in the attempt to disrupt the inauguration of President Donald Trump.
Ms. Fivek has openly acknowledged her own participation alongside WWP in the destruction. In a video posted a week after the inauguration, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_d1UdOvdkg&amp;t=272s&amp;ab_channel=WorkersWorldParty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">she details the party’s operations on the ground while vowing to continue fighting “every f***ing day” until they “overthrow this killer system”</a>:

Ms. Fivek routinely denounces capitalism and western nations at large in other speeches at WWP meetings. Delivering one such lecture, beneath a Soviet hammer and sickle, Ms. Fivek commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution and lauds the Communist Party&#8217;s alleged contributions to world progress. She encourages the members in attendance to draw inspiration from the Soviets in order to “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJjj1EZOJzA&amp;t=402s&amp;ab_channel=SkyNewsAustralia" target="_blank" rel="noopener">smash white supremacy, abolish capitalism, and immediately implement socialism.”</a>

Despite her praise, the Bolshevik Revolution and the subsequent rise of the Soviet Union cost tens of millions of lives. After overthrowing the Russian government in the fall of 1917, Vladimir Lenin immediately set up <a href="https://www.nationalgeographic.com/history/article/red-terror-set-macabre-course-soviet-union" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a series of concentration camps, or “gulags” for political prisoners, and led the Soviet secret police in a brutal crackdown</a>—referred to as the “Red Terror”—against dissidents and political opponents. As many as one million perished before the carnage ended with the cessation of the Russian Civil War in 1921. As <a href="https://fee.org/articles/the-staggering-toll-of-the-russian-revolution/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">many as 60 million people perished </a>before the total dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.
Representing the WWP in a separate 2017 protest, Ms. Fivek condemns President Trump’s recent decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. During her remarks, <a href="https://youtu.be/QdLUHeN5I1U?t=2645" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ms. Fivek lauds the “Palestinian Vanguard’s” violent resistance against Israel</a>, even going as far as to praise Palestinian children for participating in the struggle. She further derides Israel as, “some Zionist entity” heading the biding of globalists and big banks.

Towards the conclusion of her tirade, Ms. Fivek leads the crowd in chanting, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free.” The slogan was <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/291203" target="_blank" rel="noopener">popularized by terrorist groups such as the Palestinian Liberation Organization</a> (PLO). The phrase alludes to the destruction of Israel—and thus the genocide of the nation’s Jews—between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. The slogan is thought to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/1948/08/02/archives/aim-to-oust-jews-pledged-by-sheikh-head-of-moslem-brotherhood-says.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">originate from the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hassan el-Banna</a>, who was quoted by The New York Times stating, &#8220;If the Jewish state becomes a fact, and this is realized by the Arab peoples, they will drive the Jews who live in their midst into the sea.&#8221;

Ms. <a href="http://www.jjay.cuny.edu/faculty/taryn-fivek" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Taryn Fivek</a> is an Adjunct Lecturer in the <a href="http://www.jjay.cuny.edu/department-economics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Department of Economics</a> at <a href="http://www.jjay.cuny.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">John Jay College of Criminal Justice</a> in New York City. According to her university biography, her scholarship focuses on, “uneven economic and geographic development, financialization, neoliberalism, state power, and crisis.” A belligerent activist, she frequents protests across the city and is a representative of the Workers World Party (WWP).

Formed in 1959, the <a href="https://books.google.com/books?id=6vOzIPWKrwgC&amp;printsec=frontcover&amp;source=gbs_ge_summary_r&amp;cad=0#v=onepage&amp;q&amp;f=false" target="_blank" rel="noopener">WWP is a Marxist political party</a> that draws direct inspiration from the Bolshevik Revolution and Soviet Commissar, <a href="https://www.britannica.com/biography/Leon-Trotsky/Role-in-Soviet-government" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Leon Trotsky</a>. The organization was formed in 1959 as a more radical alternative to the existing socialist and communist parties at the time. Staunchly anti-American, the WWP frequently rushes to the <a href="https://www.workers.org/2012/world/peoples_korea_0126/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">defense of the North Korean dictatorship</a>, even going so far as to claim the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnzBEbuZPIw&amp;t=602s&amp;ab_channel=WorkersWorldParty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Democratic People's Republic of Korea offers women more rights than Western Nations. </a>

Ms. Fivek echoes the WWP’s praise for dictators and authoritarian regimes in speeches before the party’s membership. During one meeting, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmwr7SSglhM&amp;t=8s&amp;ab_channel=WorkersWorldParty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">she fondly recalled her attendance at a Venezuelan conference</a> with <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/us-venezuela-politics-idUSKBN14W2QP" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Venezuelan dictator Nicholas Maduro</a> while praising the socialist revolution that swept over the country. A separate Buzzfeed report <a href="https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/hayesbrown/a-twitter-account-that-denies-people-are-starving-in-syria-i" target="_blank" rel="noopener">identified Ms. Fivek as the anonymous author of a blog and associated Twitter handle that defended Syrian dictator, Bashar Al-Assad</a>, who is known for brutally <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/11/world/middleeast/syria-torture-prisons.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">torturing and murdering his own citizens</a>.

The WWP further deploys its activists as a contingent of larger protests across the nation. The group is in regular attendance for the riots that <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2017/08/16/woman-who-destroyed-durham-confederate-statue-is-a-pro-north-korea-marxist/?utm_campaign=atdailycaller&amp;utm_source=Twitter&amp;utm_medium=Social" target="_blank" rel="noopener">topple Confederate statues</a> across the South. WWP members additionally took part in the protests that later became known as the “J20 Riots.” Descending on Washington DC in January of 2016, the WWP and other ANTIFA-affiliated groups <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20170223112856/https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/public-safety/protesters-who-destroyed-property-on-inauguration-day-part-of-well-organized-group/2017/01/21/096678c8-dfeb-11e6-ad42-f3375f271c9c_story.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">trashed business, burned cars, and caused hundreds of thousands in damages</a> in the attempt to disrupt the inauguration of President Donald Trump.

Ms. Fivek has openly acknowledged her own participation alongside WWP in the destruction. In a video posted a week after the inauguration, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_d1UdOvdkg&amp;t=272s&amp;ab_channel=WorkersWorldParty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">she details the party’s operations on the ground while vowing to continue fighting “every f***ing day” until they “overthrow this killer system”</a>:

Ms. Fivek routinely denounces capitalism and western nations at large in other speeches at WWP meetings. Delivering one such lecture, beneath a Soviet hammer and sickle, Ms. Fivek commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution and lauds the Communist Party's alleged contributions to world progress. She encourages the members in attendance to draw inspiration from the Soviets in order to “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJjj1EZOJzA&amp;t=402s&amp;ab_channel=SkyNewsAustralia" target="_blank" rel="noopener">smash white supremacy, abolish capitalism, and immediately implement socialism.”</a>

Despite her praise, the Bolshevik Revolution and the subsequent rise of the Soviet Union cost tens of millions of lives. After overthrowing the Russian government in the fall of 1917, Vladimir Lenin immediately set up <a href="https://www.nationalgeographic.com/history/article/red-terror-set-macabre-course-soviet-union" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a series of concentration camps, or “gulags” for political prisoners, and led the Soviet secret police in a brutal crackdown</a>—referred to as the “Red Terror”—against dissidents and political opponents. As many as one million perished before the carnage ended with the cessation of the Russian Civil War in 1921. As <a href="https://fee.org/articles/the-staggering-toll-of-the-russian-revolution/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">many as 60 million people perished </a>before the total dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.

Representing the WWP in a separate 2017 protest, Ms. Fivek condemns President Trump’s recent decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. During her remarks, <a href="https://youtu.be/QdLUHeN5I1U?t=2645" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ms. Fivek lauds the “Palestinian Vanguard’s” violent resistance against Israel</a>, even going as far as to praise Palestinian children for participating in the struggle. She further derides Israel as, “some Zionist entity” heading the biding of globalists and big banks.

Towards the conclusion of her tirade, Ms. Fivek leads the crowd in chanting, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free.” The slogan was <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/291203" target="_blank" rel="noopener">popularized by terrorist groups such as the Palestinian Liberation Organization</a> (PLO). The phrase alludes to the destruction of Israel—and thus the genocide of the nation’s Jews—between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. The slogan is thought to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/1948/08/02/archives/aim-to-oust-jews-pledged-by-sheikh-head-of-moslem-brotherhood-says.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">originate from the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hassan el-Banna</a>, who was quoted by The New York Times stating, "If the Jewish state becomes a fact, and this is realized by the Arab peoples, they will drive the Jews who live in their midst into the sea."

<a href="https://hhs.uncg.edu/pcs/people/egerton-charles/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Charles Egerton</a> denigrated white people during a lecture at the University of North Carolina (UNC) - Greensboro and stated that “whiteness” is a ploy to oppose critical race theory. 

His comments were delivered during a panel, titled, “Common Threads: Attacks on Critical Race Theory: Centering Whiteness.” A <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/u-north-carolina-greensboro-lecturer-defends-crt-says-whiteness-is-a-disease/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">description for the video lecture promises to unpack</a> “four central myths and attacks being used by political and social opponents that seek to demonize and misrepresent Critical Race Theory and center whiteness. ” It further reads:  
“Whiteness is defined as a false ideology that infects people of light skin which in turn supports a system of white supremacy and anti-Black racism. The various components of the fallacious attacks against CRT are discussed in comparison with the realities of what CRT is and is not. 
A slide for the lecture labels whiteness as an “overarching disease.”
“We frame these attacks in an understanding of a systematic weaponization of the Straw Man Fallacy. The presenters assert that Critical Race Theory is a powerful diagnostic and research lens that is essential to our pursuit of justice and oneness.”

“Whiteness is not true, in terms of what it imposes on us in our culture and our society. And then racism is a symptom of the disease of whiteness, really. And that’s just saying where it starts and where it leads to.”

His most recognized work, “<a href="https://www.zinnedproject.org/materials/peoples-history-of-the-united-states" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A People’s History of the United States</a>,” has sold millions of copies and is a frequently assigned reading in college classrooms. The book—which depicts America as a society founded on slavery and genocide and the aftermath of both reverberating to the present day—<a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/02/08/debunking-left-wing-historian-howard-zinn-is-like-shooting-fish-in-a-barrel/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">has been lambasted for its slanted and inaccurate portrayal of American society</a>.

Dr. Au is the author of a separate book titled, “<a href="https://www.haymarketbooks.org/books/1153-a-marxist-education" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A Marxist Education.</a>” In it, he states his intention to <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/article?id=10969" target="_blank" rel="noopener">assist teachers in resisting “capitalism” and the “patriarchy” in their respective classrooms</a>.

In an interview for The Progressive about the book, Dr. Au <a href="https://progressive.org/latest/deeper-critical-consciousness-in-education-Wayne-Au/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">urges teachers to be “anti-racist” and urges them to use their positions to fight “settler colonialism.</a>”

<a href="https://www.uwb.edu/ias/faculty-and-staff/julie-shayne" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Julie Shayne</a> is an Adjunct Teaching Professor of Gender, Women and Sexuality Studies at the University of Washington Bothell.

Shayne authored a 2020 article for Ms. Magazine titled, “<a href="https://msmagazine.com/2020/11/16/79-million-nos-mean-no-trump-rape-sexual-assault/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">80 Million No’s Mean No</a>.” In this piece, she states, “Trump’s fabricated narrative that this election was stolen from him is strikingly similar to a rapist’s upside down view that no means yes.”

She adds, “For me, the anxiety the prospect of his re-election caused took many physical forms, including nausea that felt like a razor in my stomach which made it impossible to eat.” According to Shayne, “my fourteen-year old son observed before the election was over, Trump needed to lose so I could purge him from my body: He was clearly a bacteria preventing me from eating.”

She also claims that Trump's election to president in the first place is a “massive global metaphor for rape culture.” According to the professor, “I cried myself to sleep the Saturday before the election. I could not stop thinking about the prospect of having a man with a decades-long record of women and girls accusing him of sexual assault—including rape—re-elected president.” She believes that Trump will not be able to dodge accountability once he is out of office and hints at damning evidence of Trump's record of sexual violence.

Shayne discusses the field of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies (GWSS) in an article titled, “<a href="https://msmagazine.com/2020/02/24/i-cant-believe-im-still-making-the-case-for-gender-women-sexuality-studies/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Trump Era Proves That Women’s Studies Matters</a>.” She writes, “GWSS scholars, faculty, students, librarians and staff are running full speed—creating a living archive which responds to the violent, Trump-fueled misogynist, white supremacist, xenophobic era in which we are now submerged.”

<a href="https://www.sabrinastrings.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sabrina Strings</a> is a Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Irvine.
In an interview, Sabrina Strings argues that <a href="https://news.uci.edu/2019/08/12/fat-phobia/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fat phobia is rooted in racism</a> and religion. She claims that the stigma surrounding fatness predominately impacts black women and that “it’s actually rooted in the trans-Atlantic slave trade and Protestantism.” Dr. Strings explains the stigma against fatness: “in the trans-Atlantic slave trade, colonists and race scientists suggested that black people were sensuous and thus prone to sexual and oral excesses.”
She also argues that in the modern era, “poor black women are particularly stigmatized as diseased and a burden on the public health care system.” She states, “this is only the most recent incarnation of the fear of fat black women.” Dr. Strings claims that fat phobia concerning black women did not originate with medical findings, but with the belief that fatness was evidence of savagery.
Dr. String&#8217;s book Fearing the Black Body states, “the contemporary ideal of slenderness is, at its very core, racialized and racist.” This includes the medical establishment&#8217;s “crusade against obesity.” She states that fat phobia is used to “validate race, class, and gender prejudice.”
When questioned about the alleged medical concerns that obesity can cause, Dr. Strings dismissed them. In the same interview, she pointed toward research that downplays the role of obesity in adverse health. She states, “the bottom line is this: BMI is a poor measure of health outcomes.” <a href="https://www.calculator.net/bmi-calculator.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BMI</a> is a broad classification that attempts to represent healthy weight ranges. She also called BMI medical racism and claimed that scientific practices are a <a href="https://twitter.com/SaStrings/status/1554500945630752768" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“white dominion.”</a> She ends by stating that “there have been many journalists, social scientists, and even physicians who have questioned the science behind such statements.”

Richard Symanski is a Senior Lecturer at the University of California, Irvine. In one of Symanski's introductory-level Biological Science courses, Symanski was caught on film telling the class that they should all get on the bandwagon to get guns outlawed in the wake of the San Bernardino shooting.

<a href="https://www.law.uci.edu/faculty/full-time/baradaran/">Mehrsa Baradaran</a> is a professor of law at the University of California, Irvine. According to her <a href="https://www.law.uci.edu/faculty/full-time/baradaran/">university bio</a>, Baradaran previously served as Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives, focusing on diversity and inclusion efforts. Baradaran is the author of “<a href="https://www.hup.harvard.edu/catalog.php?isbn=9780674286061">How the Other Half Banks</a>,” and, “<a href="https://www.hup.harvard.edu/catalog.php?isbn=9780674237476">The Color of Money</a>.”
Identity Politics 
Baradaran equates capitalism with white supremacy. In addition to advocating for defunding police departments, Baradaran believes that reparations to the black community are the only way to address racism in America.
In an <a href="https://www.huffpost.com/entry/us-needs-reparations-black-americans_n_5ede5dfbc5b6fb8854dd8d00">interview with HuffPost</a>, Baradaran details her stance on reparations for the black community.  As noted in the article, Baradaran was asked by a Twitter user what her solution would be to solve racial unrest, in which she responded, “Reparations.” Baradaran had previously used her <a href="https://twitter.com/MehrsaBaradaran">Twitter account</a> to advocate for reparations and urge presidential candidates, including Vice-President Kamala Harris, to adopt them as a policy.

In the same interview with HuffPost, Baradaran states that America “broke a contract with black America,” and thus reparations are the only way to provide relief to minorities. When asked what this would look like, Baradaran references her previous proposal, the <a href="https://greatdemocracyinitiative.org/document/21st-century-homestead-act/">21st Century Homestead Act</a>. The act would implement, among other things, a “progressive” tax system, school reform, regulating corporations, the “wholesale transfer” of land to black men and women, and monetary reparations.

The interview continues with Baradaran describing the act of policing as deeply racist and based on “policing black freedom” in the South during the Jim Crow era. Before comparing police and police departments to cancer, Baradaran advocates for the complete defunding of police.

<a href="https://www.faculty.uci.edu/profile.cfm?faculty_id=6635" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Adriana Villavicencio</a> is Assistant Professor in the School of Education at the University of California, Irvine. According to her university profile, “[h]er research is focused on K-12 educational policy and school practice that deepen or disrupt inequities for minoritized communities of students and families.” It also “includes mixed-method studies on turnaround middle schools, small high schools in NYC, schools serving newly arrived immigrant English Learners, and a racial justice program embedded in culturally diverse elementary schools.”

In 2021, Villavicencio published <a href="https://www.dradrianav.com/am-i-my-brothers-keeper" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Am I my Brother’s Keeper?”</a>, which is a book about “educational opportunities for black and brown boys.” 

According to the publisher’s description, “Am I my Brother’s Keeper?” “highlights the ways that school districts can embed educational equity into the principles and policies that guide their work with students, in contrast to implementing stand-alone initiatives that may come and go.” 

The publisher also states that “Am I my Brother’s Keeper?” includes the “voices of students, teachers, and administrators, [and] informs the implementation of other large-scale district-community partnerships designed to improve opportunities and outcomes for young people who have systematically been denied both… the book provides policy, practice, and research recommendations to inform the next generation of work with this student population.”

In October, Villavicencio, Dana Conlin, and Olga Pagan co-wrote an article titled <a href="https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/08959048221130353" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Research-Practice Partnerships in Pursuit of Racial Justice in Schools: Navigating a Hostile Sociopolitical Climate”</a>. The authors state: 
“The myth of apolitical education research becomes even clearer when conducting research on racism and the systemic oppression of marginalized communities. This is especially true in a political climate wherein the very definition of systemic racism and its impact on Black, Latinx, Asian, and Indigenous people are constantly contested.”
In an article titled, <a href="https://theconversation.com/why-schools-going-back-to-normal-wont-work-for-students-of-color-192228" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Why schools’ going back to ‘normal’ won’t work for students of color”</a>, Villvicencio wrote the following arguments: 
— “Research shows <a href="https://cepa.stanford.edu/content/causal-effects-cultural-relevance-evidence-ethnic-studies-curriculum">students do better overall</a> when their teachers and <a href="http://hdl.handle.net/10919/84024">the books students read</a> reflect their race, ethnicity and cultures. Yet statistics show that seldom happens.”
—“Children’s books <a href="https://readingspark.wordpress.com/2019/06/19/picture-this-diversity-in-childrens-books-2018-infographic/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">depict nonhuman characters</a>, like dogs and bears, almost three times as often as they <a href="https://ccbc.education.wisc.edu/literature-resources/ccbc-diversity-statistics/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">depict characters who are Black</a>, four times as often than Asian characters, five times as often than Hispanic characters, and nearly 30 times as often than Indigenous characters.”

<a href="https://www.law.uci.edu/faculty/full-time/goodwin/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Michele Goodwin</a> is a Chancellor’s Professor at the University of California, Irvine.

In a May 2022 article titled “<a href="https://msmagazine.com/2022/05/24/abortion-slavery-reproductive-freedom-13th-amendment-constitution-black-women-history/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Urgency for Reproductive Freedom: From Slavery to the New Jane Crow</a>” Goodwin shares her thoughts on “reproductive justice”. She writes:
“If the Supreme Court dismantles Roe v. Wade and its legacy of jurisprudence, it will bring significant harm to all women and all people capable of pregnancy in anti-abortion states, while imposing a death sentence for Black and Brown women.” 
Goodwin also states that the “Fugitive Slave Acts” are the predecessors of Texas Senate Bill 8, which bans abortions after six weeks. She claims that the bill “incentivizes private individuals to spy upon, surveil and interfere with others who are asserting fundamental human and constitutional rights such as bodily autonomy, privacy and freedom.” Goodwin continues by writing, “state lawmakers force their [reproductive people] bodies into the service of state interests.”

Goodwin adds, “Texas, Mississippi and other states with “trigger” bans make clear that the essences of chattel bondage and the draft have returned—but only for women, girls and pregnant-capable people.”

Finally, Goodwin argues, “Black women are the canaries in the coal mine, and this period marks the New Jane Crow.” The New Jane Crow is a play on words designed to associate with <a href="https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/features/freedom-riders-jim-crow-laws/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jim Crow laws</a> which enforced racial segregation.

<a href="https://eeb.arizona.edu/person/john-wiens">Dr. John Wiens</a> is a Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Arizona. A scholar of extinction and evolutionary biology, Wiens joked that Donald Trump should kill himself over his climate and environmental policies.

<a href="https://linguistics.arizona.edu/user/noam-chomsky">Noam Chomsky</a> is a professor of Linguistics at the University of Arizona and, according to MIT, one of the most <a href="https://news.mit.edu/1992/citation-0415#:~:text=From%201972%20to%201992%2C%20Professor,in%20the%20Science%20Citation%20Index.">cited academics in human history</a>.

In an interview with C.J. Polychroniou, Chomsky <a href="https://truthout.org/articles/trump-in-the-white-house-an-interview-with-noam-chomsky/">states</a> that the Republican party is the “most dangerous organization in human history.” The New Yorker also reports Chomsky's claims that <a href="https://www.newyorker.com/news/q-and-a/noam-chomsky-believes-trump-is-the-worst-criminal-in-human-history">Donald Trump is a worse criminal than Adolf Hitler</a>.

According to the New Criterion, Chomsky frequently <a href="https://newcriterion.com/issues/2003/5/the-hypocrisy-of-noam-chomsky">praised</a> the left-wing government of the Khmer Rouge and has publically disputed the credibility and existence of the Cambodian Genocide. Committed by the Khmer Rouge and its dictatorial head Pol Pot, it is <a href="https://cla.umn.edu/chgs/holocaust-genocide-education/resource-guides/cambodia#:~:text=Lasting%20for%20four%20years%20(between,following%20the%20Cambodian%20Civil%20War.">estimated</a> that at least 1.5 and 3 million people died between 1976 and 1979. Despite <a href="https://gsp.yale.edu/case-studies/cambodian-genocide-program">detailed reports</a> of starvation and systematic executions, Chomsky denied that any widespread killings had taken place and accused reporters of repeating right-wing propaganda and sensationalizing their stories. Chomsky attributes the deaths to US imperialism and executions of subversive elements to the communist government

Chomsky publically defends individuals who engage in Holocaust denial. As documented in Robert F. September 11 Attacks
Speaking at MIT following the aftermath of the <a href="https://twitter.com/TPUSA/status/1171500948964818944">September 11 terrorist attacks</a> against the United States, Chomsky <a href="http://tech.mit.edu/V121/N52/52chomsky.52n.html">asserted</a> that 9/11 represented, “the guns having been directed the other way.” The Tech, MIT’s oldest newspaper, also reports Chomsky blaming US citizens for the attacks on 9/11, and that Osama bin Laden, leader of al Qaeda, might be innocent.

Chomsky also <a href="https://www.salon.com/2001/09/26/treason_2/">stated</a> that the US casualties were far less devastating than the effects of US foreign policy around the world. Chomsky <a href="https://www.discoverthenetworks.org/individuals/noam-chomsky/">stated</a> that the United States was attempting to murder “3-4 million people” in Afganistan and that the strike against Osama bin Laden was “some sort of silent genocide.”

In an article published in 2020, <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/how-many-people-died-911-thousands-perishing-september-11-related-illnesses-1531058">Newsweek found that</a> “In New York, 2,750 people were killed, at the Pentagon 184 died, and a further 40 people were killed in Pennsylvania.” Newsweek also reported that 400 first responders were killed and that 18,000 survivors have been diagnosed with “9/11-related cancer.”

According to a <a href="https://acleddata.com/2020/09/03/demonstrations-political-violence-in-america-new-data-for-summer-2020/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study conducted by the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED)</a>, BLM can be linked to 95% of the riots around the country–notably in Summer 2020 following the death of George Floyd. In an analysis of the study, <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Federalist </a>found that “of the 633 incidents coded as riots, 88 percent are recorded as involving Black Lives Matter Activists.” The resulting riots were the most destructive in American history, <a href="https://fee.org/articles/george-floyd-riots-caused-record-setting-2-billion-in-damage-new-report-says-here-s-why-the-true-cost-is-even-higher/#:~:text=Only%20now%20are%20we%20beginning,%241%20billion%20to%20%242%20billion." target="_blank" rel="noopener">causing an estimated $2 billion in damages and 47 deaths.</a>

The course is officially titled, “ENGL 101A: #SayTheirNames, a Black Lives Matter Literacy.” Students will be asked to study how American values are connected to “blackness,” and “whiteness.” Ms. Chan will then ask the following:

- How does social media allow for critiques of race, gender, sexuality, and violence?

- What does it mean to say their names as an elegy, an anthem, and a language to give space for talking about Black Lives?

The phrase “Say Their Names” is frequently chanted at BLM protests. The slogan is an attempt, by activists, to draw attention to black men and women who have allegedly been murdered by police. <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/08/28/sen-rand-paul-surrounded-as-diverse-group-of-cops-defends-from-mob/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Senator Rand Paul was assaulted in August of 2020 by a mob yelling “[Brianna Taylor] Say Her Name!</a>”

Taylor, whose name is depicted in the banner of the course’s announcement, was reportedly dealing narcotics with her boyfriend–Kenneth Walker—at the time of her death. <a href="https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2020/09/the_truth_finally_emerges_about_breonna_taylors_death.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Walker opened fire on cops executing a search warrant on his apartment</a>, resulting in Breonna (who was present) dying in the crossfire.

Listed alongside the announcement banner are the course’s assigned texts. Those enrolled are required to read the following:

- Beyonce’s “Formation.” <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2016/02/08/2970258/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The song is a tribute to the Marxist, Black Panther Party</a>.

- Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright.” <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/kendrick-lamar-alright-2016-10?op=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The song is frequently sung at BLM protests</a>.

- Ta-Nehisi Coates’s “A Letter to My Son.” Coates authors a hypothetical letter to inform his son that he will grow up in a country that will <a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/07/tanehisi-coates-between-the-world-and-me/397619/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">oppress him because of his skin color</a>. Coates himself once described <a href="https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/07/the-toxic-world-view-of-ta-nehisi-coates-120512/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">9/11 first responders as “menaces of nature</a>.”

The course further promises to help students improve their writing skills by crafting a social narrative based on their “own social justice.” The class itself <a href="https://catalog.arizona.edu/policy/foundations-writing-requirement" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fulfills a Foundations Writing Requirement</a> for the University, which students are required to complete in order to graduate.

<a href="https://gws.arizona.edu/user/susan-stryker-phd" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Susan Stryker</a> is “Professor Emerita” of Gender and Women’s Studies at the University of Arizona. According to her university profile, “Since retiring from UofA, [Stryker] has been Presidential Fellow and Visiting Professor of Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies at Yale University (2019-2020) and Barbara Lee Distinguished Chair in Women’s Leadership, Mills College (2020-2022).”

Stryker is working on a book titled “Changing Gender: A Trans History of North America from Colonization to the Present.” In a November lecture delivered at the <a href="https://flathatnews.com/2022/11/15/distinguished-professor-author-dr-susan-stryker-gives-lecture-on-sex-and-race-classification-in-colonial-anglo-america/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">College of William and Mary</a>, Stryker explained his method in writing the book:
 “I draw from both scholarship and cultural theory to inform the stories that I tell in my book about gender-changing people over the last 400 years, through which I demonstrate how the social system of gender itself has changed over time,” Stryker said. “I build an argument for why, here in the late anthropocene, gender needs to change further still.”

<a href="https://profiles.arizona.edu/person/toomey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Russ B. Toomey</a> is a Professor of Family Studies and Human Development at the University of Arizona. Toomey was born a biological female who medically transitioned to male.

According to Toomey's faculty profile, "[She] teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on adolescent development, human sexuality and advanced graduate-level and applied statistics." Toomey’s lists of "expertise" includes but is not limited to:

 	<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">"Sexual orientation and gender diversity: identity development, minority stress, and resilience”</li>
 	<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">“Intersections of multiple forms of minority stress” </li>
 	<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">“Sociocultural and contextual influences on health and development”</li>
 	<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">“Adolescent/youth development”</li>
</ul>
In  2021, Toomey wrote an article titled, “<a href="https://www.researchgate.net/publication/350641796_Advancing_Research_on_Minority_Stress_and_Resilience_in_Trans_Children_and_Adolescents_in_the_21st_Century" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Advancing Research on Minority Stress and Resilience in Trans Children and Adolescents in the 21st Century.”</a> She claims that “Transgender and nonbinary children and adolescents bear a disproportionate level of poor health, and adverse developmental and academic outcomes compared to their cisgender peers.” She advocates “for explicit attention in minority stress models with gender-minority youth to the domains of (a) intrapersonal and interpersonal gender dysphoria, and (b) access and use of affirmative and comprehensive health care.”

In another 2021 article titled, <a href="https://www.researchgate.net/publication/356018226_Transgender_Adolescent_Suicide_Behavior" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Transgender Adolescent Suicide Behavior” </a>— which Toomey co-wrote with Amy K Syvertsen and Maura Shramko —an argument is made that “most lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youths are quite resilient and emerge from adolescence as healthy adults, the effects of stigma and heterosexism can contribute to health disparities.”

In January of 2019, Toomey filed a <a href="https://www.acluaz.org/en/cases/toomey-v-arizona" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lawsuit</a> “against the State of Arizona and the Arizona Board of Regents for denying medically necessary, gender-confirming healthcare to transgender people employed by the state,” according to the ACLU. 

The ACLU stated the details behind the lawsuit and its current outcome::
“The lawsuit asks the Court to remove the health plan’s exclusion for “gender reassignment surgery.” It also seeks the opportunity for all transgender state employees and dependents to have their claims for transition-related surgery evaluated as medically necessary under the same standards and procedures the health plan applies to other medical treatments. On December 23, 2019, Judge Marquez denied Defendants State of Arizona, Andy Tobin and Paul Shannon’s Motion to Dismiss, and class certification was granted on June 15, 2020. Plaintiff filed a Motion for Preliminary Injunction on September 1, 2020 which has been fully briefed by the Parties. The Court has taken the motion under advisement.”
“During the discovery process, the State of Arizona appealed a ruling by the trial court that the state had to turn over certain documents. On April 14, 2022, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals denied the State of Arizona’s petition, and litigation proceedings will continue.”

<a href="https://gws.arizona.edu/user/marcia-klotz-phd" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Marcia Klotz</a> is an Assistant Professor in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Arizona. According to her university profile, her interests include “critical finance studies, queer theory, sexuality studies, Marxist theory, film studies, and the relationship between colonialism and modern racism.” 

Klotz teaches a course called <a href="https://catalog.sbs.arizona.edu/?email=mklotz@email.arizona.edu&amp;_gl=1*2w0oai*_ga*MzEwNDUxNDMyLjE2Njk5MzY2MTE.*_ga_7PV3540XS3*MTY3MDM2NjAzMC41LjAuMTY3MDM2NjAzMC42MC4wLjA." target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Gender, Culture and Capitalism.”</a> The course’s description states: 
“This course explores the relationship between economic processes (especially capitalism), social formations such as gender, race, ethnicity, nation and sexuality, and the production and consumption of culture, in the various senses of that complex term.”
Students taking “Gender, Culture and Capitalism” are tasked with reading “fundamental texts of liberal and marxist theory, various attempts to integrate marxist, feminist and anti-racist analyses, and theories that situate culture in relation to industrialization, globalization, and international divisions of labor.” The course examines “case studies, analyzing the discourses of class, gender, race and sexuality as they are deployed in and promoted by cultural texts that engage diverse issues of contemporary concern.”

Klotz published an article in the “Porn Archives” for Duke University Press called,  <a href="https://www.academia.edu/15093333/Its_Not_Really_Porn" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“It’s not really Porn”: Insex and the Revolution in Technological Interactivity.”</a> She addresses the topic of “internet bondage pornography” and records the results of a study she conducted with people involved in this industry. 

The description for<a href="https://www.dukeupress.edu/porn-archives" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Duke University Press’s “Porn Archives”</a> states 
“[T]he contributors to Porn Archives explore how the production and proliferation of pornography has been intertwined with the emergence of the archive as a conceptual and physical site for preserving, cataloguing, and transmitting documents and artifacts. By segregating and regulating access to sexually explicit material, archives have helped constitute pornography as a distinct genre. As a result, porn has become a site for the production of knowledge, as well as the production of pleasure.”
According to her profile, Klotz is “currently working on a book on the affective dimensions of the debt economy, arguing that finance capital operates as a theological power in the contemporary culture. The manuscript is titled Forgive Us Our Debts: Economic Theology in the Age of Finance Capital.”

University of Arizona Professor Harris Kornstein performs as a drag queen named “Lil Miss Hot Mess.” <a href="https://campusreform.org/article?id=21548" target="_blank" rel="noopener">His recent appearance</a> at a gay bar in Texas included a drag story hour with elementary-aged minors. Kornstein’s performance caught the attention of a reporter from Turning Point USA’s <a href="https://twitter.com/DrewHLive?s=20">Frontlines w/Drew Hernandez</a> (see below). Despite multiple opportunities to explain why he believes drag shows for underaged children should be normalized, Kornstein refused to respond and proceeded to contact campus security.

Campus Reform featured Harris Kornstein/Lil Miss Hot Mess in an article titled, “<a href="https://campusreform.org/article?id=21548" target="_blank" rel="noopener">University of Arizona prof performs drag for kids</a>.” 

The Reform said, “[Kornstein] performed drag for children at Cheer up Charlies, a Texas gay bar…The performance was hosted by drag queen Brigette Bandit and <a href="https://www.dragstoryhour.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Drag Story Hour</a>, an organization that regularly hosts drag queen ‘storytellers’ that use ‘the art of drag to read books to kids in libraries, schools, and bookstores.’”

On his <a href="https://www.harriskornstein.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a>, Kornstein says that “By night, I'm a <a href="https://www.lilmisshotmess.com/">drag queen</a>, and have performed at venues ranging from San Francisco's legendary <a href="https://www.studsf.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stud bar</a> to SFMOMA, and Stanford University to <a href="https://perezhilton.com/katy-perry-drag-queens-deny-migos-drama-saturday-night-live/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Saturday Night Live</a>.” When in drag, Kornstein goes by the drag name of “Lil Miss Hot Mess.”

Kornstein has written children's storybooks about drag queens. One of these books (published in 2020) is titled “<a href="https://www.amazon.com/Hips-Drag-Queen-Go-Swish-ebook/dp/B07XDNJB14" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish.”</a> The book’s description states:
“Playing off "The Wheels on the Bus," this nursery rhyme book from a founder of Drag Queen Story Hour is a fun, freewheeling celebration of being your most fabulous self.
"The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish encourages readers to boldly be exactly who they are. Written by a founding member of the nationally recognized Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH), this playful picture book offers a quirky twist on a classic nursery rhyme by illustrating all of the ways to "work it". The story plays off "The Wheels on the Bus" as it follows a drag queen who performs her routine in front of an awestruck audience. A fun frenzy of fierceness, this book will appeal to readers of all ages.”

In 2022, Kornstein also published a similar-themed book titled <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Youre-Drag-Queen-You-Know/dp/0762475331" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“If You're a Drag Queen and You Know It.”</a> The book’s description states the following:

In 2020, Kornstein and Professor Harper Keenan of the University of British Columbia wrote an article titled, <a href="https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/03626784.2020.1864621">“Drag pedagogy: The playful practice of queer imagination in early childhood.”</a> 

Kornstein and Keenan claim that, “To the unimaginative adult (which – sigh – describes most of us), it might seem that the world of drag and the world of children are impossibly distant from one another.”  

The authors also “propose that DQSH [Drag Queen Story Hour] offers a particular kind of queer framework – what we call drag pedagogy – for teaching and learning that extends beyond traditional approaches to LGBT curricular inclusion.”

Concerning traditional gender roles and sexuality, the authors state their opposition in the following manner:
“In the USA, for example, many people learn that the most valued boy will be white, engage in rough-and-tumble play with other boys that will toughen him up and straighten him out, allowing him to mature into a man who wears a suit and tie, makes a lot of money, enters into a sexually monogamous marriage with a woman, buys a home, and has enough but not too many children. In other words, a script that may begin with gender shapes how individuals are taught to understand their expected roles in society in ways that extend far beyond gender alone. Almost no one can fully conform to the script of gender all of the time.”
The authors think that “Drag Queen Story Hour” (DQSH) “publicly positions its impact in “help[ing] children develop empathy, learn about gender diversity and difference, and tap into their own creativity.”

They also expounded on what they claim is the definition of a drag queen, along with their hopes for the future of DQSH.
 “As an art form, drag is all about bending and breaking the rules, and so its aims are totally different from a normative classroom. When a drag queen enters a (class)room, she [sic] generally intends to draw attention to herself – whether through shock, admiration, or envy of her embodied performance. There is a premium on standing out, on artfully desecrating the sacred.”
In writing the article, the authors wrote that they “are guided by the following question: what might Drag Queen Story Hour offer educators as a way of bringing queer ways of knowing and being into the the education of young children?”

<a href="https://coe.arizona.edu/person/julio-cammarota" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Julio Cammarota</a> is a Professor of Education at the University of Arizona. According to his faculty biography, “His research focuses on participatory action research with Latinx youth, institutional factors in academic achievement, and liberatory pedagogy.”

Cammarota’s profile also says he “has been instrumental with advancing social justice in education and youth development.” Julio has published over thirty peer-reviewed journal articles, with the bulk of them centered around equity, race, and critical education theories.

Since its birth, Critical Theory has been reserved for college campuses and postgraduate courses, but Julio Cammarota can be credited for bringing it into secondary schools. In his 2006 article, co-authored by <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/augustine-romero-5744703b/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Augustine Romero</a>, titled, “<a href="https://files.eric.ed.gov/fulltext/EJ759647.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A Critically Compassionate Intellectualism for Latina/o Students: Raising Voices Above the Silencing in Our Schools</a>,” Julio details how he developed “an alternative, social justice pedagogy in a high school located in Tucson, Arizona.” He describes the course further, saying:
“The school principal allowed us to work with a cohort of 20 Latina/o students during their junior and senior years, teaching them the state’s social studies requirements but adjusting the content and pedagogy in ways that facilitated the students’ critical consciousness around racial inequalities affecting their educational and general life experiences.”
Julio cited Paulo Freire on fourteen separate occasions within that same article. Freire is credited as one of the founders of modern day critical pedagogy, and Professor Cammarota works alongside the <a href="https://freireproject.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Freire Project</a> and other critical educators to advance his ideas.

Professor Cammarota’s most notable contribution to date, “<a href="https://www.amazon.com/-/es/Julio-Cammarota/dp/0816513414" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sueños Americanos: Barrio Youth Negotiating Social and Cultural Identities</a>,” is described as a study on:
<ul>
 	<li>“How gender influences social relationships and life choices.”</li>
 	<li>“How Latinos and Latinas try to maintain their distinct ethnic identity while attempting to transcend marginalization.”</li>
 	<li>“Whether the Latino culture helps young people work hard for their families and for a better future.”</li>
 	<li>“How the connections and disconnections among work, family, and school constitute formative processes that shape the cultural identities of Latino youth.”</li>
 	<li>“Concludes with a discussion of social justice education for Latino youth and how this educational approach meets their academic needs while providing opportunities for self-determination and community activism.”</li>

According to her university profile, Dr. Kraehe also serves as the Associate Vice President for<a href="https://arts.arizona.edu/sections/equity/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Equity in the Arts</a> as well as the co-founder and co-director of the<a href="https://arts.arizona.edu/racial-justice-studio/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Racial Justice Studio</a>. Both organizations are part of UA’s diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.

Dr. Kraehe’s profile also says she “employs interdisciplinary theories and methodologies that draw from the social sciences, visual and cultural studies, critical race theory, women of color feminisms, and justice studies.”

<a href="https://provost.yale.edu/people/jason-killheffer">Jason Killheffer</a> is the Assistant Provost of Academic Integrity Programs at Yale University. As part of an undercover operation by James O’Keefe and Project Veritas, Killheffer called the Constitution propaganda. He told an undercover journalist “If your freedom of expression impacts other people’s ability to engage actively in the community, to engage in their education or really take full advantage of everything that the university has to offer, then that’s when things cross that line.” In other words, Killheffer believes that being triggered by a Constitution is a valid reason for the university to step in and possibly prevent distribution.

Daniel Martinez HoSang is <a href="https://politicalscience.yale.edu/people/daniel-hosang" target="_blank" rel="noopener">an Associate Professor</a> of Ethnicity, Race &amp; Migration and American Studies at Yale University. He has written many publications and focuses his work on racism and race in politics. He holds strong opinions about conservatives and has both written and lectured several times on the subject.

The book, titled “<a href="https://www.upress.umn.edu/book-division/books/producers-parasites-patriots" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Producers, Parasites, Patriots: Race and the New Right-Wing Politics of Precarity</a>,” discusses white supremacy in conservative politics. In the book, Dr. HoSang accuses conservatives of being racist and participating in “multiracial white supremacy.”

According to Dr. HoSang, white conservatives work to maintain their economic power while also highlighting and praising minority conservatives in an effort to portray the concept that they aren’t racist.

Dr. HoSang has also recently become involved in K-12 learning. He was one of the founders of an organization in Connecticut called the <a href="https://antiracistteaching.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Anti-Racist Teaching and Learning Collective</a>, or ARTLC. The organization works with students and teachers alike to push anti-racism, and in turn, Critical Race Theory, in K-12 schools across Connecticut. In an article for the CT Mirror, Dr. HoSang alleges that “if we want to address racism in society at large, we have to address it in policing, and housing, and health care — but we also need to address it in the 3rd grade music classroom, in the 7th grade social studies classroom.”

Dr. HoSang also leads workshops for K-12 teachers that perpetuate the ideals that racism runs deep in education and teaching across all subjects. He helps teachers create curriculum centered on anti-racism and Critical Race Theory.  In the summers of 2020 and 2021, Dr. HoSang was a core faculty member of the AAPF’s Critical Race Theory Summer School lecture series for teachers and scholars. The program’s purpose is to counter conservative and republican efforts to keep Critical Race Theory out of the classroom.

According to the DailyMail, <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11418747/Yale-sophomore-student-20-reveals-hid-attempted-suicide-college-raped.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Paul Hoffman is the psychologist</a> in charge of student mental health at Yale University. Hoffman is at the center of a story involving Yale’s policies that ban suicidal students from campus. 

DailyMail said, “To return to class, [students] must reapply - writing an essay, and sending in letters of recommendation…Those who left for mental health reasons also had to demonstrate to Yale that they’d addressed their problems.”

Hoffman’s <a href="https://medicine.yale.edu/profile/paul-hoffman/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">university profile</a> says he’s Chief of Mental Health and Counseling, Voluntary Faculty for Departments and Organizations, and the <a href="https://yalehealth.yale.edu/directory/clinicians/paul-hoffman-phd" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Director of Mental Health</a> and Counseling for Yale. No further information is available regarding Hoffman’s employment.

After a student attempted suicide, Hoffman attended an unpublicized Zoom call between the student, her parents, and Yale representatives. <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2022/11/11/yale-suicides-mental-health-withdrawals/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Washington Post reported</a>, “In an interview, Hoffman and other Yale officials declined to discuss Yale’s withdrawal policies or specific student cases.”

Washington Post continued, “As soon as the Zoom call with Hoffman ended, hospital staffers handed [the student her cellphone]. She began typing out the email Hoffman had asked her to send.” The email eventually played a role in the student’s expulsion. 

Yale’s <a href="https://yalecollege.yale.edu/policies-procedures/leave-absence-withdrawal-and-reinstatement#:~:text=Any%20student%20may%20voluntarily%20withdraw,activities%2C%20or%20use%20University%20facilities." target="_blank" rel="noopener">mandatory medical withdrawal and reinstatement</a> policy says, 

"Any student may voluntarily withdraw; Yale College also reserves the right to require students to withdraw in certain cases. Students on withdrawal may not stay in residencies on campus, attend classes, participate in extracurricular activities, or use University facilities. They may come to campus only upon receiving prior permission from their residential college dean or the Dean of Student Affairs.”

<a href="https://medicine.yale.edu/psychiatry/psychology/profile/christy_olezeski/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Christy Olezeski</a> is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Yale University. She serves as the Director and Co-Founder of the Yale Pediatric Gender Program. 

In a <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/yale-professor-blasted-program-working-3-year-olds-gender-journey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">now-deleted video</a>, Olezeski states, “the Yale gender program, is an interdisciplinary program working with gender-expansive individuals 3-25.” Continuing, she says the program “helps individuals who are questioning their gender identity as transgender or non-binary” and vows to help children on “their gender journey.”

The <a href="https://www.yalemedicine.org/departments/pediatric-gender-program" target="_blank" rel="noopener">program’s website</a> claims that surgeries are only preformed on individuals over the age of 18. The website further alleges, “Social transition is the only medically accepted form of gender-affirming care–and the only form of care we provide–for that age group.” 

Continuing it states, “Some youth are exploring their identity. Others know that how they feel inside does not match up with the gender they were assigned at birth. We help sort through these questions.” 

Yale has since deleted the YouTube video in which Olezeski discusses the gender program. She has also made her personal social media pages private.

This study states that “white male privilege pervades the discipline of physics as well as the classrooms in which physics is taught and learned.&#8221;
Robertson also co-authored a study with Rev. W. Tali Hairston entitled, <a href="https://journals.aps.org/prper/pdf/10.1103/PhysRevPhysEducRes.18.010119" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Observing whiteness in introductory physics: A case study.&#8221;</a> Research analyses focused on unmasking “whiteness” in physical science programs with results showing physics degrees disproportionately conferred upon white students aged 20-24. Robertson and Hairston also “[focused] on the reproduction of whiteness in an introductory physics classroom.&#8221;

The Robertson and Hairston study also found that whiteboards “play a role in reconstituting whiteness as social organization…[whiteboards] draw attention to themselves and in this case support the centering of an abstract representation and the person standing next to it, presenting.” In <a href="https://campusreform.org/article?id=19429" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a </a>statement to Campus Reform, Hairston admitted that “whiteboards are not inherently racist,” but their prevalence and collaborative use could “perpetuate racism.”
Although case study results implicate whiteboards as a tool for carrying on an institutional tradition of white supremacy and privilege in higher education, Robertson and Hairston do not provide applicable solutions for the proper usage of whiteboards — or advocate for their complete removal from college classrooms around the country.

Tali Hairston entitled, <a href="https://journals.aps.org/prper/pdf/10.1103/PhysRevPhysEducRes.18.010119" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Observing whiteness in introductory physics: A case study."</a> Research analyses focused on unmasking “whiteness” in physical science programs with results showing physics degrees disproportionately conferred upon white students aged 20-24. Robertson and Hairston also “[focused] on the reproduction of whiteness in an introductory physics classroom."

The Robertson and Hairston study also found that whiteboards “play a role in reconstituting whiteness as social organization…[whiteboards] draw attention to themselves and in this case support the centering of an abstract representation and the person standing next to it, presenting.” In <a href="https://campusreform.org/article?id=19429" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a </a>statement to Campus Reform, Hairston admitted that “whiteboards are not inherently racist,” but their prevalence and collaborative use could “perpetuate racism.”

Although case study results implicate whiteboards as a tool for carrying on an institutional tradition of white supremacy and privilege in higher education, Robertson and Hairston do not provide applicable solutions for the proper usage of whiteboards — or advocate for their complete removal from college classrooms around the country.

According to her <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/lauren-vachon-8284b45b" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LinkedIn</a>, Vachon is a “queer activist and educator” who says her research interests include “LGBTQ history, queer pedagogy, creative writing as pedagogy, using oral histories in the classroom, and collecting queer oral histories.”

On March 20, 2023, the Kent State College Republicans <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/professor-says-its-not-about-free-speech-after-what-is-a-woman-is-painted-on-campus-rock/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">painted</a> “What Is a Woman?” on a free speech-style rock on campus to promote their showing of Matt Walsh’s documentary.

According to <a href="https://kentwired.com/96504/latest-updates/its-not-about-free-speech-members-of-the-lgbtq-community-speak-out-against-anti-trans-message-fusion-collab/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kent Wired</a>, Professor Vachon was very upset about the rock’s painting and said:
“A value that this community has and shares is a value of freedom of thought, speech and expression and that’s super important to protect. So I think it’s not to say [...] you can tell a group that they can’t bring the documentary, although it has been banned from platforms for being considered hate speech. We know that the intent was antagonism. I do think there should be consequences for that. It’s not about free speech.” 
Vachon claims, “The intent in bringing the documentary and the intent in even promoting it was antagonism against the LGBT community. Further, she believes the response from students is justified, saying:
“The natural consequences of this kind of antagonism toward the LGBT community is what’s happening, which is student outrage and planned protests and change.org petitions and pressure on the administration to address it, and [...] protect[ing] LGBTQ communities who feel unsafe in this kind of political environment.” 
Kent Wired writes that Vachon “thinks the overall treatment of trans people has improved, but incidents like the rock painting and documentary advertisement create a ‘hostile environment.’”
“This is happening in a moment that is already really scary and fraught for trans people and already a very politically charged moment. That is a scary big picture that is harming trans people right now.” 
Vachon was quoted in another <a href="https://kentwired.com/813/latest-updates/gender-inclusion-efforts-continue-across-campus/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kent Wired</a> article titled, “Gender inclusion efforts continue across campus.” Vachon said she encourages faculty members to use their pronouns in their email signatures and discussed her “inclusive syllabus.”
“When an opportunity came up among faculty to share materials on building an inclusive classroom, I was inspired by other universities and practices they had put in place. The inclusive syllabus designates space for a pronoun usage policy which assures students that they’re safe in my classroom, and that I’ll use pronouns they ask me to use.”

<a href="https://www.lsu.edu/hss/religious-studies/people/finley.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Stephen Finley</a> is an Associate Professor of Religious Studies &amp; African and African American Studies—in addition to serving as the Director for the latter department—at <a href="https://lsu.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Louisiana State University</a>.

Dr. Finley is a scholar and contributes positive articles about the Nation of Islam (NOI). He has <a href="https://laist.com/news/nation-of-islam-leader-hails-nipsey-hussle-as-a-prophetic-voice" target="_blank" rel="noopener">further praised Louis Farrakhan,</a> the organization’s leader, for allegedly brokering peace between gangs in an article for LAist.

A <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/louis-farrakhan-what-to-know-controversial-nation-of-islam-leader" target="_blank" rel="noopener">prominent black nationalist</a> that has led the NOI for decades, <a href="https://townhall.com/columnists/johnhawkins/2018/03/24/the-20-worst-quotes-from-louis-farrakhan-liberal-americas-favorite-racist-n2463869" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Farrakhan is known for virulent anti-white and antisemitic statements.</a> He has called for the formation of black militias, stating that “white people need to die,” and even praised Adolf Hitler as a “very great man” in a speech comparing himself to the Nazi dictator.

As a critical race scholar, the bulk of Finley's work is concentrated on “whiteness studies,” itself a branch of critical race theory.

<a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2012/03/11/what-is-critical-race-theory/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Critical race theory is an intellectual branch of Marxism</a>—also referred to as critical theory—that alleges that <a href="https://newdiscourses.com/tftw-critical-race-theory/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">white supremacy infects all political, legal, and cultural institutions</a> in America. Many prominent critical theorists, including professor <a href="https://www.professorwatchlist.org/professor/nikolehannahjones" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Nikole Hannah-Jones</a>, even claim that the <a href="https://www.professorwatchlist.org/professor/nikolehannahjones" target="_blank" rel="noopener">nation’s true founding year is 1619</a>—rather than 1776—when the first slave stepped foot in North America.

<a href="https://newdiscourses.com/tftw-whiteness-studies/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Whiteness studies</a>, itself a branch of critical race theory, examines the place of white people in modern society. The theory argues that white people—whether aware or unaware of their privilege—contribute and benefit from racialized systems of oppression. Therefore, critical theorists work to dismantle “whiteness” and the structures that underline it.  Another facet of whiteness studies—one that Dr. Finley subscribes to—notes that when people of color attempt to replace these systems, white people will oppose the efforts to achieve racial equity—oftentimes violently—in order to preserve their own racial privilege.

As the author of <a href="https://www.jstor.org/stable/10.5325/jafrireli.3.4.0443" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“God IS a White Supremacist</a>,” Dr. Finley, defines “God” as the current state that manifests as white supremacy in everyday life, particularly in the lives of black Americans. This state inflicts racial violence towards black Americans through institutions like the police There is no recourse for this carnage as this God-like state is “divine and above reproach” to many white Americans.

Dr. Finley is also a contributing author of the book, “<a href="https://library.oapen.org/bitstream/handle/20.500.12657/46538/external_content.pdf?sequence=1&amp;isAllowed=y" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Religion of White Rage</a>,” which alleges how white people go to great lengths to preserve their own racial privilege. Over the course of his chapters, Dr. Finley develops his own concept, positing that whiteness—and thus, “white rage”—is a religion to most white people.

Dr. Finley defines religion as a mechanism for people to comprehend their place and purpose in the world. In this context, whiteness is the framework for white Americans to position themselves apart from people of color in order to maximize the benefits of racial privilege that our society confers. This is done through a series of institutions that explicitly benefit white Americans—such as the police—at the expense of black Americans.

Dr. Finley posits that all whites benefit from and work to uphold these racist structures. Whenever they are challenged by the social progress of African Americans, white Americans will often respond violently.

The term that Dr. Finley uses to define this phenomenon is “white rage;” Whiteness causes white Americans to react violently whenever their privilege is challenged by social or racial progress.

The specific instances that Dr. Finley cites are the white supporters of Donald Trump and the “MAGA Movement” at large. He alleges that the rise of Donald Trump is a backlash to the racial progress brought on by a black president (Barack Obama).

This in turn drew a “violent response of white communities” over their perceived loss of racial entitlements.

He writes further that Donald Trump draws upon the “myth of the white worker”—or a nostalgic return to a mythical era—to “activate the white populace” to protect their privilege.

Rather than a fringe scholar, Dr. Finley’s work is openly promoted by the university. At his most <a href="https://bloximages.newyork1.vip.townnews.com/theadvocate.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/2/ae/2aed5752-7568-11eb-8871-4f0d6325ef45/6034426fa5d8a.pdf.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recent event</a>, the communications department hosted Dr. Finley to discuss his book alongside other whiteness and critical race scholars.

In a press release preceding the event, Dr. Finley characterizes the <a href="https://bloximages.newyork1.vip.townnews.com/theadvocate.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/2/ae/2aed5752-7568-11eb-8871-4f0d6325ef45/6034426fa5d8a.pdf.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">religion of the white people as the “motivating factor” for the rise in white supremacist </a>sentiment, which in turn resulted in the “Capitol Insurrection.”

Marcus Venable is a current graduate student and previous graduate assistant at Louisiana State University. According to the university’s <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20230124144033/https://www.lsu.edu/hss/sociology/people/graduate_students.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a>, his interests include “criminology, sexual assault, sex-offender recidivism, and sex-offender registries.”

According to <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/lsu-sociologist-calls-republican-legislator-f-moron-for-opposing-trans-surgeries-for-kids/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The College Fix</a>, Venable left a vulgar message for State Senator Michael “Big Mike” Fesi. Venable called him a ”f*cking moron” for overriding a bill regarding transgender surgeries for children which Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards vetoed. 

He called the Senator a “fat f*cking piece of sh*t" and said "I can't wait to read your name in the f*cking obituary. I will make a g*dd*mn martini made from the tears of butthurt conservatives when we put your f*cking ass in the ground.”

According to the <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/07/21/lsu-graduate-assistant-banned-from-teaching-over-f-bomb-filled-voicemail-to-state-senator/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Post</a>, Venable will no longer be eligible to teach at the university. However, he can continue his graduate studies. 

​​Legal analyst Franz Borghardt told <a href="https://www.wafb.com/2023/07/20/lsu-grad-student-no-longer-allowed-teach-university-after-allegedly-leaving-profanity-laced-voicemail-state-lawmaker/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">WAFB</a> that First Amendment rights are not guaranteed in all situations. Furthermore:
“If your words or your expression are threatening, if they are harmful, they are not necessarily absolutely protected. So, can LSU respond to a faculty member, albeit an LSU grad student making a profane, potentially threatening voicemail to a member of the legislature, yes I think they can. Because candidly at the end of the day, the call borderlines on a criminal act, whether it be assault, whether it be terrorizing. So, I think LSU can act, but LSU didn’t expel the grad student who is also a teacher.”
The Professor Watchlist team contacted Venable at his listed LSU address and the LSU media relations team. 

LSU media relations shared a statement with the Professor Watchlist team: 
“As a university, we foster open and respectful dialogue. Like everyone, graduate students with teaching assignments have the right to express their opinions, but this profanity-filled, threatening call crossed the line. This does not exhibit the character we expect of someone given the privilege of teaching as part of their graduate assistantship. The student will be allowed to continue their studies but will not be extended the opportunity to teach in the future.”
As of publication, Venable has not responded to the Professor Watchlist's request for comment.

Joy Reid–host of The Reid Out on MSNBC– is a Hearst Visiting Professor at Howard University in Washington DC. Reid is known to launch into partisan diatribes during broadcasts and regularly uses her platform to berate conservatives.
During the riots in the summer of 2020 following the death of George Floyd, Reid has claimed there is “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzPloMpG2EM&amp;ab_channel=MSNBC">zero evidence</a>” that any of the destruction was connected to the movement. She has claimed that when there was any violence, it was inflicted by “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzPloMpG2EM&amp;ab_channel=MSNBC">white supremacists</a>” and Trump supporters.
It is reported that there was a <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/">significant presence</a> by BLM activists at over 95% of the riots during the summer of 2020, resulting in at least 47 deaths and over <a href="https://fee.org/articles/george-floyd-riots-caused-record-setting-2-billion-in-damage-new-report-says-here-s-why-the-true-cost-is-even-higher/#:~:text=Only%20now%20are%20we%20beginning,%241%20billion%20to%20%242%20billion.">2 billion</a> in damages.
Reid has <a href="https://news.yahoo.com/msnbc-joy-reid-labels-justice-150310965.html">referred to Justice Clarence Thomas as “Uncle Clarence,”</a> a reference to the racial epithet “Uncle Tom” when discussing his court rulings.
Following the <a href="https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/james-hodgkinson-shooting-republicans-baseball-game">2017 congressional baseball shooting</a>, Reid and her guest <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGQEdDySUVI&amp;ab_channel=MSNBC">mocked the victims for holding insufficiently liberal positions</a>. She accused Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise of racism while he was fighting for his life after the attack.
In 2018, blog posts were unearthed from Reid’s old website that contained inflammatory language, bigoted statements, and<a href="https://nypost.com/2018/05/31/joy-reid-reportedly-once-touted-notorious-9-11-conspiracy-film/"> links to conspiracies that accused the United States government of plotting the 9/11 terror attacks</a>. <a href="https://nypost.com/2018/04/24/msnbc-stars-lame-excuse-after-homophobic-remarks-surface/?_ga=2.40761378.1834013034.1527547273-216432594.1517259352">Reid alleged that many members of Congress were secretly gay</a>, and <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/msnbc-host-joy-reid-criticized-jews-ariel-sharon-in-old-blog-posts/">openly mocked Jews</a>.
Once the blog was unearthed and began receiving media attention, Reid initially acknowledged that she had written the posts and apologized for her “bigoted remarks.” However, once additional posts surfaced, Reid reversed her position and claimed that she had never written the blog posts to begin with. Reid claimed on national television that <a href="https://www.msnbc.com/am-joy/watch/watch-msnbc-s-joy-reid-address-offensive-blog-posts-1221485635964">she “genuinely does not believe that“ she wrote the posts</a> and alleged that her blog was hacked. After her statement, cyber-security experts confirmed that there <a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2018/04/the-evidence-is-not-with-joy-reid/558935/">was little evidence of Reid’s blog ever being breached</a>.

Joy Reid–host of The Reid Out on MSNBC– is a Hearst Visiting Professor at Howard University in Washington DC. Reid is known to launch into partisan diatribes during broadcasts and regularly uses her platform to berate conservatives.

During the riots in the summer of 2020 following the death of George Floyd, Reid has claimed there is “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzPloMpG2EM&amp;ab_channel=MSNBC">zero evidence</a>” that any of the destruction was connected to the movement. She has claimed that when there was any violence, it was inflicted by “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzPloMpG2EM&amp;ab_channel=MSNBC">white supremacists</a>” and Trump supporters.

It is reported that there was a <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/">significant presence</a> by BLM activists at over 95% of the riots during the summer of 2020, resulting in at least 47 deaths and over <a href="https://fee.org/articles/george-floyd-riots-caused-record-setting-2-billion-in-damage-new-report-says-here-s-why-the-true-cost-is-even-higher/#:~:text=Only%20now%20are%20we%20beginning,%241%20billion%20to%20%242%20billion.">2 billion</a> in damages.

Reid has <a href="https://news.yahoo.com/msnbc-joy-reid-labels-justice-150310965.html">referred to Justice Clarence Thomas as “Uncle Clarence,”</a> a reference to the racial epithet “Uncle Tom” when discussing his court rulings.

Following the <a href="https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/james-hodgkinson-shooting-republicans-baseball-game">2017 congressional baseball shooting</a>, Reid and her guest <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGQEdDySUVI&amp;ab_channel=MSNBC">mocked the victims for holding insufficiently liberal positions</a>. She accused Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise of racism while he was fighting for his life after the attack.

In 2018, blog posts were unearthed from Reid’s old website that contained inflammatory language, bigoted statements, and<a href="https://nypost.com/2018/05/31/joy-reid-reportedly-once-touted-notorious-9-11-conspiracy-film/"> links to conspiracies that accused the United States government of plotting the 9/11 terror attacks</a>. <a href="https://nypost.com/2018/04/24/msnbc-stars-lame-excuse-after-homophobic-remarks-surface/?_ga=2.40761378.1834013034.1527547273-216432594.1517259352">Reid alleged that many members of Congress were secretly gay</a>, and <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/msnbc-host-joy-reid-criticized-jews-ariel-sharon-in-old-blog-posts/">openly mocked Jews</a>.

Once the blog was unearthed and began receiving media attention, Reid initially acknowledged that she had written the posts and apologized for her “bigoted remarks.” However, once additional posts surfaced, Reid reversed her position and claimed that she had never written the blog posts to begin with. Reid claimed on national television that <a href="https://www.msnbc.com/am-joy/watch/watch-msnbc-s-joy-reid-address-offensive-blog-posts-1221485635964">she “genuinely does not believe that“ she wrote the posts</a> and alleged that her blog was hacked. After her statement, cyber-security experts confirmed that there <a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2018/04/the-evidence-is-not-with-joy-reid/558935/">was little evidence of Reid’s blog ever being breached</a>.

Nikole Hannah-Jones is the inaugural Knight Chair of Race and Reporting at Howard University in Washington D.C.

Hannah-Jones is best known as one of the primary authors of The 1619 Project. <a href="https://archive.org/details/1619project/full_issue_of_the_1619_project">Published in July of 2019 by The New York Times Magazine</a>, The 1619 Project is a series of reports and essays that purport to document the origins of and lingering effects of racism in America. The stated intent for the project is to establish 1619–the first year that slaves were brought to the British Colonies in America–as the true founding of the United States, rather than 1776. The project’s central thesis alleges that slavery and racism are the basis out of which the United States was created.<a href="https://pulitzercenter.org/blog/nikole-hannah-jones-wins-pulitzer-prize-1619-project"> Hannah-Jones was awarded The Pulitzer Prize</a> for her work on the project. Since its publication, The 1619 Project and its authors have faced a myriad of problems, including accusations of controversial hiring tactics, false claims, and shoddy research.

Hannah-Jones elicited controversy for the publication and retraction of false information in her articles and unearthed racially incendiary remarks.

- Shortly after the publication of the report, Hannah-Jones admitted that <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/18/reader-center/1619-project-slavery-jamestown.html">hiring almost exclusively black staff was a “non-negotiable”</a> aspect when beginning to work on the 1619 issue of The New York Times Magazine.

- One of Hannah-Jones’ central claims—“that one of the primary reasons the colonists decided to declare their independence from Britain was because they wanted to protect the institution of slavery”—<a href="https://nypost.com/2020/03/14/new-york-times-corrects-the-1619-project-but-its-still-a-giant-lie/">was retracted by the paper in early 2020</a>.

- In January 2020, <a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/01/inclusive-case-1776-not-1619/604435/">numerous historians, scholars, and commentators—both conservatives and socialists</a>— as cited by The Atlantic criticized The New York Times and The 1619 Project for publishing false information about American history and slavery.

- In October 2020, <a href="https://www.nas.org/blogs/article/pulitzer-board-must-revoke-nikole-hannah-jones-prize">accomplished professors and intellectuals penned an open letter</a> calling on “the Pulitzer Prize Board to rescind the 2020 Prize for Commentary awarded to Nikole Hannah-Jones for her lead essay in The 1619 Project” because “... the article itself was false when written, making a large claim that protecting the institution of slavery was a primary motive for the American Revolution, a claim for which there is simply no evidence.”

Bret Stephens, a columnist for The New York Times and colleague of Hannah-Jones,<a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20201105003122/https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/09/opinion/nyt-1619-project-criticisms.html"> rebuffed the 1619 Project,</a> writing in October 2020 that “Journalists are, most often, in the business of writing the first rough draft of history, not trying to have the last word on it. We are best when we try to tell truths with a lowercase t, following evidence in directions unseen, not the capital-T truth of a pre-established narrative in which inconvenient facts get discarded.”

By late 2020, both Hannah-Jones’ claims and The 1619 Project as a whole began receiving scrutiny–<a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/01/inclusive-case-1776-not-1619/604435/">from both the Left and Right</a>–on a near-daily occurrence. Hannah-Jones then falsely <a href="https://reason.com/2020/09/23/1619-project-nikole-hannah-jones-1776-founding-race-new-york-times/">stated that The 1619 Project never claimed that 1619 was America’s true founding</a>, despite the fact that the allegation was printed on the front pages of the issue and was repeated numerous times in televised and print interviews.

Hannah-Jones attracted further scrutiny over a racially explicit op-ed that she had written as a student at Notre Dame University in 1996. <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/06/25/in-racist-screed-nyts-1619-project-founder-calls-white-race-barbaric-devils-bloodsuckers-no-different-than-hitler/">As reported by The Federalist</a>, Mrs. Hannah-Jones described white people as “bloodsuckers” and accused the white race of being the “biggest murderer, rapist, pillager, and thief, of the modern world.” She alleges in the same article that Africans arrived in the Americas “long before Columbus or any Europeans,” and that Christopher Columbus was “no different than Hitler.”

Hannah-Jones was originally <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/article?id=17529">offered the position of Knight Chair in Race and Investigative Journalism and Professor of the Practice</a> at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Activists and later Hannah-Jones accused the university of racism for withholding tenure. When the University finally bowed to the pressure and <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/07/06/nikole-hannah-jones-denies-tenure-at-unc-accepts-howard-role/">offered to meet her demands, Jones refused and accepted a similar position at Howard University.</a>

<a href="https://thedig.howard.edu/all-stories/two-iconic-american-writers-join-howard-create-center-help-educate-next-generation-black-journalists" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ta-Nehisi Coates</a> is an incoming professor in the College of Arts and Sciences at Howard University. He currently serves as a <a href="https://journalism.nyu.edu/about-us/news-post/2017/01/30/author-ta-nehisi-coates-join-faculty-nyus-carter-journalism-institute/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">faculty member</a> in the NYU Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute at New York University. 

Coates spent much of his professional career writing for The Atlantic as a national correspondent. In 2014, he penned the 16,000-word essay, “<a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2014/06/the-case-for-reparations/361631/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Case for Reparations</a>.” The polemic brands America as a “slave society” that was founded on white supremacy:

No American is spared from this indictment, Coates argues, as the legacy of racism extends to each white citizen: 
“The crime indicts the American people themselves, at every level, and in nearly every configuration. A crime that implicates the entire American people deserves its hearing in the legislative body that represents them.” 
Coates has further <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-atlantic-writer-says-trump-presidency-paul-bois" target="_blank" rel="noopener">disparaged whites</a>, calling their votes an “indispensable” effort in promoting white supremacy each election cycle: 

“When you ask yourself why majorities of white people across socioeconomic demographics, across gender lines, across education lines, would endorse someone who only had whiteness to offer and all you come to is tribalism. That’s all that’s left.”

Coates is most <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/ta-nehisi-coates-who-called-9-11-responders-menaces-of-nature-to-speak-at-west-point" target="_blank" rel="noopener">infamously</a> known for his 2001 book, <a href="https://ta-nehisicoates.com/books/between-the-world-and-me/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Between the World and Me</a>, where he describes 9/11 first responders as sub-human and “menaces of nature:” 

“They were not human to me…Black, white, or whatever, they were menaces of nature; they were the fire, the comet, the storm, which could – with no justification – shatter my body.”

While producing a series of Captain America comics, Coates allegedly depicted popular academic <a href="https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2021/apr/6/jordan-b-peterson-stunned-by-red-skull-hit-job-in-/">Jordan Peterson as the demagogic, fascist Red Skull</a>. 

Widely acclaimed on the left for his work, Coates was awarded a <a href="https://www.macfound.org/fellows/class-of-2015/ta-nehisi-coates#searchresults" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MacArthur Genius Grant</a> in 2015. The “no-strings-attached” program gifted <a href="https://www.macfound.org/programs/fellows/strategy">$800,000</a> to Coates for “Interpreting complex and challenging issues around race and racism through the lens of personal experience and nuanced historical analysis.

Butler is currently being sued by a student for assault and battery. She allegedly attacked the student for not transporting bugs and flammable liquids. According to the student, he was trying to respect federal and state laws regarding the transportation and removal of these specific fluids and native bugs.

<a href="https://math.hawaii.edu/wordpress/people/paharron/">Dr. Piper Harron</a> is a Temporary Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the University of Hawaii. Harron wrote an article about how white, male professors should resign or take a demotion in order to improve diversity. Harron wrote, "If you are a white cis man (meaning you identify as male and you were assigned male at birth) you almost certainly should resign from your position of power. That’s right, please quit. Too difficult? Well, as a first step, at least get off your hiring committee, your curriculum committee, and make sure you’re replaced by a woman of color or trans person." She also wrote, "What can universities do? Well, that’s easier. Stop hiring white cis men (except as needed to get/retain people who are not white cis men) until the problem goes away. If you think this is a bad or un-serious idea, your sexism/racism/transphobia is showing."

<a href="https://manoa.hawaii.edu/liveonstage/staff-members/sami-akuna/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sami L.A. Akuna</a> is a Professor of Theatre and Dance at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa (UH Mānoa). 

According to <a href="https://campusreform.org/article?id=20487" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Campus Reform</a>, Akuna will be teaching a “queer dance course” at UH Mānoa. This course will be the first of its kind to be offered by any American college. 

<a href="https://www.hawaii.edu/news/2022/10/11/manoa-queer-dance-course/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">University of Hawai’i News</a> (UHN) writes that, in the course, Akuna “presents students with choreography and dance techniques that have graced Hawaiʻi’s entertainment scene through the decades, dating back to revered onstage revues in the 1960s at The Glades, a popular downtown Honolulu bar that featured female impersonation.”

UHN says that “queer dance” “can be traced back to the 1980s, [and] was born out of gay and lesbian dance clubs and ballroom culture and has been widely popularized on stage by pop artists such as Lady Gaga and Madonna.”

According to UHN, “Queer dance also features performing art forms such as impersonation, lip-synching and pantomime. The UH Mānoa course incorporates techniques and choreography created by Asian and Pacific Islander māhū (identity with male and female characteristics) here in Hawaiʻi.”

Akuna is also a drag queen who goes by the stage name of “Cocoa Chandelier” (see image below). According to his university profile, as a drag queen, Akuna “travels continuously as an advocate and spokesperson for HIV/AIDS, and is a long standing member with the United Territories of Pacific Islanders in Alliance that serves the Native Pacific Island and MVPFAFF+ community across the Hawaiian islands and the Pacific.”

The authors found that “over 90% of the 229 experts featured in 201 “Shark Week” episodes were white … and about 78% were men.”
Although the study discusses the prevalence of white men, the authors write they did not ask about the “individual racial identities of particular experts” and “may have misidentified some hosts’/experts’ self-identified race.”

This is how the social sciences define racism, not as merely the product of prejudice, explicit or implicit bias, but a system of power based on the invention of the ‘white race’ by people in power.” According to Kuilema, any institution, including Congress and the college itself, that was founded by white people is inherently an example of white privilege.

<a href="http://sociology.uoregon.edu/profile/jfoster/">Dr. John Bellamy Foster</a> is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Oregon and editor of the Marxist magazine &#8220;Monthly Review.” He advocates a “red-green” alliance to abolish capitalism and considers the collapse of the Soviet empire a setback for human progress. Foster advocates what he calls &#8220;the socialization of nature,” explaining that &#8220;the more that nature is placed under the protection of people in general through democratic processes that determine the rules of sustainability, the better things are going to be.&#8221; Government, in other words, should “own” nature.

In April of 2020, <a href="https://newrepublic.com/article/157505/morbid-ideology-behind-drive-reopen-america" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Lowndes published an article</a> in the New Republic bashing conservative officials and citizens alike for their “dangerous views” on COVID-19. In the article, he accuses conservatives in the U.S. House of Representatives of being “pathological” for their refusal to wear masks when voting on the coronavirus relief bill. He also claims conservatives only want the country to remain open to “keep the current wealth stratifications in place and protect the rich from economic harm.”
Many articles and research publications written during lockdowns detailed how <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/13/business/small-businesses-coronavirus.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">small businesses would simply not be able to survive</a> if they continued to be locked down. <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/covid-19s-toll-on-u-s-business-200-000-extra-closures-in-pandemics-first-year-11618580619" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Wall Street Journal</a> noted that roughly 200,000 businesses permanently closed because of the pandemic. Lockdowns also caused many people in the United States to lose their jobs &#8211; approximately 9.6 million Americans were let go in 2020 due to COVID-19.

Taxes should be limited only to what is necessary to fund constitutionally appropriate functions. None of these principles have any bearing on someone’s race, religion, or nationality.

In 2015, Millán wrote an academic article titled <a href="https://krex.k-state.edu/dspace/bitstream/handle/2097/32551/681919.pdf?sequence=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Contested Children’s Literature: Que(e)ries into Chicana and Central American Autofantasias.”</a> She proposes a “literary technique” called autofantasia in the article: “I propose autofantasıa as a literary technique whereby authors deliberately insert themselves within a text in order to fantasize solutions or responses to hegemonic structures.” Millán writes that “the root word, auto, suggests, [sic] the author intentionally writes from an autobiographical perspective.” This autobiographical perspective is paired with “fantasia”, which is “a form of fiction that engulfs everything that can be imagined or fantasized.” Millán uses “fantasıa as an umbrella term for what may be labeled speculative fiction or, more specifically, fantasy fiction, science fiction, and magical realism.”
According to her university profile, Millán is working on a manuscript for a book called “Coloring into Existence: Queer of Color Worldmaking in Children&#8217;s Literature.”

In 2015, Millán wrote an academic article titled <a href="https://krex.k-state.edu/dspace/bitstream/handle/2097/32551/681919.pdf?sequence=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Contested Children’s Literature: Que(e)ries into Chicana and Central American Autofantasias.”</a> She proposes a “literary technique” called autofantasia in the article: “I propose autofantasıa as a literary technique whereby authors deliberately insert themselves within a text in order to fantasize solutions or responses to hegemonic structures.” Millán writes that “the root word, auto, suggests, [sic] the author intentionally writes from an autobiographical perspective.” This autobiographical perspective is paired with “fantasia”, which is “a form of fiction that engulfs everything that can be imagined or fantasized.” Millán uses “fantasıa as an umbrella term for what may be labeled speculative fiction or, more specifically, fantasy fiction, science fiction, and magical realism.”

According to her university profile, Millán is working on a manuscript for a book called “Coloring into Existence: Queer of Color Worldmaking in Children's Literature.”
