<a href="https://polisci.ucsd.edu/people/faculty/faculty-directory/adjunct-faculty/fletcher-profile.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nathan Fletcher</a> is a Professor of Practice in the Department of Political Science at the University of California &#8211; San Diego. The University <a href="https://ucsdnews.ucsd.edu/feature/nathan_fletcher_named_first_professor_of_practice_at_uc_san_diego" target="_blank" rel="noopener">describes</a> the position as one that brings “distinguished professionals” who are “leaders in their fields.”  In addition, Fletcher serves as the <a href="https://www.sandiegocounty.gov/general/bos.html">Chair</a> of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors.
During an online strategy session with California Democratic Party leaders to oppose the ongoing efforts to recall Governor Gavin Newsom, Fletcher began his <a href="https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/communities/east-county/santee/story/2021-02-11/santee-council-approves-letter-chastising-county-supervisor-nathan-fletcher" target="_blank" rel="noopener">remarks</a> referencing the January 6th riots on Capitol Hill.
According to <a href="https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displayText.xhtml?lawCode=CONS&amp;article=II" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Article II, Section 13-20 of the  California Constitution</a>, a sitting Governor of the state may be recalled, or voted out of office, in the middle of his term for virtually any reason. An election for governor is automatically triggered if petitioners gather enough signatures to match 12% of the total voter turnout of the previous Governor&#8217;s election, equivalent to 1.5 million signatures in 2021, within 160 days of initially filing the petition. As of February 2021, organizers <a href="https://www.ktvn.com/story/43421481/petition-to-recall-governor-gavin-newsom-passes-level-needed-to-potentially-trigger-recall-election">announced</a> that 1.8 million Californians have signed the recall petition.
Fletcher labels President Donald Trump an existential threat to our country, then proceeds to refer to conservatives that are taking part in the recall effort of Gov. Newsom as “Neo-Nazis” and white supremacists.
In the Zoom <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyfhl9SLAjI&amp;ab_channel=KUSINews" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recording</a> that is listed below, Fletcher refers to the riots as “terrorism” and asks his fellow Democratic party members to denounce them. Fletcher references his combat experience as a Marine to draw parallels between his training to defend American embassies to the “storming” of the capitol by “enemies of America.”

Fletcher states that he and his fellow Democrats must take a stand against the groups that are encouraging violence on our democracy, which he lists as right-wing militia groups, the Proud Boys, and white nationalists.

As <a href="https://www.sandiegocounty.gov/general/bos.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chair</a> of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, Fletcher <a href="https://www.kusi.com/hundreds-of-san-diego-businesses-may-have-to-close-their-doors-for-good/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">has called</a> for restaurants in the county to close in order to limit the spread of COVID-19 and has imposed significant restrictions on those that are still able to remain open. Fletcher has <a href="https://timesofsandiego.com/politics/2020/05/22/supervisor-fletcher-restaurants-that-flout-distancing-rules-will-be-closed/">even threatened</a> restaurants that flout the county’s restrictions with closure via a public health order if they do not comply with the restrictions. According to CBS, Fletcher <a href="https://www.cbs8.com/article/news/health/coronavirus/board-of-supervisors-holding-closed-door-meeting-to-discuss-judges-restaurant-ruling/509-69081692-f027-4e5b-b971-b49c0badbc71" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cited</a> CDC data in a Facebook post that allegedly demonstrates that the virus is more likely to spread in restaurants.
While closing restaurants due to Covid, Fletcher claimed that Black Lives Matter (BLM) Protests do not spread the virus. In a <a href="https://twitter.com/nathanfletcher/status/1277753711419219968">tweet</a>, Fletcher claims that there are no outbreaks associated with any of the protests.

In his capacity as a Supervisor, Fletcher asked the Board to issue a resolution declaring racism a “public health crisis”. Dr. Brittany M. Williams is the <a href="https://www.uvm.edu/cess/profiles/brittany-brit-m-williams">Assistant Professor of Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration for the University of Vermont</a>. She specializes in student development theory and organizational theory, with an emphasis on Black women and girls, racial and identity development, social class, and classism in education.

Dr. Williams has published several articles covering diversity on college campuses. In 2021, she co-authored <a href="https://psycnet.apa.org/record/2021-76822-001?doi=1">Melanin messages: Black college women’s experiences and reflections on navigating colorism</a> which was published in the <a href="https://www.apa.org/pubs/journals/dhe">Journal of Diversity in Higher Education.</a> The paper focuses on socialization and messaging through skin complexion. It also encourages professors to offer “programs and resources inclusive of nuanced experiences of Black college women to avoid reaffirming colorism.”

Dr. Williams is also the co-founder of two online communities. <a href="https://twitter.com/sisterphd">#SisterPhD</a> is a Twitter page for “Black women in higher education and student affairs.” <a href="https://twitter.com/CiteASista">#CiteASista</a> is a Twitter chat forum that evolved into a <a href="https://citeasista.com/about/">website that offers a Black feminist perspective</a> on Black women in the workplace and gives others an opportunity to give credit to Black women around the world. She launched the organization after attending courses that encouraged and fostered discussions on white supremacy and white privilege in higher education.

As a “disrupter of ‘white supremacy and white feminism,’” Dr. Williams encourages colleges to create inclusive courses and programs that will draw more people of color to university campuses. Charles Strozier

<a href="https://www.jjay.cuny.edu/cot/staff">Dr. Charles Strozier</a> is a Professor for the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Dr. Strozier argues law-abiding citizens become Taliban terrorist extremists due to climate change. Strozier is a proponent of the idea that the number-one national security threat is climate change, a view espoused by Bernie Sanders among others. He asks, along with his research partner Kelly Berkel, “If more Americans knew how glacial melt contributes to catastrophic weather in Afghanistan—potentially strengthening the Taliban and imperiling Afghan girls who want to attend school—would we drive more hybrids and use millions fewer plastic bags?”

John Jay College

<a href="http://www.jjay.cuny.edu/faculty/taryn-fivek">Taryn Fivek</a> is an adjunct professor of Economics at John Jay College in New York City. A fanatical activist, she regularly makes appearances at demonstrations and travels frequently for lectures across the country on behalf of the Workers World Party (WWP).

Formed in 1959, the <a href="https://books.google.com/books?id=6vOzIPWKrwgC&amp;printsec=frontcover&amp;source=gbs_ge_summary_r&amp;cad=0#v=onepage&amp;q&amp;f=false">WWP is a Marxist party</a> inspired by the Bolshevik Revolution and Leon Trotsky. The WWP presented itself as a more radical alternative to the socialist parties of the time. The WWP deploys activists to demonstrations all over the country, including the 2017 Inauguration Day riots (<a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/public-safety/protesters-who-destroyed-property-on-inauguration-day-part-of-well-organized-group/2017/01/21/096678c8-dfeb-11e6-ad42-f3375f271c9c_story.html?utm_term=.2647d2b32eb6">J20 Riots</a>), and marches to <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2017/08/16/woman-who-destroyed-durham-confederate-statue-is-a-pro-north-korea-marxist/?utm_campaign=atdailycaller&amp;utm_source=Twitter&amp;utm_medium=Social">topple Confederate statues</a>. Staunchly anti-American, the WWP frequently <a href="https://www.workers.org/2012/world/peoples_korea_0126/">defends the North Korean dictatorship</a>, claiming the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnzBEbuZPIw&amp;t=602s&amp;ab_channel=WorkersWorldParty">DPRK offers women more rights than Western Nations. </a>

Fivek is a frequent speaker at WWP meetings and often supports replacing capitalism with communism.  She has admitted to her involvement in the organization of the  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0wZV5nB6Sg&amp;t=5s&amp;ab_channel=WorkersWorldParty">J20 Riots</a>, claiming “only communism can smash fascism.”

Fivek has spoken fondly of <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmwr7SSglhM&amp;t=8s&amp;ab_channel=WorkersWorldParty">attending Venezuelan conferences with dictator Nicholas Maduro</a>. A <a href="https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/hayesbrown/a-twitter-account-that-denies-people-are-starving-in-syria-i">2016 Buzzfeed report</a> identified Fivek as the anonymous author of a blog and associated Twitter handle that defended Syrian dictator Bashar Al-Assad, who is known for brutally <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/11/world/middleeast/syria-torture-prisons.html">torturing and murdering Syrian citizens</a>.

Speaking before a 2017 protest, Fivek condemned President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. <a href="https://youtu.be/QdLUHeN5I1U?t=2645">She lauded the “Palestinian Vanguard's,” violent resistance to Israel</a>, praised<a href="https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/palestinian-rocket-and-mortar-attacks-against-israel"> indiscriminate Hamas attacks.</a>  She described Israel as a “Zionist entity” that is at the bidding of globalists and big banks.

<a href="https://www.jjay.cuny.edu/cot/staff">Dr. Charles Strozier</a> is a Professor for the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Dr. Strozier argues law-abiding citizens become Taliban terrorist extremists due to climate change. Strozier is a proponent of the idea that the number-one national security threat is climate change, a view espoused by Bernie Sanders among others. He asks, along with his research partner Kelly Berkel, “If more Americans knew how glacial melt contributes to catastrophic weather in Afghanistan—potentially strengthening the Taliban and imperiling Afghan girls who want to attend school—would we drive more hybrids and use millions fewer plastic bags?”

<a href="https://provost.yale.edu/people/jason-killheffer">Jason Killheffer</a> is the Assistant Provost of Academic Integrity Programs at Yale University. As part of an undercover operation by James O’Keefe and Project Veritas, Killheffer called the Constitution propaganda. He told an undercover journalist “If your freedom of expression impacts other people’s ability to engage actively in the community, to engage in their education or really take full advantage of everything that the university has to offer, then that’s when things cross that line.” In other words, Killheffer believes that being triggered by a Constitution is a valid reason for the university to step in and possibly prevent distribution.

According to the DailyMail, <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11418747/Yale-sophomore-student-20-reveals-hid-attempted-suicide-college-raped.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Paul Hoffman is the psychologist</a> in charge of student mental health at Yale University. Hoffman is at the center of a story involving Yale’s policies that ban suicidal students from campus. 

DailyMail said, “To return to class, [students] must reapply - writing an essay, and sending in letters of recommendation…Those who left for mental health reasons also had to demonstrate to Yale that they’d addressed their problems.”

Hoffman’s <a href="https://medicine.yale.edu/profile/paul-hoffman/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">university profile</a> says he’s Chief of Mental Health and Counseling, Voluntary Faculty for Departments and Organizations, and the <a href="https://yalehealth.yale.edu/directory/clinicians/paul-hoffman-phd" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Director of Mental Health</a> and Counseling for Yale. No further information is available regarding Hoffman’s employment.

After a student attempted suicide, Hoffman attended an unpublicized Zoom call between the student, her parents, and Yale representatives. <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2022/11/11/yale-suicides-mental-health-withdrawals/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Washington Post reported</a>, “In an interview, Hoffman and other Yale officials declined to discuss Yale’s withdrawal policies or specific student cases.”

Washington Post continued, “As soon as the Zoom call with Hoffman ended, hospital staffers handed [the student her cellphone]. She began typing out the email Hoffman had asked her to send.” The email eventually played a role in the student’s expulsion. 

Yale’s <a href="https://yalecollege.yale.edu/policies-procedures/leave-absence-withdrawal-and-reinstatement#:~:text=Any%20student%20may%20voluntarily%20withdraw,activities%2C%20or%20use%20University%20facilities." target="_blank" rel="noopener">mandatory medical withdrawal and reinstatement</a> policy says, 

"Any student may voluntarily withdraw; Yale College also reserves the right to require students to withdraw in certain cases. Students on withdrawal may not stay in residencies on campus, attend classes, participate in extracurricular activities, or use University facilities. They may come to campus only upon receiving prior permission from their residential college dean or the Dean of Student Affairs.”

<a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11418747/Yale-sophomore-student-20-reveals-hid-attempted-suicide-college-raped.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">According to DailyMail</a>, Hoffman said mandatory medical withdrawals are “very rarely used.” The source also said, “Hoffman said the majority of students are now able to keep therapy appointments within two weeks, and Yale is planning on increasing its mental health resources.”

<a href="https://medicine.yale.edu/psychiatry/psychology/profile/christy_olezeski/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Christy Olezeski</a> is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Yale University. She serves as the Director and Co-Founder of the Yale Pediatric Gender Program. 

In a <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/yale-professor-blasted-program-working-3-year-olds-gender-journey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">now-deleted video</a>, Olezeski states, “the Yale gender program, is an interdisciplinary program working with gender-expansive individuals 3-25.” Continuing, she says the program “helps individuals who are questioning their gender identity as transgender or non-binary” and vows to help children on “their gender journey.”

The <a href="https://www.yalemedicine.org/departments/pediatric-gender-program" target="_blank" rel="noopener">program’s website</a> claims that surgeries are only preformed on individuals over the age of 18. The website further alleges, “Social transition is the only medically accepted form of gender-affirming care–and the only form of care we provide–for that age group.” 

Continuing it states, “Some youth are exploring their identity. Others know that how they feel inside does not match up with the gender they were assigned at birth. We help sort through these questions.” 

Yale has since deleted the YouTube video in which Olezeski discusses the gender program. She has also made her personal social media pages private.

Bolsen</a>—Professor of Political Science at Georgia State University—is a convicted child sex offender who appears on the <a href="https://www.nsopw.gov/en/Search/Results" target="_blank" rel="noopener">FBI’s national registry</a>.
On June 6th, 2001, a warrant was <a href="https://www.judici.com/courts/cases/case_history.jsp?court=IL070015J&amp;ocl=IL070015J,2001CF39,IL070015JL2001CF39D1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued for Dr. Boslen by the Department of Moultrie County, Illinois for criminal sexual assault.</a> The 25-year-old Bolsen was charged with and pleaded guilty to Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse against a 17-year-old girl, with a bail set at $50,000.
He received a sentence of 180 days in jail, 48 months of probation, and was forced to register as a sex offender in addition to paying restitution to the victims. <a href="https://www2.illinois.gov/idoc/OFFENDER/Pages/InmateSearch.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">According to Illinois prison records, Dr. Bolsen has completed his parole</a>, likely before 2009.

The Rockford Register Star reports that Dr. Bolsen was a <a href="https://www.rrstar.com/story/news/state/2007/10/20/more-than-2-dozen-illinois/44636388007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Scholastic Bowl coach at Sullivan High School in Moultrie County at the time of his conviction</a>. Dr. Bolsen was also one of twenty-five Ilinois teachers disciplined within a two-year period for sexual misconduct with students or minors.
Dr. Bolsen is a <a href="https://tobybolsen.wordpress.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">graduate of Southern Illinois University and Northwestern University. He has been teaching at Georgia State since 2010</a>. He has authored numerous academic papers—primarily on climate change and was awarded the “Outstanding Faculty Award” from the University in 2015.

Bolsen</a>—Professor of Political Science at Georgia State University—is a convicted child sex offender who appears on the <a href="https://www.nsopw.gov/en/Search/Results" target="_blank" rel="noopener">FBI’s national registry</a>.

On June 6th, 2001, a warrant was <a href="https://www.judici.com/courts/cases/case_history.jsp?court=IL070015J&amp;ocl=IL070015J,2001CF39,IL070015JL2001CF39D1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued for Dr. Boslen by the Department of Moultrie County, Illinois for criminal sexual assault.</a> The 25-year-old Bolsen was charged with and pleaded guilty to Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse against a 17-year-old girl, with a bail set at $50,000.

He received a sentence of 180 days in jail, 48 months of probation, and was forced to register as a sex offender in addition to paying restitution to the victims. <a href="https://www2.illinois.gov/idoc/OFFENDER/Pages/InmateSearch.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">According to Illinois prison records, Dr. Bolsen has completed his parole</a>, likely before 2009.

<a href="https://isp.illinois.gov/Sor/Details/X01B3928?x=24289ef3-7857-45ff-8169-9a6ef5c98b62" target="_blank" rel="noopener">His official profile lists him as having committed aggravated criminal sex abuse against a victim between the ages of 13-18</a>. According to Illinois state law, an individual may be charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse if they are <a href="https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/fulltext.asp?DocName=072000050K11-1.60" target="_blank" rel="noopener">5 years older than the victim, threatened the victim, or physically harmed the victim during the assault of an underage woman.</a><a href="https://isp.illinois.gov/Sor/Details/X01B3928?x=24289ef3-7857-45ff-8169-9a6ef5c98b62" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><img class="aligncenter wp-image-2256" src="https://backend.professorwatchlist.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Screen-Shot-2022-06-10-at-3.02.40-PM-1024x461.png" alt="" width="500" height="225" /></a>

The Rockford Register Star reports that Dr. Bolsen was a <a href="https://www.rrstar.com/story/news/state/2007/10/20/more-than-2-dozen-illinois/44636388007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Scholastic Bowl coach at Sullivan High School in Moultrie County at the time of his conviction</a>. Dr. Bolsen was also one of twenty-five Ilinois teachers disciplined within a two-year period for sexual misconduct with students or minors.

Dr. Bolsen is a <a href="https://tobybolsen.wordpress.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">graduate of Southern Illinois University and Northwestern University. He has been teaching at Georgia State since 2010</a>. He has authored numerous academic papers—primarily on climate change and was awarded the “Outstanding Faculty Award” from the University in 2015.

The Professor Watchlist Team reached out to Dr. Bolsen and the Department of Political Science at Georgia State University for comment. Both were asked if the University requires Dr. Bolsen to disclose his conviction or instructs minors and/or high school students. Neither responded prior to publication.

<a href="https://cas.gsu.edu/profile/sierra-carter/#profile-publications-tab" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sierra Carter</a> is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Georgia State University, an Adjunct Faculty Member at Emory University, and a Faculty Fellow at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS at Yale University. Her work has been<a href="https://www.drsierracarter.com/media" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> featured prominently in publications</a> such as The Washington Post, NPR, and NBC News.   

Carter alleges a direct link exists between racism and the declining health of African Americans. “Racial discrimination as an acute and chronic stressor can affect development and further exacerbate chronic illnesses and stress-related disorders,” she states on<a href="https://www.drsierracarter.com/about" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> her personal site</a>.

<a href="https://theconversation.com/racial-discrimination-ages-black-americans-faster-according-to-a-25-year-long-study-of-families-143313" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A study conducted by Carter</a> alleges individuals who experienced racism as a child are more likely to suffer depression, advanced aging, and early death. She writes, “The experience of constant and accumulating stress due to racism throughout an individual’s lifetime can wear and tear down the body.”

Continuing, Carter states that her work has “significant implications” due to the number of black Americans who are killed by “racial injustice” and suffer from racial health disparities. Carter vows to interrupt racism with her colleagues so that “black lives matter and are able to thrive.”

Despite her assertions, <a href="https://psycnet.apa.org/manuscript/2019-42997-001.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">at no point in Carter’s study did she determine if the racist incidents her subjects described even occurred</a>. Incidents were only self-reported via a short questionnaire and were never independently verified. In addition, the study did not diagnose any patients with depression but still claimed that a correlation existed between those that experienced symptoms of depression and racism. The study only surveyed a relatively small sample size of 800 families. 

<a href="https://theconversation.com/brain-scans-of-black-women-who-experience-racism-show-trauma-like-effects-putting-them-at-higher-risk-for-future-health-problems-165511" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Another study conducted by Carter</a> claimed that racism alters the long-term brain function of black women. She concluded that racist incidents are far more detrimental to the long-term health of black women than traumatic events like childhood abuse, physical abuse, and sexual violence. 

As with the prior study, <a href="https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamapsychiatry/fullarticle/2782454" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a small sample size of only 55 black women was surveyed</a>. Self-reported instances of racial discrimination against participants were also never verified by researchers.

Catherine Clune-Taylor is an <a href="https://gss.princeton.edu/people/catherine-clune-taylor" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Assistant Professor of Gender and Sexuality Studies</a> at Princeton University. Her interests are focused on the Philosophy of Sex, Gender and Sexuality, as well as Feminist Theory, Bioethics, and the work of Michel Foucault — a deceased philosopher and political activist.
Clune-Taylor was featured in a Princeton Alumni Weekly article titled “<a href="https://paw.princeton.edu/article/conversation-science-ethics-and-policy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A Conversation: Science, Ethics, and Policy.</a>” Her research is described as taking “an interdisciplinary and intersectional feminist approach to the science, bioethics, and biopolitics of medically managing intersex conditions in children.” In the article, she discussed her values and views on medical discrimination against “patients of color” and those on the gender spectrum.

Her dissertation was in defense of “ethics and politics of medical production” in cisgendered people. “[The] project considers the revised treatment model of intersex conditions introduced in 2006 — which is controversially reclassified them as Disorders of Sex Development (DSDs).” 
Clune-Taylor’s <a href="https://www.clune-taylor.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">personal website</a> says she’s an Assistant Professor of Feminist Science and Technology Studies in the Department of Women’s Studies at San Diego State University. She further highlights her Ph.D. focus of “[exploring] the various bio-scientific, political, and bureaucratic efforts…to force individuals into ‘cisgendered futures.’” She also offers diversity, equity, and inclusion lectures across multiple academic disciplines.

Peter Singer is a Professor of Bioethics at Princeton University. As a philosopher and self-identified “<a href="https://longtermrisk.org/hedonistic-vs-preference-utilitarianism/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hedonistic utilitarian</a>,” Dr. Singer holds a number of controversial views on human and animal ethics. These include stances on abortion, euthanasia, and infanticide.

More than an advocate for abortion, Dr. Singer claims there is nothing inherently immoral about killing a child.

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DB5IZXGmk08&amp;feature=emb_title" target="_blank" rel="noopener">During a debate at Harvard University</a>, Dr. Singer recognized that fetuses in the womb are living human beings. However, he added people—including those not yet born—have varying degrees of value based on whether or not they feel pain.

He further claimed that only people who are fully conscious or feel pain have a right to their own lives. Abortion, he argued, cannot be considered immoral. Dr. Singer acknowledges that his stance presents a “challenging” problem regarding recently-born children.

Dr. Singer has also justified infanticide for babies that are disabled or have serious health conditions. In the 1979 edition of Practical Ethics, he wrote: “<a href="https://archive.org/details/practicalethics0000sing/page/n3/mode/2up" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Killing a defective infant is not morally equivalent to killing a person. Sometimes it is not wrong at all</a>.”

Many have accused <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/human-exceptionalism/peter-singer-eugenicist-wesley-j-smith/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Singer of being sympathetic to eugenics</a> due to his apparent empathy towards parents who <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/human-exceptionalism/peter-singer-eugenicist-wesley-j-smith/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">select particular genes in human fetuses for more desirable children</a>.

During a 2015 radio interview, Dr. Singer argued that it was “reasonable” <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/ethics-professor-kill-severely-disabled-infants-under-obamacare/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">to euthanize disabled infants to prevent higher premiums under Obamacare</a>. In a Q&amp;A hosted on his personal website, Dr. Singer <a href="https://petersinger.info/faq/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claims that newborns are not persons as they have “no sense of the future</a>.”

“[Killing] a newborn baby is never equivalent to killing a person, that is, a being who wants to go on living.”

Dr. Singer added that although killing an infant is a “terrible thing to do,” parents should have the freedom to end the life of their newborn. He added that the presiding doctor would then take steps to “swiftly and humanely” end the child’s life.

According to his biography, Dr. Singer <a href="https://uchv.princeton.edu/people/peter-singer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">has been teaching at Princeton since 1999</a>. He authored other books on utilitarianism, veganism, and animal liberation.

As a Professor and political commentator, Dr. Taylor offers her opinion across a wide variety of social media platforms and media outlets. She is known to condemn capitalism, the United States, and Israel while lauding socialism and the Soviet Union.

In one tweet, she alleges that Israel is attempting to “annihilate” Palestine:

Dr. Taylor likewise alleges the United States is a brutally racist and oppressive society. In an article for the Marxist publication, Jacobin,<a href="https://www.jacobinmag.com/2019/05/reparations-slavery-racism-united-states-foundation" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> she depicts racism as foundational to the United States</a>.

A frequent critic of policing, which she views as systemic racism embedded in the United States, Dr. Taylor lauds the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement as a “liberation struggle.” With communist, vice-presidential candidate, and Black Panther Party member, <a href="https://www.professorwatchlist.org/professor/angeladavis" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Angela Davis</a>, writing the forward, Dr. Taylor’s book—<a href="https://www.haymarketbooks.org/books/1646-from-blacklivesmatter-to-black-liberation-expanded-second-edition">From #BlackLivesMatter to Black Liberation</a>—she praises the movement for having “awakened a new generation of activists” that will fight for “black liberation.”

BLM was <a href="https://blacklivesmatter.com/six-years-strong/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">founded following the death</a> of Treyvon Martin and the trial of George Zimmerman for his murder. After a jury acquitted Zimmerman in 2013, <a href="https://patrissecullors.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Patrice Cullors</a> joined with <a href="https://aliciagarza.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alicia Garza</a> and <a href="https://www.opaltometi.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Opal Tometi</a> to found an organization, <a href="https://blacklivesmatter.com/about/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">as stated on its website</a>.

“....whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on black communities by the state and vigilantes.” 

BLM came to further prominence following the <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/gunshots-looting-after-grand-jury-in-ferguson-case-does-not-indict-officer-in-michael-brown-shooting" target="_blank" rel="noopener">riots in Ferguson, Missouri</a> in reaction to the acquittal of police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting of robbery suspect, Michael Brown. Although later determined that Brown had attacked the officer, <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/hands-up-dont-shoot-makes-wapos-list-of-outlandish-claims" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BLM was instrumental in spreading the lie</a> that Brown was shot at point-blank range with his hands raised.

In an interview with the progressive news outlet, DemocracyNow, in June of 2020, Dr. Taylor praises the BLM movement’s fight against systemic racism, stating that our nation is witnessing <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMOG-W_X9m8&amp;ab_channel=DemocracyNow%21" target="_blank" rel="noopener">an “uprising” against “racial terrorism” being inflicted upon black Americans by police officers</a>.

According to a <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study conducted by the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED)</a>, BLM can be linked to 95% of the riots around the country–notably in Summer 2020 following the death of George Floyd. In an analysis of the study, <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/">The Federalist</a> found, “of the 633 incidents coded as riots, 88 percent are recorded as involving Black Lives Matter Activists.” The resulting riots were the largest in American history, <a href="https://fee.org/articles/george-floyd-riots-caused-record-setting-2-billion-in-damage-new-report-says-here-s-why-the-true-cost-is-even-higher/#:~:text=Only%20now%20are%20we%20beginning,%241%20billion%20to%20%242%20billion." target="_blank" rel="noopener">causing an estimated $2 billion in damages and 47 deaths.</a>

In separate Twitter posts, Dr. Taylor has condemned capitalism as being inherently exploitative while promoting the merits of socialism.

Dr. Taylor’s positive view on socialism extends to the embrace of communist dictatorships. While attending the “This is Socialism!” conference in 2017, Dr. Taylor delivered a speech that <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndSASqMLYMg&amp;ab_channel=WeAreManyMedia" target="_blank" rel="noopener">praised the Russian Revolution</a> for its inspiration towards American communists and "revolution" against capitalism.

Despite her praise, the Bolshevik Revolution and the resulting formation of the Soviet Union cost millions of lives. Upon overthrowing the Russian government in October 1917, Vladimir Lenin immediately set up <a href="https://duckduckgo.com/?q=lenin%27s+red+terror&amp;atb=v263-1&amp;ia=web" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a series of concentration camps for political prisoners and led the Soviet secret police in a brutal crackdown</a> known as the “Red Terror.” As many as one million people perished before the carnage ended with the cessation of the Russian Civil War in 1921. Over the course of the USSR's existence, as <a href="https://fee.org/articles/the-staggering-toll-of-the-russian-revolution/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">many as 60 million people perished under Soviet rule</a>.

In recognition of her work, Dr. Taylor was <a href="https://aas.princeton.edu/news/2021-macarthur-fellow-keeanga-yamahtta-taylor" target="_blank" rel="noopener">awarded a MacArthur Foundation “Genius” Award</a> in 2021. The <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2021/09/28/us/macarthur-genius-grant-winners-2021/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">foundation grants $625,000</a> for each recipient's <a href="https://www.macfound.org/programs/fellows/strategy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“exceptional creativity” and “track record of significant accomplishments.”</a>

When asked, “What is the value of studying gender and sexuality studies in the current era in America?,” Best said:
“It’s interdisciplinary in that it’s connected to more historically formal disciplines like sociology, political science and religion, but draws each in robust and engaging ways. I think about what’s happening with the Black Lives Matter movement, for example. Some of that activist work is born from the scholarship within the intellectual orbit — scholars who have centered issues of gender and sexuality in its inextricable connection to race, class, location and ethnicity.” 
He continued,
“So, when I see those protests, I feel quite proud that some of what the leaders say is born from the discourses of feminism, Black feminism, queer studies, and from gender and sexuality studies. So, I would say this is one of the most exciting times to be involved in this field.”
Best also holds a Ph.D. in Religion. His areas of research and teaching include African American religious history, religion and literature, Pentecostalism, and Womanist theology. One course Best teaches, <a href="https://religion.princeton.edu/courses/spring-2022/black-women-and-spiritual-narrative" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Black Women and Spiritual Narrative</a>,” focuses on “the hypothesis that religious metaphor and symbolism have figured prominently in Black women’s writing across literary genres.” He’s currently working on a book entitled “The Spiritual Capital of Black America: Twentieth Century Harlem’s World of Religion and Churches.”

Catherine Clune-Taylor is an <a href="https://gss.princeton.edu/people/catherine-clune-taylor" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Assistant Professor of Gender and Sexuality Studies</a> at Princeton University. Her interests are focused on the Philosophy of Sex, Gender and Sexuality, as well as Feminist Theory, Bioethics, and the work of Michel Foucault — a deceased philosopher and political activist.

Clune-Taylor was featured in a Princeton Alumni Weekly article titled “<a href="https://paw.princeton.edu/article/conversation-science-ethics-and-policy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A Conversation: Science, Ethics, and Policy.</a>” Her research is described as taking “an interdisciplinary and intersectional feminist approach to the science, bioethics, and biopolitics of medically managing intersex conditions in children.” In the article, she discussed her values and views on medical discrimination against “patients of color” and those on the gender spectrum.

Her Princeton <a href="https://gss.princeton.edu/people/catherine-clune-taylor" target="_blank" rel="noopener">profile</a> states she earned a Ph.D. from the Department of Philosophy at the University of Alberta. Her dissertation was in defense of “ethics and politics of medical production” in cisgendered people. “[The] project considers the revised treatment model of intersex conditions introduced in 2006 — which is controversially reclassified them as Disorders of Sex Development (DSDs).” 

Clune-Taylor’s <a href="https://www.clune-taylor.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">personal website</a> says she’s an Assistant Professor of Feminist Science and Technology Studies in the Department of Women’s Studies at San Diego State University. She further highlights her Ph.D. focus of “[exploring] the various bio-scientific, political, and bureaucratic efforts…to force individuals into ‘cisgendered futures.’” She also offers diversity, equity, and inclusion lectures across multiple academic disciplines.

Anne McClintock is Princeton University’s <a href="https://gss.princeton.edu/people/anne-mcclintock" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A. Barton Hepburn Professor of Gender and Sexuality Studies</a>. She’s also an Affiliated Faculty for the Princeton Environmental Institute and Department of English and serves on the Executive Committee of the Program in American Studies.

McClintock’s faculty profile says her “interdisciplinary and transitional work — both scholarly and creative — explores the intersections between race, gender and sexualities; imperialism and globalization.” Her interests also include sexual and gender violence, climate chaos, and animal studies.

McClintock is the author of “<a href="https://www.google.com/books/edition/Imperial_Leather/wRwiAQAAQBAJ?hl=en&amp;gbpv=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Imperial Leather: Race, Gender and Sexuality in the Colonial Contest</a>.” The publisher notes that the book “chronicles the dangerous liaisons between gender, race and class that shaped British imperialism and its bloody dismantling.” In one chapter called The White Family of Man, she says,
“King Solomon’s Mines was [sic] intimately concerned with events in South Africa following the discovery of diamonds and then gold: specifically, the reordering of women’s sexuality and work in the African homestead and the diversion of black male labor into the mines.”
She continues, 
“The Story illuminates not only relations between the imperial metropolis and the colonies but also the refashioning of gender relations in South Africa, as a nascent capitalism penetrated the region and disrupted already contested power relations with the homesteads.”
In 2019, McClintock was among several Princeton faculty members who participated in a campus strike. <a href="https://paw.princeton.edu/article/princeton-students-faculty-join-community-climate-strike" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Princeton Alumni Weekly</a> listed her as an event speaker in a protest to “demand climate justice.” That same year, she was also featured in The Nation’s article titled “<a href="https://www.thenation.com/article/archive/princeton-students-are-sitting-in-for-title-ix-reform/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Princeton Students are Sitting in for Title IX Reform</a>.” This protest was organized after “believe all women” posters appeared in campus bathrooms and “Title IX protects rapists” was graffitied on a walking path.

Brian Herrera is the <a href="https://effroncenter.princeton.edu/people/brian-herrera" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associate Professor of Theater at the Lewis Center for the Arts at Princeton University</a> and the Director of the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship Program. 

Herrera also serves as a core faculty member in the Program in Gender and Sexuality Studies. His research “examines the history of gender, sexuality and race within and through U.S. popular performance.” His interests include Latinx theatre, LGBTQ+ performance history, and equity and access in the Performing Arts.

In July 2022, Herrera received the Betty Jean Jones Award and was featured in an article for Princeton’s <a href="https://arts.princeton.edu/news/2022/07/theater-professor-brian-herrera-wins-betty-jean-jones-award-for-excellence-in-teaching/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lewis Center of Arts News</a>. The article says, “The annual award [established in 1997] honors individuals who have achieved excellence as college/university teachers and mentors in the field of American theater.” The award committee further notes, “Herrera’s personal impact on students is especially resonant for students of color, first generation, and LGBTQ+ students who are buoyed by the ‘representation in action’ that is generated by [his] highly participatory presence.”

Herrera has written several books and articles on gender ideology and hosts a <a href="https://www.brianherrera.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">personal website</a> that provides instructions on essay writing. In January 2021, he published a blog titled “<a href="https://www.brianherrera.org/2021/01/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">How to Write an Essay on Gender and Sexuality?</a>” He acknowledged that “students all over the world get writing assignments on this topic” and offered practical tips for arranging a successful paper. In 2009, he was published in <a href="https://glreview.org/article/article-570/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Gay &amp; Lesbian Review</a> where he reflected on his admiration for the gay activist and politician named Harvey Milk.

Ruha Benjamin serves as the <a href="https://aas.princeton.edu/people/ruha-benjamin" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Director of Graduate Affairs and a Professor for the Department of African American Studies</a> at Princeton University. Her university profile says she “specializes in the interdisciplinary study of science, medicine, and technology with a focus on the relationship between innovation and social equity.” 

Professor Benjamin is the author of several publications including a book titled “<a href="https://www.google.com/books/edition/Race_After_Technology/G6-hDwAAQBAJ?hl=en&amp;gbpv=0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Race After Technology: Abolitionist Tools for the New Jim Code</a>.” The book explores how “emerging technologies can reinforce White supremacy and deepen social inequity.”

The introduction contains a section called Race as Technology where she states that technology is “designed to separate, stratify, and sanctify the many forms of injustice experienced by members of racialized groups, but one that people routinely reimagine and redeploy to other ends.”

In a <a href="https://youtu.be/rY8RkET3KC0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">video discussing her reasons for writing</a> “Race After Technology,” Benjamin gave an example of how technology is racist. She said, “Two friends [were] using an automated soap dispenser and the soap wouldn’t come out [for] the individual with darker skin because darker skin absorbs light. So if it’s infrared technology, it’s not going to work as effectively.”

Professor Benjamin <a href="https://youtu.be/_8RrX4hjCr0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">also gave a Ted Talk</a> where she used laboratory and park benches to discuss how “the idea of discriminatory design is a global phenomenon.” She also says, “I think at the heart of discriminatory design is this idea that we can create technological fixes for social crises…we create short-term responses that often get the issues out of sight, out of mind.”

Gayle Salamon is a <a href="https://english.princeton.edu/people/gayle-salamon" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Professor of English and Gender and Sexuality Studies</a> at Princeton University. Salamon’s faculty profile says her research interests include phenomenology, feminist philosophy, queer and transgender theory, contemporary Continental philosophy, and disability studies.

In Salamon’s Introductory to Gender and Sexual Studies course, she tackles questions such as: “What does it mean to be a woman or a man? Or neither?” “How do gender and sexuality, those seemingly most personal and private of attributes, emerge from networks of power and social relations?”

Her published works include two manuscripts, <a href="https://www.google.com/books/edition/Assuming_a_Body/s-idAwAAQBAJ?hl=en&amp;gbpv=1&amp;dq=assuming+a+body&amp;printsec=frontcover" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Assuming a Body: Transgender and Rhetorics of Materiality,”</a>  and<a href="https://www.google.com/books/edition/The_Life_and_Death_of_Latisha_King/bb84DwAAQBAJ?hl=en&amp;gbpv=1&amp;dq=the+life+and+death+of+latisha+king&amp;printsec=frontcover" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> “The Life and Death of Latisha King: A Critical Phenomenology of Transphobia."</a> She also published a peer-reviewed article titled <a href="https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/The-Meontology-of-Masculinity%3A-Notes-on-Castration-Salamon/3784451626c47802e5acd00654de96bf5a7f8222#paper-header" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Meontology of Masculinity: Notes on Castration Elation</a>. (Meontology is the philosophical study of non-being.)

In the Meontology of Masculinity abstract, Salamon cites LGBT “scholars” and says, “Gender is a matter of behavior, but also a result of ‘the more subtle channels of posture, carriage, gaze, and manner of leaning into some (more masculine) things away from other (more feminine) things.’ [Gender scholars] call for a phenomenology of lived gender experiences, to do justice to the variety of ways in which gender can be experienced and also perceived.”

In a <a href="https://thecriticallede.com/066-interview-with-gayle-salamon-author-of-assuming-a-body/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2012 podcast interview with The Critical Lede,</a> Salamon discussed her book “Assuming a Body.” In thinking about the idea of “a man trapped in a woman’s body, and a woman trapped in a man’s body,” she said, “I keep looking for a book that was going to engage both of those things at the same time…My hope was to try to bring together some of the ideas about how we come to inhabit our bodies [and] what is the relationship between the body that everybody else in the world sees and the body that I feel myself to have.”

<a href="https://politics.princeton.edu/people/richard-falk" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Richard Falk</a> is a Professor of International Law and Practice at Princeton University and a Research Associate at the Orfalea Center of Global Studies at the University of California - Santa Barbara. 

Dr. Falk has labeled Israel a racist, apartheid state that’s committing an ongoing genocide. 

The term “apartheid” refers to the legal system of <a href="https://www.britannica.com/topic/apartheid/Opposition-to-apartheid" target="_blank" rel="noopener">racial discrimination and separation in South Africa</a> from the 1950s to 1994. He has further alleged the true identity of the 9/11 hijackers has been covered up and blamed Israel for terrorist attacks in America. 

In an article titled, “<a href="http://www.oldsite.transnational.org/Area_MiddleEast/2007/Falk_PalestineGenocide.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Slouching toward a Palestinian Holocaust</a>,” Falk compares Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians to the extermination of the Jews in the Holocaust. He claims that Israel’s actions are “morally far worse” than the genocides committed in Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur.

Further in the article, Falk defends the terrorist organization Hamas as the duly elected representative of the Palestinian people. He claims the group has renounced violence and is willing to make peace with Israel. 

During a separate interview with DemocracyNow!, Falk praised the group for its “spirit of resistance” and again claimed that Hamas seeks “peaceful, co-existence with Israel.”

An Islamist terrorist group, Hamas’s charter calls for the <a href="https://avalon.law.yale.edu/20th_century/hamas.asp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">destruction of Israel and the death of all Jews:</a>
“Israel will rise and will remain erect until Islam eliminates it as it had eliminated its predecessors.” - Hamas Charter
The organization is known to <a href="https://palwatch.org/page/18217" target="_blank" rel="noopener">deploy suicide bombers</a> and <a href="https://legalinsurrection.com/2019/05/prelude-to-war-palestinian-terrorists-fire-hundreds-of-rockets-at-israel-from-and-to-civilian-areas/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fire rockets</a> that target civilian areas; Hamas is responsible for the deaths of <a href="https://www.fdd.org/in_the_news/2021/05/26/faq-hamas/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">thousands of Israelis and at least 25 Americans</a>. 

Despite his views, Dr. Falk was chosen by the United Nations to serve as the Special Rapporteur on Palestinian Human Rights. From this position, he accused Israel of ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in a report titled,”<a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20170316054753/https://www.unescwa.org/sites/www.unescwa.org/files/publications/files/israeli-practices-palestinian-people-apartheid-occupation-english.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Israeli Practices toward the Palestinian People and the Question of Apartheid.</a>” 

The report maligns Israel as a “racial state” that pursues “racial domination” and forcible displacement of the Palestinians. Falk recommends that Israel be investigated by the International Criminal Court and that international governments hold unilateral trials for Israeli officials. 

He urges businesses to boycott the state as part of the BDS campaign. BDS—short for Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions—embraces the following three tenets as a feature of the campaign: 

- Boycotting all goods that originate from the state of Israel;

- Divesting all funds (private or public) that are allocated to Israel; and

- Placing sanctions exclusively on Israel. 

Following the publication of the document, Dr. Falk doubled down on his stance in an interview with The Forward, further calling for the <a href="https://forward.com/news/breaking-news/164986/richard-falk-calls-for-corporate-israel-boycott/#ixzz2APbfkSvl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">boycott of any company</a> that does business in Israel:
“My main recommendation is that the businesses highlighted in the report – as well as the many other businesses that are profiting from the Israeli settlement enterprise – should be boycotted until they bring their operations into line with international human rights and humanitarian law and standards.” 
Elsewhere, Dr. Falk has <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/2017/07/un-anti-israel-bias-richard-falk-pro-iran-9-11-truther-investigates-jewish-state/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">disputed that Al-Qaeda is solely responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attacks</a>. In an interview on the site, Truth Jihad, he endorsed the idea the <a href="https://freebeacon.com/politics/special-rapporteur-for-911-truth/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">highjackings might have been a false-flag operation</a>. He further authored a blog post, “<a href="https://richardfalk.org/2013/04/19/a-commentary-on-the-marathon-murders/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A Commentary on the Marathon Murders</a>,” that blamed the Boston Bombings on the foreign policy of DC and Tel Aviv. 

Due to his views, Dr. Falk was <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2008/dec/19/israel-palestinian-territories-united-nations" target="_blank" rel="noopener">banned from Israel in 2008</a>. Although officially retired from teaching, he still holds the position of professor emeritus at Princeton.

Christopher Nunez is a formerly undocumented, visually impaired choreographer, educator, and accessibility consultant who was named Princeton University Arts Fellow for 2022-2024. Nunez’s university <a href="https://arts.princeton.edu/news/2022/03/princeton-arts-fellows-for-2022-2024-announced/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fellowship announcement says</a>, “His performances have been presented at The Brooklyn Museum for The Immigrant Artist Biennale…” and “his work has been featured in publications such as The New York Times…” 

His personal biography webpage states,

“Since his arrival in NYC, Nunez has supported and worked for different social causes, groups, and organizations for the rights of undocumented, disabled, indigenous, and LGBT+ people. He has been the Manager of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility for Dance/NYC…[and was] a core member of the Artists of Color Council at Movement Research.”

“Nunez [is the] Founder of the Accessibility Advisory Team (AAT), a group of disabled artists who advise Movement Research on accessibility and inclusion practices through its various departments and platform.”

Nunez teaches a course called “<a href="https://arts.princeton.edu/courses/introduction-to-radical-access-disability-justice-in-the-arts/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Introduction to Radical Access: Disability Justice in the Arts.</a>”  The class introduction says, “Disability is front and center in a global social justice revolution…This course invites all artists, from choreographers to theater makers, filmmakers, visual artists, writers, and composers to immerse in a highly collaborative, improvisational, experimental and inclusive community to explore Disability Justice…”

<a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/princeton-agender-and-neurodivergent-performer-flaunts-disability-and-anti-technique/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The College Fix reports</a>, “The ‘Intro to Radical Access’ Princeton Dance program and Program for Community Engaged Scholarship hosted [a] ‘anti-technique’ performance.” However, Catholic students were moved to pray against evil spirits after attending the controversial dance performance that featured Nunez and two other "disabled" artists.

The performance showcased the artistic abilities of the disabled, mentally ill, and trans-identifying students. According to the College Fix, Nunez said, “‘This is the first time that we get to experience in a more pragmatic, practical way what access, accessibility, and access artistry means.’”

Gabrie’l Atchison is the instructor for AAS 220/GSS 229: Body Politics: Black Queer Visibility and Representation at Princeton University. The <a href="https://registrar.princeton.edu/course-offerings/course-details?term=1234&amp;courseid=016604" target="_blank" rel="noopener">class description</a> states that the curriculum will “examine Black LGBTQ+ representation across various media including documentaries, television, social media, and literature.”

Atchison’s profile — which can only be found on the class description page — also shows her research “includes gender-based environmental violence, environmental racism/justice, ecofeminism, feminist/queer theology…Black church history…and African American women’s literary criticism.” 

Atchison contributes to a blog called <a href="https://www.antiracistdevotional.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Anti-Racist Devotional</a>. On <a href="https://www.antiracistdevotional.org/dr-gabriel-atchison" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Atchison’s About page</a> she describes herself as a “Black Feminist theologian” and the Congregational Development Director at Trinity Episcopal Church who researches “the role of the church in the racial identity development of Black Episcopalians.”

In her book titled “<a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B6GQR4FJ/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0?asin=B0B6GQR4FJ&amp;revisionId=ca68030b&amp;format=1&amp;depth=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Are You the Unchurched?: How to Develop an Authentic Relationship with God inside or outside the Church</a>,” Atchison remarked on survey results from a Christian research institute. She said,

“Overwhelmingly, young adults who were studied named hostility toward [LGBTQ+] people as the reason they do not attend church…Based on my understanding of the research, the unchurched are Christians who are:

In the opening paragraph of Atchison’s 2020 blog entry “<a href="https://gabrieljatchison.wordpress.com/2020/11/22/the-folly-of-hope/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Folly of Hope</a>,” she declared,


“Trump exposed all our fault lines due to systemic racism, class exploitation and greed. His initial election and very close re-election should act as a clarion call for us to enact sweeping and lasting social change…”

“Trump has no agenda, but his Puppet Masters do…This election exposed in a raw and unrelenting way, how many people in positions of power feel like people of color simply do not have the right to vote.”

Atchison goes on to identify herself as a “progressive [who finds] Joe Biden significantly inadequate for the task at hand.” She disagrees with any approach Biden may have to unite the nation and she believes the Democratic Party passed up “so many better qualified presidential candidates, with creative ideas…to elect a man whose platform is centrist and apolog[ist].”

<a href="https://history.princeton.edu/people/kevin-m-kruse" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kevin Kruse</a> is a Professor of History and the Director of the Center for Collaborative History at Princeton University. His faculty biography says Kruse “studies the political social, and urban/suburban history of 20th-century America.” He’s also “focused on conflicts over race, rights, and religion…[with] particular interests in segregation and the civil rights movement.”

Kruse has published several manuscripts including a 2005 book entitled “<a href="https://www.amazon.com/White-Flight-Atlanta-Conservatism-Politics/dp/0691133867?asin=0691133867&amp;revisionId=&amp;format=4&amp;depth=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">White Flight: Atlanta and the Making of Modern Conservatism.</a>” Kruse introduces the novel by stating,

“This book explores the causes and course of white flight, with Atlanta serving as its vantage point…While many have assumed that white flight was little more than a literal movement of the white population, this book argues that it represented a much more important transformation in the political ideology of those involved.”

He continued,

“Because of their confrontation with the civil rights movement, white southern conservatives were forced to abandon their traditional, populist, and often starkly racist demagoguery and instead craft a new conservatism predicated on a language of rights, freedom, and individualism.”

In June 2022, <a href="https://freebeacon.com/campus/double-standards-princeton-turns-blind-eye-to-plagiarism-from-woke-professor/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Washington Free Beacon</a> featured Kruse in an article titled “Double Standards: Princeton Turns Blind Eye to Plagiarism From Woke Professor.” According to the Beacon, “On December 6, the economic historian Phillip Magness emailed Princeton’s dean of faculty, Gene Jarrett, with evidence that [Kruse] plagiarized several passages of his 2015 book ‘One Nation Under God.’”

Magness cited passages of Kruse’s book as allegedly originating from a New York Times Article that was published in the mid-1960s. The Beacon said, “The university never replied to Magness’s email…and has not announced an investigation of Kruse.”

<a href="https://www.dailyprincetonian.com/article/2022/08/kevin-kruse-plagiarism-allegations-academic-princeton-investigation-phillip-magness-history" target="_blank" rel="noopener">According to the Daily Princetonian</a>, “Kruse expressed ‘surprise’ at the allegations and attributed the lack of citations in one instance to an inadvertent oversight.” Kruse also allegedly plagiarized a professor in his 2000 Cornell University doctoral thesis. The Princetonian quoted an email response from Kruse stating,

“‘While I indicated my intellectual debts to [author] Prof. Baylor else in the text, endnotes and bibliography of the dissertation, I was surprised to see that there was an instance in the introduction [where] I failed to do so properly.’”

<a href="https://sociology.princeton.edu/people/frederick-wherry" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Frederick Wherry</a> is the Class of 1917 Professor of Sociology at Princeton University. In June 2022, he was named the inaugural vice dean for diversity and inclusion by the Office of the Dean of the Faculty.

Princeton’s Office of Communications <a href="https://www.princeton.edu/news/2022/06/30/wherry-appointed-vice-dean-diversity-and-inclusion-princetons-office-dean-faculty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">published Wherry’s appointment</a> in an announcement wherein the university president said, “‘After spending time with Professor Wherry and learning more about the impact and interventions of his scholarship, [and] his profound commitment to educating our students…he struck me as the ideal colleague to augur our efforts in fulfilling the vision of the vice dean for diversity and inclusion.’”

In the same publication, Wherry said,

“‘Diversity and inclusion are critical to our core mission. When our faculty and academic professionals can participate fully in our shared endeavor, we are all able to see problems in new ways, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, making way for innovation.’”

As the Director of the <a href="https://www.dignityanddebt.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Digntiy and Debt Network</a>, Wherry leads an organization of “experts” who research concepts of “dignity, respect, and fairness” in lending and debt collection. The organization studies debt along racial and socio-economic lines and states one of its goals is “to change the conversation about credit and debt among those measuring financial access and wellness…[b]y developing novel visualizations of dignity and debt…”

Wherry is in favor of canceling student loan debt. He believes borrowers are “victims” while lenders are “perpetrators.”

When asked about the aspiration of building assets and stronger economic futures among black and gay people, Wherry stated,

“One of the things we have to keep in mind when building assets is that they look different for our community in part because we have a positive effect on our social networks and building assets. People help us out, sometimes we get that ‘white glove treatment’ by virtue of folks who can tell us how to most effectively take advantage of an opportunity when it arises.”

He continued,

“At the same time, we have to be realistic…our social networks also can deplete some of those traditional forms of asset building…When we are providing financial assistance to our kinfolk — when you compare us to our white counterparts, who don’t have the same kinds of requests coming in at the same level of occupation, at the same level of academic achievement — we just have less available for traditional asset-building.”

The design of this project is based on “two-spirit people” in the present tense, which Mayo and another colleague outlined in a 10-day social studies unit on gender. Back in 2017, this curriculum was taught throughout several classroom discussions. Additionally, the passage encourages educators to introduce and incorporate strategies, lessons and talks about gender issues, sexuality, and more. “We decided to include information about the various lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) communities as well, given our assumption that students would already bring this topic into the overall conversation with their questions.”</li>
 	<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><a href="https://journals.sagepub.com/stoken/rbtfl/2yE4fgIww6IMs/full" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Critical Pedagogy Enacted in the Gay Straight Alliance: New Possibilities for a Third Space in Teacher Development</a>. Mayo argues “that the GSA advisor at Freedom High School utilized pedagogy that is critical at its core and led to effective, transformative learning outcomes for student GSA members. This pedagogy is characterized by students’ (a) access to information and issues that are important to queer youth, (b) participation in schoolwide and community-focused activities, and (c) reflections upon significant incidents in their lives when they encountered and responded to homophobia.”</li>

<a href="https://polisci.la.psu.edu/people/eah13/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Errol Henderson</a> is an Associate Professor of International Relations in the Department of Political Science at Penn State University.
In May 2021, Henderson <a href="https://www.collegian.psu.edu/news/campus/black-penn-state-professor-sues-university-for-discrimination-hostile-work-environment-based-on-race/article_64c6774c-b40b-11eb-bb3a-43e569fc6993.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">filed a lawsuit against the university for alleged discrimination</a>. According to the lawsuit, he filed several formal complaints against Penn State over the past 10 years due to a “racially hostile work environment.” The suit argues his race was a “motivating and/or determinative factor” in the “discriminatory” way he was treated.
In 2019, Henderson wrote an op-ed for The Daily Collegian titled, “<a href="https://www.collegian.psu.edu/opinion/letters_to_editor/being-black-at-penn-state-letter-to-the-editor/article_56c889e0-19d6-11e9-918c-4b0acfadb892.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Being Black at Penn State</a>.” In this article, he accused Penn State of having a “toxic racist climate.” He concluded his article by writing:
“The racists who are hidden in plain sight use the cover of concealment to shroud their racist practices; and they use the silence of others to conceal their white racist actions; and those who remain silent are complicit in that white racism. These are unfortunate facts of being black at Penn State.” 
Henderson’s lawsuit states:
“Within weeks of publication, Dr. Henderson learned that several of his white colleagues had raised complaints that he had created a racially hostile work environment for them, and that he was being investigated by Penn State for alleged racial harassment.” 
The lawsuit continues by saying Henderson was issued a formal letter of discipline, which charged him with “discrimination and harassment and related inappropriate conduct” under University Policy AD91. He was barred from teaching until June 2021 and was required to take remedial courses in teaching.
Henderson’s suit alleges that his race was a “motivaing and/or determinative factor” in the “discriminatory” way he was treated.
In March 2022, a <a href="https://www.pennlive.com/news/2022/03/black-professor-given-chance-to-amend-federal-civil-rights-suit-against-penn-state.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">judge dismissed part of Henderson’s lawsuit</a> but gave him the opportunity to file an amended complaint. The judge wrote “the deficiencies that caused the dismissal of the hostile work claims may be easily rectified by providing more concrete factual details to support his contention of bias and racism.” As of publication, the lawsuit is still ongoing.
On November 3, 2022, Henderson participated in a rally hosted by the Committee of Concerned Penn State Faculty to <a href="https://www.collegian.psu.edu/news/penn-state-community-rallies-to-amplify-their-voices-after-cancellation-of-center-for-racial-justice/article_458d5928-5bbb-11ed-af6f-33af95641c7a.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">protest the cancellation of the planned Center for Racial Justice.</a> He spoke during the rally, denouncing several members of the Penn State Administration and saying,
“I’ve been here 20 years fighting the fight against white supremacism.” 
Henderson has also supported a campus-wide coronavirus vaccine mandate. Before the beginning of the 2021 fall semester, he <a href="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1s2iANajV0C69hQmEi63I5iGBtDSrA4NJoZmhWaTQZ90/viewform?ts=6106e185&amp;edit_requested=true" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed an open letter</a> put together by the Coalition for a Just University (CJU).
The letter had a list of six demands for the administration including a COVID vaccine mandate, required masking and social distancing, and a more flexible and reasonable teaching policy.

<a href="https://www.sia.psu.edu/faculty/hatemi">Dr. Peter Hatemi</a>, a Professor of Political Science at Penn State, stated that conservatives express more issues of psychoticism, which he defined as " uncooperative, hostile, troublesome, and socially withdrawn, but lack feelings of inferiority and have an absence of anxiety. At the extremes, those scoring high on P are manipulative, tough-minded, and practical." He also claims that the counterparts of these conservatives [the left] is more likely to be altruistic, well socialized, empathic, and conventional. However upon review he accidentally switched data points around and should have labeled liberals with the adjectives he labeled conservatives with. Presented with this information, he claimed that it did not change his conclusion.

<a href="https://sociology.la.psu.edu/people/smr8" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Sam Richards</a> is a Teaching Professor of Sociology at <a href="https://www.psu.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pennsylvania State University</a>. He is known for his racially laden diatribes delivered to students during his lectures.

Dr. Richards is most prominently known for teaching SOC119, or “Race and Ethnic Relations”. The class is <a href="https://www.soc119.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allegedly the “largest race and cultural relations course in the United States,</a>” according to the official site. Dr. Richards also streams his lectures live, with over 57,000 subscribers on Youtube as of August 2021.

The course addresses relevant racial, political, and cross-cultural issues amongst young adults. Classes consist of Dr. Richards facilitating discussions for students to confront and examine viewpoints contrary to their own.

However, lectures typically devolve into racial and politically biased tirades. Dr. Richards frequently accuses white students of harboring racial animus, alleges that white supremacy is embedded in American culture, and accuses American Christians of seeking to overthrow the government.

In one lecture, titled “White Discomfort,” <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKTUG02kTTg&amp;ab_channel=SOC119" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Richards selects a black and white student and asks them to stand in front of the class</a>. Claiming that racial equality does not exist, he proceeds to position both students abreast of one another before yelling, “They are not f****** equal!”

In another class, titled “Christian Sharia,” Dr. Richards spends over an hour <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmzDnulSV_g&amp;ab_channel=SOC119" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lecturing on the threat he perceives Christians pose to the country.</a> At one point, when displaying a picture of a Muslim man holding a sign that reads, “Behead Those That Insult Islam,” he proceeds to claim, “You can’t find that anywhere in the Koran….I know that you can find it in the Bible.”

Later in the same lecture, he accuses Vice President Mike Pence of being a religious extremist on par with that of the Taliban.

In a lecture delivered in <a href="https://campusreform.org/article?id=17832" target="_blank" rel="noopener">March of 2021 and captured by Campus Reform</a>, Dr. Richards selects a white student, Brian, from the audience for a class exercise. He proceeds to ask Brian who he oppressed that day. After the student replied that he hadn’t oppressed anybody, Dr. Richards retorts that since Brian has “left his house” and “is breathing”, that, as a white person, he must have oppressed somebody that day. As of August 2021, Dr. Richards has disabled comments or unlisted many of his videos following publicity of his lectures.

The main site for SOC119 mandates that regardless of vaccination status, students will have to wear masks while attending class.

<a href="https://ed.psu.edu/directory/dr-edward-j-fuller" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Edward J. Fuller</a> is an Assistant Professor of Education at <a href="https://www.psu.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pennsylvania State University</a>. On his personal Twitter account, Dr. Fuller called for drunk drivers to run over unvaccinated parents.

The Tweet was a response to school-choice activist <a href="https://twitter.com/DeAngelisCorey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Corey A. DeAngelis's</a> opposition to mandatory masking in schools. In his reply, Dr. Fuller asked why parents have the right to endanger children by refusing to enforce mandatory masking. He then appeared to suggest that people with masks should drive while under the influence and run over “pro-covid” parents who oppose mask restrictions, as it is their freedom to do so.

<a href="https://polisci.la.psu.edu/people/jap45/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">James “Jim” Piazza</a> is a Liberal Arts Professor of Political Science at Penn State University. His research interests include terrorism, counterterrorism, political violence, intrastate conflict, and the politics of the Middle East and Islamic world.

Professor Piazza has been outspoken against former President Donald Trump for many years. In 2020, he wrote an article titled <a href="https://theconversation.com/when-politicians-use-hate-speech-political-violence-increases-146640" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“When Politicians Use Hate Speech, Political Violence Increases,”</a> where he argues that Donald Trump is “accused of publicly denigrating people based on their racial, ethnic or religious backgrounds.” He also claims that domestic terrorism more than doubled in the United States since the beginning of Trump’s presidency.

Another article, titled <a href="https://www.lawfareblog.com/white-demographic-anxiety-fuels-support-torture-terrorism-suspects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“White Demographic Anxiety Fuels Support for Turtore of Terrorism Suspects,”</a> discusses the U.S. Census Bureau’s prediction that the U.S. will be a “majority-minority” country by 2044.

He cites his own research to claim that when white people hear this information, they become more likely to express negative attitudes towards racial minorities. He also claims that this “prompts whites to support political organizations like the Tea Party and right-wing politicians like Donald Trump that truck in anti-minority and anti-foreigner appeals.”

Another recent study of Piazza’s, <a href="https://dea7fa46-473c-46b9-a155-9bc760b1ad78.filesusr.com/ugd/93efc7_ddafabb1f5244e7e981c9009b945ec91.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Approval of Donald Trump, Racism, Xenophobia, and Support for Political Violence,”</a> alleges that Trump supporters are more likely to be supportive of political violence due to their “racist and xenophobic attitudes.” His conclusion states:
“We also find that Trump approvers are motivated by racial animus and mistruct and hatred towards immigrants and foreigners, and that these attitudes, in part, may make them more accepting of political violence.” 
Piazza’s most recent article for <a href="https://theconversation.com/the-sore-loser-effect-rejecting-election-results-can-destabilize-democracy-and-drive-terrorism-171571" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Conversation</a> focuses on his study <a href="https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/10659129211054451" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Sore Losers: Does Terrorism and Approval of Terrorism Increase in Democracies When Election Losers Refuse to Accept Election Results?”</a> This article discusses the “baseless allegation that Joe Biden stole the 2020 U.S. presidential election” and the “Big Lie” that Trump really won.

Piazza claims that when politicians refuse to accept defeat and become “sore losers,” this “produces a situation where political violence is no longer seen as taboo.” He states:
“These results show that when politicians refuse to accept a free and fair democratic election’s outcome, and instead choose to promote a popular narrative of a stolen or dirty election, they place their people in physical danger. Popular tolerance for terrorism grows, and so does terorrist activity itself.”

<a href="https://ed.psu.edu/directory/dr-francesca-lopez" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Francesca Lopez</a> is a Professor of Education and the Waterbury Chair in Equity Pedagogy at Penn State University.

Lopez co-authored a report that describes “effective responses” school leaders can use when <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/professors-publish-playbook-teachers-address-parents-concerned-crt" target="_blank" rel="noopener">questioned about critical race theory (CRT) curricula.</a>

The report, titled <a href="https://kappanonline.org/community-concerns-crthodge-lope-rosenberg/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“How to Respond to Community Concerns About Critical Race Theory,”</a> says CRT can help students “unpack and rethink the social construct of race that divides so much of U.S. society.” The authors write that “school and district leaders must support teachers in including discussions about race in education in ways that are aligned with CRT principles.”

The report provides a three-step approach to addressing concerns about critical race theory, including: opening by describing a shared value, “use active voice to name an antagonist (e.g., the people who are trying to divide us) and call out divide-and-conquer tactics,” and ending with a “call to action that affirms common values” instead of being race-neutral or colorblind.

The authors argue that rather than being race-neutral, districts should directly address specific populations. They say this will affirm students and acknowledge the “history and present realities of racism and segregation.”

In an interview with <a href="https://www.edweek.org/leadership/how-to-respond-to-parents-crt-complaints/2022/11" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Education Week</a>, Lopez stated:
“The goal of effective messaging is essentially to step away from the fueling of fear because people can very easily go down a rabbit hole of engaging in debates that become echo chambers.”
She added:
“Effective messaging moves beyond just engaging in a debate. It keeps people focused with a clear message on what, for example, equity-focused approaches in education are really meant to do.”

<a href="https://hhd.psu.edu/contact/gary-king" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gary King</a> is a Professor of Biobehavioral Health at Penn State University. King has co-authored two reports about Penn State.

According to <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20220713002336/https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2021/06/16/penn-state-black-faculty-racism/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Washington Post</a>, the first discusses the “stagnation of efforts to increase the number of Black professors” and the second “revealed through a survey the slights, indignities, microaggressions, systemic obstacles and overt racism that many Black professors say they have endured in State College.”

During the fall 2022 semester, more than 400 professors and lecturers, including King, <a href="https://www.pennlive.com/pennstate/2022/11/under-fire-penn-state-president-defends-her-commitment-to-diversity-and-equity.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed a letter questioning Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi’s commitment to racial justice.</a> The letter comes after Bendapudi announced the Center for Racial Justice, outlined in the university’s strategic plan under former President Eric Barron, was canceled.

The <a href="https://onwardstate.com/2022/11/02/concerned-penn-state-faculty-pen-letter-to-university-leadership-over-racial-justice-worries/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">faculty writes:</a>
“This is symptomatic of a decades-long history at Penn State, where the university has failed to invest in work that addresses structural inequality and the realities of structural racism on our campuses, in our community, and in the state.” 
They also state:
“At a time of rising racial inequality and intensifying racial injustice, Penn State leadership has decided to turn its back on research to address and potentially positively impact the realities of racial injustice.” 
Penn State ended the most recent fiscal year in a budget deficit and President Bendapudi has <a href="https://www.collegian.psu.edu/news/penn-state-faculty-blindsided-by-budget-changes-affecting-racial-justice-initiatives-on-campus/article_2d26a134-5033-11ed-94bb-8f57ebaa5b8c.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">implemented budget cuts to make up for it.</a> King, who was not satisfied with this explanation, said:
“The center was a symbol. It was a very important symbol that everyone in the university could identify with and a means by which Penn State could indicate how they are moving forward into the 21st century and dealing with matters of racism.” 
He <a href="https://www.sungazette.com/news/education/2022/11/why-black-faculty-are-questioning-penn-states-commitment-to-diversity/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added:</a>
“Penn State is now showing that it’s a Big Ten university with regards to matters of diversity and anti-racism.” 
King also <a href="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1s2iANajV0C69hQmEi63I5iGBtDSrA4NJoZmhWaTQZ90/viewform?ts=6106e185&amp;edit_requested=true" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed a letter circulated by the Coalition for a Just University (CJU)</a> in 2021 calling for a campus-wide vaccine mandate. The letter’s other demands included required masking, social distancing, and a more flexible and reasonable teaching policy.

In August 2021, King, along with 270 other faculty members, chose to teach his in-person classes via Zoom to <a href="https://www.collegian.psu.edu/news/campus/tone-deaf-faculty-argues-against-penn-state-s-disciplinary-action-warning-for-zoom-in-protesters/article_e7835142-0554-11ec-9ceb-a70e2b4e2db8.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">protest Penn State’s lack of a COVID vaccine mandate.</a> King once again compared Penn State to the other Big Ten universities, saying:
“It appears as though [Penn State] will do everything [it] can to win a football game against Big Ten rivals but not compete with them in promoting the interests of public health with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

<a href="https://www.bellisario.psu.edu/people/individual/michelle-rodino-colocino" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Michelle Rodino-Colocino</a>, who uses the pronouns she/they, is an Associate Professor of Media Studies in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications. She teaches courses such as Feminist Media Studies and Introduction to Critical and Cultural Studies of Media.

According to her university biography, since earning tenure, she has learned to integrate critical race and ethnic studies, labor history, and trans and queer studies into her “research, teaching, service, activism, and creative works.”

On November 3, 2022, the Committee of Concerned Penn State Faculty <a href="https://www.collegian.psu.edu/news/penn-state-community-rallies-to-amplify-their-voices-after-cancellation-of-center-for-racial-justice/article_458d5928-5bbb-11ed-af6f-33af95641c7a.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hosted a rally to protest the cancellation of the planned Center for Racial Justice.</a> Rodino-Colocino spoke at the rally, saying, “It’s time we amplify our voices. We want to be an anti-racist and anti-sexist university.” Over 100 Penn State students and faculty participated and demanded that the decision be reversed.

<a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/penn-state-students-faculty-protest-cancellation-of-planned-race-justice-center/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The College Fix</a> reports that Penn State ended last fiscal year with a $127 million budget deficit, but that officials had still promised “financial investment in existing [diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging] initiatives.”

Rodino-Colocino has participated in other campus activism as well. Before the beginning of the 2021 fall semester, Rodino-Colocino <a href="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1s2iANajV0C69hQmEi63I5iGBtDSrA4NJoZmhWaTQZ90/viewform?ts=6106e185&amp;edit_requested=true" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed an open letter</a> put together by the Coalition for a Just University (CJU).

In August 2021, The Daily Collegian reports that approximately 270 faculty members chose to teach their in-person classes via Zoom <a href="https://www.collegian.psu.edu/news/campus/tone-deaf-faculty-argues-against-penn-state-s-disciplinary-action-warning-for-zoom-in-protesters/article_e7835142-0554-11ec-9ceb-a70e2b4e2db8.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">to protest the university’s decision not to mandate vaccines.</a> Rodino-Colocino, who serves as Interim Treasurer on the Executive Committee of the Penn State chapter of the AAUP (American Association of University Professors,) stated:
“[The AAUP is] organizing in support of the vaccine mandate and in support of the demands of the open letter and [to] protect faculty who have the right to exercise their academic freedom to protest COVID policies. Faculty should not just be informed of a plan but consulted in the process.”

<a href="https://english.la.psu.edu/directory/wxb5140/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Oliver Baker</a> is an Assistant Professor of English and African American Studies at Penn State University. His areas of research include “critical ethnic studies, critiques of racial capitalism and settler colonialism, and histories of African, Native, Chicanx, and working-class liberation movements.”

In August 2021, Baker was <a href="https://campusreform.org/article?id=18903" target="_blank" rel="noopener">participating in a pro-vaccine mandate rally</a> on campus when he got involved in a physical altercation with a student who was counterprotesting. The student came out of the altercation with a bloody nose. Baker was charged with harassment, disorderly conduct and simple assault.

In November 2021, Baker was <a href="https://www.collegian.psu.edu/news/campus/penn-state-assistant-professor-will-not-be-terminated-after-physical-altercation-in-august-rally/article_a89ac694-e664-11ec-b36a-0f93d8f50697.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cleared of all charges in court</a>. Two of the charges were withdrawn and he was found not guilty on the third charge, harassment.

In January 2022, Penn State initiated the <a href="https://policy.psu.edu/policies/ac70" target="_blank" rel="noopener">AC70</a> process—the dismissal procedure for tenure and tenure-eligible faculty members—against Baker. In an email to <a href="https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2022/01/18/penn-state-seeks-fire-professor-over-vaccine-rally-tussle" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Inside Higher Ed</a>, Baker wrote:
“I can confirm that the university has activated the AC70 process. Regrettably, the university intends to hold a hearing under the AC7- process if I choose not to resign. I am fighting this vigorously. I feel constrained to say anything more at this time.” 
In June 2022, Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi released a three-page memo that <a href="https://www.chronicle.com/article/penn-state-professor-who-clashed-with-a-student-at-a-vaccine-rally-will-keep-his-job" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced Baker would not be fired</a>. Bendapudi said his actions were determined to be “clearly misconduct” but she did not believe “merited termination.”

<a href="https://polisci.la.psu.edu/people/eah13/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Errol Henderson</a> is an Associate Professor of International Relations in the Department of Political Science at Penn State University.

In May 2021, Henderson <a href="https://www.collegian.psu.edu/news/campus/black-penn-state-professor-sues-university-for-discrimination-hostile-work-environment-based-on-race/article_64c6774c-b40b-11eb-bb3a-43e569fc6993.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">filed a lawsuit against the university for alleged discrimination</a>. According to the lawsuit, he filed several formal complaints against Penn State over the past 10 years due to a “racially hostile work environment.” The suit argues his race was a “motivating and/or determinative factor” in the “discriminatory” way he was treated.

In 2019, Henderson wrote an op-ed for The Daily Collegian titled, “<a href="https://www.collegian.psu.edu/opinion/letters_to_editor/being-black-at-penn-state-letter-to-the-editor/article_56c889e0-19d6-11e9-918c-4b0acfadb892.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Being Black at Penn State</a>.” In this article, he accused Penn State of having a “toxic racist climate.” He concluded his article by writing:
“The racists who are hidden in plain sight use the cover of concealment to shroud their racist practices; and they use the silence of others to conceal their white racist actions; and those who remain silent are complicit in that white racism. These are unfortunate facts of being black at Penn State.” 
Henderson’s lawsuit states:
“Within weeks of publication, Dr. Henderson learned that several of his white colleagues had raised complaints that he had created a racially hostile work environment for them, and that he was being investigated by Penn State for alleged racial harassment.” 
The lawsuit continues by saying Henderson was issued a formal letter of discipline, which charged him with “discrimination and harassment and related inappropriate conduct” under University Policy AD91. He was barred from teaching until June 2021 and was required to take remedial courses in teaching.

Henderson’s suit alleges that his race was a “motivaing and/or determinative factor” in the “discriminatory” way he was treated.

In March 2022, a <a href="https://www.pennlive.com/news/2022/03/black-professor-given-chance-to-amend-federal-civil-rights-suit-against-penn-state.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">judge dismissed part of Henderson’s lawsuit</a> but gave him the opportunity to file an amended complaint. The judge wrote “the deficiencies that caused the dismissal of the hostile work claims may be easily rectified by providing more concrete factual details to support his contention of bias and racism.” As of publication, the lawsuit is still ongoing.

On November 3, 2022, Henderson participated in a rally hosted by the Committee of Concerned Penn State Faculty to <a href="https://www.collegian.psu.edu/news/penn-state-community-rallies-to-amplify-their-voices-after-cancellation-of-center-for-racial-justice/article_458d5928-5bbb-11ed-af6f-33af95641c7a.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">protest the cancellation of the planned Center for Racial Justice.</a> He spoke during the rally, denouncing several members of the Penn State Administration and saying,
“I’ve been here 20 years fighting the fight against white supremacism.” 
Henderson has also supported a campus-wide coronavirus vaccine mandate. Before the beginning of the 2021 fall semester, he <a href="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1s2iANajV0C69hQmEi63I5iGBtDSrA4NJoZmhWaTQZ90/viewform?ts=6106e185&amp;edit_requested=true" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed an open letter</a> put together by the Coalition for a Just University (CJU).

The letter had a list of six demands for the administration including a COVID vaccine mandate, required masking and social distancing, and a more flexible and reasonable teaching policy.

<a href="https://english.la.psu.edu/directory/mfb12/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Michael Bérubé</a> is the Edwin Erle Sparks Professor of Literature at Penn State University.

Bérubé has been outspoken about his support for abortion. In 2018, the Pennsylvania House was <a href="https://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/billinfo/billinfo.cfm?syear=2017&amp;sind=0&amp;body=H&amp;type=B&amp;bn=2050" target="_blank" rel="noopener">considering a bill</a> that would ban abortion for babies diagnosed with Down syndrome in utero. Bérubé wrote an <a href="https://www.pennlive.com/opinion/2018/04/this_pa_abortion_bill_has_noth.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">op-ed for PennLive</a> where he shared that he and his wife, Janet, have a son with Down syndrome who has been a huge blessing to them. He writes: “In our family, Down syndrome isn’t a big deal.”

However, he adds:
“As much as we love him, we would never want to force anyone else to have a child with Down syndrome.” 
He argues that some parents “might be terribly disability-phobic” and “where is the moral benefit in compelling them to have a child they may very well resent and mistreat.” He ends by writing:
“Janet and I believe strongly that prospective parents should be able to terminate pregnancies for any reason.” 
Bérubé co-authored an article for The New Republic titled, “<a href="https://newrepublic.com/article/165649/professors-speech-disqualifying" target="_blank" rel="noopener">When Professors’ Speech Is Disqualifying</a>.” The article begins by asking the question, “Does academic freedom protect professors espousing white supremacist ideas?” Bérubé et al. claim that the answer in the past has always been yes, before adding:
“This is a disturbing realization for anyone who thinks of academic freedom as one of the cornerstones of a free and open society - and who understands how profoundly it is threatened by Republican state legislatures trying to criminalize the teaching of critical race theory (CRT).”
Before the beginning of the 2021 fall semester, Bérubé <a href="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1s2iANajV0C69hQmEi63I5iGBtDSrA4NJoZmhWaTQZ90/viewform?ts=6106e185&amp;edit_requested=true" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed an open letter</a> put together by the Coalition for a Just University (CJU). The letter had a list of six demands for the administration including a campus-wide vaccine mandate, required masking and social distancing, and a more flexible and reasonable teaching policy.

Bérubé also spoke out in defense of colleague Oliver Baker. Baker got into a physical altercation with a student who was counter-protesting at a pro-vaccine mandate rally on Penn State’s campus. He was charged with harassment, disorderly conduct, and simple assault.

Although the charges were dropped, Penn State initiated dismissal proceedings for the professor. Bérubé <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20220429224628/https://www.centredaily.com/news/local/education/penn-state/article260773532.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">attended a rally</a> of more than 75 students, faculty, and community members who disagreed with the university’s decision. He said that Baker was “trying to protect witnesses who … <a href="https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2022/01/18/penn-state-seeks-fire-professor-over-vaccine-rally-tussle" target="_blank" rel="noopener">felt threatened by the counterprotester</a>” and added:
“Even if Penn State still wants to signal disapproval of Baker’s actions after all that, ‘initiating termination proceedings is like calling a nuclear strike on a jaywalker.’” 
Penn State ultimately decided not to fire Baker, but not before Bérubé added:
“Every faculty member at Penn State at every campus should be alarmed, should be profoundly disturbed, by this case because it is every bit as outrageous as it looks.”

<a href="https://anth.la.psu.edu/people/dwb5537/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Douglas Bird</a> is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at Pennsylvania State University. According to his university profile, he has “broad interests in how social and ecological factors interact to influence patterns of resource use and their archaeological expressions.”

According to <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20230429094159/https://www.inquirer.com/news/pennsylvania-state-university-indigenous-students-faculty-20230425.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Philadelphia Inquirer</a>, Penn State originally got 776,514 acres from the federal government under the Morrill Act of 1862. The university paid $38,089 for the land, but the faculty argue this is a “gross underpayment” given that the land is now valued at over $4.5 billion.

The Penn State University Faculty Senate recently voted 118-1 to approve a report on how the university can reconcile its Native American “land grab.”

Douglas Bird, Chair of the Faculty Senate Committee on Education Equity and the Campus Environment, stated:
“Penn State in all its history has had only one Indigenous program, an American Indian Leadership Program, that ran from 1970 to 2010. That’s the only contribution that Penn State has ever made to Indigenous communities, despite the fact that every single cert [of its original endowment] came from expropriated Indigenous land.” 
The report calls for a <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/penn-state-faculty-school-needs-truth-and-reconciliation-process-for-its-native-land-grab/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">special joint task force</a> “to implement a truth and reconciliation process regarding Penn State’s original federal endowment.” The Inquirer reports, it “also recommends the creation of a program of Indigenous studies, the holding of an Indigenous Peoples Day event, and setting aside space on campus to ‘engage in justice,’ celebrate peace, and honor ‘the continued vitality of the First Nations and historic tribes’ whose land Penn State currently sits on.”

Professor Bird, who reportedly teared up on the senate floor while presenting the report, says the resolution “is simply to get some action and some level of support for Indigenous studies here at Penn State.” He also stated:
“Why doesn’t Penn State invest in a place, a space that is a nexus of peace. It would be a place where Penn State can acknowledge the traumatic history.”

He claims that Braves fans perpetuate a “dehumanizing caricature of Native Americans.” He also states that these fans suffer from “settler memory.” According to Bruyneel, “it represents the accompanying belief that indigenous people’s lives today are not relevant.”

<a href="https://nypost.com/2020/01/29/fired-babson-professor-defends-controversial-facebook-post-about-iran/">Asheen Phansey</a> was the Director of Sustainability at Babson College before he was fired by the school.  

Phansey suggested in a Facebook post that Iran’s leaders should list 52 cultural sites in the United States to bomb. His post suggested the Mall of America and one of the Kardashian residences as potential targets. 

The comment references then-President Donald Trump’s <a href="https://nypost.com/2020/01/04/trump-doubles-down-on-iran-trading-threats-with-regime/">list of 52 Iranian sites that would be bombed</a> as retaliation if the threats made by Iran’s military to strike American targets were carried out.

His lawyer, Jeffrey Pyle, stated, “I say that it was a pretext because they fired him in order to stop the criticism on social media.” He also claimed that backlash was “racially intolerant.” Continuing, he claimed, “I think that makes it doubly unfortunate that Babson couldn’t defend him when some of the vitriol thrown his way was of that nature.” Pyle and Phansey alleged people called to deport him or prosecute him on social media.

<a href="http://www.jjay.cuny.edu/faculty/gloria-browne-marshall">Gloria J. Browne-Marshall</a> is an Associate Professor of Constitutional Law at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY). In a 2013 essay, Browne-Marshall blamed the failed implementation of Obamacare on..”southern white radicals” such as Tea Party members. She wrote, “In January, President Barack Obama began his second term. However, southern White radicals vowed to stop implementation of the Obama-care law leading one to wonder if Tea Party members would oppose affordable healthcare if it came from a nonBlack [sic] President.”

<a href="https://www.journalism.cuny.edu/faculty/peter-beinart/">Peter Beinart</a> is a Professor of Journalism and Political Science at the City University of New York. He is known as an active critic of the state Israel, supports the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaign, and blames Hamas terrorism on the state of Israel.

Beinart has <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/19/opinion/to-save-israel-boycott-the-settlements.html?_r=1&amp;ref=opinion&amp;pagewanted=all">advocated</a> for the BDS movement to serve as a way to influence Israeli policy making. Beinart has gone so far as to suggest sanctions be put on any products made by Israelis in the West Bank. 

While a fierce critic of Israel, Beinart often excuses Islamic terrorism as understandable and morally equivalent counter-reaction to Israel. In fact, he even goes so far in his book, The Crisis of Zionism, to complement the terrorist organization Hamas. He writes, “[Hamas] has in recent years issued several new documents, which are more compatible with a two-state solution.” 

In a <a href="https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2019/08/19/rich-lowry-peter-beinart-debate-omar-tlaib-israel-trip-sot-lead-vpx.cnn">viral</a> debate with National Review editor Rich Lowry, Beinart was quick to defend Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar after they had been denied entry into Israel on account for their support of the BDS movement. When Lowry pointed out that each were traveling with known extremist groups that support terrorism, Beinart began frantically shouting over Lowry, claiming that terrorism is only response to the violenct Israel perpetrates.

Recently, Beinart wrote in the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/08/opinion/israel-annexation-two-state-solution.html">New York Times</a> that he no longer believes that Israel has the right to exist as a Jewish State.

James Davis is a <a href="https://psc-cuny.org/about-us/leadership/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Principal Officer and President of the Profession Staff Congress (PSC) </a>at the City University of New York (CUNY). He teaches in the American Studies Program and the English Department and dedicates part of his career to community organizing. Davis’ profile also says he’s a 17-year PSC activist. He “helped to wage successful chapter campaigns for health and safety, academic freedom, union membership, adjunct equity, anti-racism, and cross-title solidarity.”

Davis made headlines for his association with anti-Israel activities and organizations on campus. On September 1, 2022, <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/article?id=20073" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Campus Reform reported</a>, “During a June 30, 2022, NYC Council meeting regarding anti-Semitism at CUNY, Professor Davis attributed the issue to ‘White Christian nationalism.’”

Campus Reform continued, “The Council meeting came as a response to a number of anti-Semitic incidents at CUNY…including a resolution passed on December 2021 by the CUNY Law Student Government Association demanding that the university ‘cut all ties’ with Israel and endorse the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.”

The <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dm4Sv9QsbzgdyrOhpVABkEZuLskrkcWp9MgjiQRDsG4/edit" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BDS Resolution</a> “is a Palestinian-led global movement that aims to end international support for Israeli violations of international by forcing companies, institutions, and governments to change their policies.”

The Resolution also “calls for the end of Israeli occupation and colonization of all Arab lands and dismantling the Wall, the recognition of the fundamental rights of Palestinian citizens of Israel, and the full right of return of Palestinian refugees.” 

Davis also supports <a href="https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2021/S4461" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NY State Senate Bill S4461A -The New Deal for CUNY</a>. The general purpose of the New Deal “is intended to reestablish [CUNY] as an engine for social and economic mobility by waiving all tuition and creating certain staff-to-student ratios in order to increase student success.” 

Davis <a href="https://youtu.be/SDLL_7yTq90" target="_blank" rel="noopener">spoke out during a protest</a> in favor of the New Deal, stating,

“Students need safe and clean buildings and excellent facilities. They deserve more academic advisers and more mental health counselors to support their progress toward their degrees. They deserve access to full-time faculty, not those that need to rush off to their next gig.” 

He continued,

“CUNY students don’t deserve anything less just because half of them come from [low-income] families. They don’t deserve less just because 80 percent of CUNY students are students of color. They don’t deserve less just because 35 percent of them were born in a foreign country. No, they deserve at least as much if not more as any other student.”

Eric Lott <a href="https://www.gc.cuny.edu/people/eric-lott" target="_blank" rel="noopener">works within the Center for Humanities at the City University of New York</a>. He’s also the Distinguished Professor of American Studies, Professor of English, and Professor of Africana Studies at the CUNY Graduate Center. Lott has authored multiple books including “Black Mirror: The Cultural Contradictions of American Racism.” 

In September 2017, the book became available for purchase through an online catalog hosted by <a href="https://www.hup.harvard.edu/catalog.php?isbn=9780674967717" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Harvard University Press</a>. The Press published an “About This Book” section that says, 

“Blackness, as the entertainment and sports industries well know, is a prized commodity in American pop culture. Marketed to white consumers, black culture invites whites to view themselves in a mirror of racial difference, while at the same time offering the illusory reassurance that they remain ‘wholly’ white.”

The Press also mentioned Lott’s <a href="https://www.cc.com/video/ltlgca/the-daily-show-with-trevor-noah-reminder-race-is-not-a-costume" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appearance on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah</a>. The episode discussed why blackface never makes a good Halloween costume. The show also featured a Comedy Central video called “Reminder: Race is not a Costume,” which explains how cosmetically darkening one’s skin is offensive in black culture. 

Lott shows up at a Halloween party during the opening monologue, introduces himself, and proceeds to explain how blackface is “rooted in the history and politics of slavery.” He says, 

“[Blackface] is an attempt to control and own the black image. Minstrel shows dominated popular culture and when they died out at the end of that century, [it] migrated to Hollywood…Blackface performers on stage would present slaves singing, dancing, having a grand old time, cutting up, and telling jokes. The whole thing was rooted in white supremacy.”

In his book “<a href="https://www.google.com/books/edition/Love_Theft/AA4LQGPw8f8C?hl=en&amp;gbpv=1&amp;dq=Love+and+Theft:+Blackface+Minstrelsy+and+the+American+Working+Class&amp;printsec=frontcover" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Love and Theft: Blackface Minstrelsy and the American Working Class,</a>” Lott further explains how minstrel shows were appropriated purely for white entertainment. He claims, 

“Although [minstrels] arose from a white obsession with black (male) bodies which underlies white racial dread to our own day, it ruthlessly disavowed its fleshly investments through ridicule and racist lampoon. Yet I am not so sure this is the end of the story.”

<a href="https://www.ccny.cuny.edu/profiles/stanley-thangaraj" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stanley “Stan” Thangaraj is an Associate Professor of Anthropology</a> at the City College of New York. He specializes in race and sports, gender and sports, and immigration. In a short video, Thangaraj explained his interest in “how immigrants negotiate what it means to be American by looking and practicing in everyday American sports.” He believes "the Trump presidency and the rise of white supremacy presented an opportunity to study the facts of racism in our country.”

In the introduction of his book, “<a href="https://www.google.com/books/edition/Desi_Hoop_Dreams/V3bVCQAAQBAJ?hl=en&amp;gbpv=1&amp;dq=desi+hoop+dreams:+pick+up+basketball+and+the+making+of+asian+american+masculinity&amp;printsec=frontcover" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Desi Hoop Dreams: Pick-Up Basketball and the Making of Asian American Masculinity</a>,” Thangaraj says, “South Asian Americans participate in basketball and other mainstream U.S. sporting cultures to express sporting desires and perform identities as certain types of racialized athletes.” Thangaraj was also a guest on <a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/tn/podcast/more-than-a-game-sports-race-and-masculinity/id871241283?i=1000500349600" target="_blank" rel="noopener">This Anthro Life podcast in an episode titled More than a Game: Sports, Race, and Masculinity in Diaspora</a>. The episode discussed what globally popular sports reveal about U.S. race relations and how the Black Lives Matter movement impacted nonwhite and nonblack communities.

Professor Thangaraj leads two projects focused on gender and race. The first examines how Muslim Kurdish women in America are seen not as “victims of Islamic patriarchy, [but] how women assert agency and form identities…while challenging mainstream U.S. racializations of them.” The second project is based on the Civil Rights movement's race, class, and sexuality as it is presented in the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee.

Thangaraj identifies as an ally of the LGBTQ community at CCNY. Thereby, his courses affirm to students of all genders, and his classrooms and offices are “safe spaces.” Anthropology of Gender and Sexuality is primarily listed among the courses he teaches.

<a href="http://music.hunter.cuny.edu/faculty/full-time-faculty/philip-ewell/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Philip Ewell</a> is a Professor of Music Theory at Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY) and the Director of Graduate Studies in the Music Department. Ewell’s university profile says his research interests include race studies in music theory, modal theory, and hip-hop and popular music.

Ewell is quoted in a <a href="https://yaledailynews.com/blog/2022/11/11/profile-philip-ewell-01-the-cellist-shaping-music-theorys-racial-reckoning/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Yale News profile</a> stating,

“In the mid-20th century, the conceptions of excellence by which he was surrounded were deeply intertwined with ideals of whiteness and maleness. One was not supposed to admit such a notion aloud; instead, it was safer to put forth ‘that Mozart and Beethoven were simply the best composers on the planet.’”

Yale News continued,

“In his most well-known work to date, ‘Music Theory’s Racial Frame,’ Ewell argued for the existence of a structural and institutional white racial frame to the practice of music theory as a whole, and put forth the possibility of reframing the practice in a non-supremacist manner.”

Within the article, Ewell also branded his father — who is an African-American — as a racist and said he “believed deeply in the tenets of Communism.” In Ewell’s discussion regarding race in music, Yale News said, “He brought up his own Black father’s white supremacist as a counterargument; the hierarchy he imposed entailed white supremacy by definition…Ewell called this phenomenon the ‘concentric circles of white supremacy.’”

Ewell published a blog titled “<a href="https://musictheoryswhiteracialframe.wordpress.com/2020/04/10/racism-sexism-and-their-intersection-in-music-theory/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Race, Gender, and Their Intersection in Music Theory</a>” where he discusses how American music theory only recognizes Ancient Greek, Latin, Italian, French and German. He wrote, “Music theory’s white racial frame believes that the only foreign music theoretical works worth studying were written in these five languages.”

Regarding music programs on college campuses he argues, “Seminars featuring 100% white-male music theorists create hostile environments for POC (people of color) and nonmales, and, especially, nonmales of color.” He also claimed the courses are “all-white all-male seminars” that “highlight the intersection of race and gender in music theory.”

He is best known for authoring the New York Times bestseller, “<a href="https://www.ibramxkendi.com/how-to-be-an-antiracist/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">How to Be an Antiracist</a>,” along with “<a href="https://www.ibramxkendi.com/stamped" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stamped from the Beginning</a>” and “<a href="https://bookshop.org/books/antiracist-baby-board-book/9780593110416" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Antiracist Baby</a>.” He further serves as the Director and founder of the <a href="https://www.bu.edu/antiracism-center/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Center for Antiracist Research</a> at Boston University.

Dr. Kendi claims that racism is deeply embedded in American institutions and that every white American benefits from racism, regardless of their actions. During one event hosted by Google, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEjpbDSoBCA&amp;t=2078s&amp;ab_channel=TalksatGoogle" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Kendi claimed that anyone raised in America is raised to be racist.</a>

His speaking engagements are often very lucrative; the University of Michigan paid Dr. Kendi <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/university-michigan-ibram-x-kendi-20000-virtual-discussion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$20,000 for a virtual, one-hour speech on antiracism.</a>

During another lecture for the <a href="https://www.aspeninstitute.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Aspen Institute</a>, Dr. Kendi <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzuOlyyQlug" target="_blank" rel="noopener">defined racism as ANY policy—or support for a policy—in which the outcome results in racial disparities</a>.

He would go on to explain the elimination of racial disparities by adopting far-Left policies—such as wealth redistribution to alleviate the racial income gap and universal health care— are examples of how one can be “anti-racist.”

Dr. Kendi wrote in “How to Be an Antiracist” that “<a href="https://www.city-journal.org/how-to-be-an-antiracist" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the ultimate solution to racism or racial discrimination is discrimination itself</a>”.

Dr. Kendi further advocates for an “<a href="https://www.politico.com/interactives/2019/how-to-fix-politics-in-america/inequality/pass-an-anti-racist-constitutional-amendment/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">antiracist amendment” to the Constitution to monitor and punish officials with “racist” ideas</a>. Proposed policies in the amendment include:

- To deem racial inequity or racist ideas as unconstitutional

- Permanently fund a “Department of Antiracism”

- Mandatory monitoring of all federal, state, and local policies for racial inequity

- Mandatory monitoring of all public officials for racist ideas

- Ability to punish public officials who do not voluntarily change racist ideas or policies

Opposed to interracial families, Dr. Kendi has alleged that adopting a child from a separate race doesn’t make you “not racist.” During the 2020 confirmation hearings of Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett—who has adopted two children from Haiti—Dr. Kendi insinuated that families like the Barretts—whom he describes as “white colonizers”—<a href="https://nypost.com/2020/09/28/bu-professor-suggests-amy-coney-barrett-is-a-white-colonizer/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">only adopt black children in a racist attempt to “civilize them.”</a>

“If you voted for Trump, my default opinion is that you abandoned your civic responsibility. Maybe you could convince me otherwise; I am open to talking. Let me know you voted for Trump. I will in turn ask you the questions below and we can go from there.”
Dr. Macula then asks Trump supporters what he considers to be “reasonable questions;” Do they believe in “white supremacy,” and do they believe in a “multiethnic democracy?”

In 2016, Mr. Lee hosted a presentation in a business relationship class that labeled phrases such as, “American is a melting pot,” as “microaggressions.”
Harvard Professor Chester M. Pierce—who first coined the phrase—<a href="https://www.vox.com/2015/2/16/8031073/what-are-microaggressions" target="_blank" rel="noopener">defines microaggressions as literal, “racial assaults” on minorities by white people</a>.
“These [racial] assaults to black dignity and black hope are incessant and cumulative. Any single one may be gross. In fact, the major vehicle for racism in this country is offenses done to blacks by whites in this sort of gratuitous neverending way. These offenses are microaggressions.“ &#8211; Chester M Pierce
Universities and public officials will often censor words or phrases they consider fit this definition. In 2018, the University of California <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2018/03/17/calling-america-land-opportunity-microaggression-says-university-california/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">labeled the phrase, “America is the land of opportunity,” as a microaggression.</a> In 2021, administrators at Brandeis University <a href="https://www.brandeis.edu/parc/accountability/oppressivelanguagelist_identitybased.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">listed phrases like, “policeman” and, “you guys,” under a University-sponsored “Oppressive Language List</a>.”
Due to a California law passed in 2017, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/california-law-allows-prison-using-wrong-gender-ryan-saavedra" target="_blank" rel="noopener">failure to refer to a person’s preferred gender pronouns is now a jailable offense</a>. Those convicted may be sentenced for up to a year in jail.
Mr. Lee likewise <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/saying-america-melting-pot-microaggression-purdue-class-teaches/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">urges students to curtail speech he considers to be microaggressions. </a>Several examples included the following:
&#8211; Asking a student, “Where are you from?”
&#8211; “You are so articulate.”
&#8211; “America is a melting pot”
&#8211; “There is only one race, the human race”
&#8211; “When I look at you, I don’t see color”
&#8211; “I’m not racist, I have several black friends”
&#8211; “I believe that the most qualified person should get the job.”
&#8211; “Everyone can succeed in this society if they work hard enough.”
&#8211; Using the pronoun, “he” to refer to all people.
During the same lecture, Mr. Lee claimed “hundreds” of active hate groups are operating in the United States today. He was referencing data compiled by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a self-ordained civil rights <a href="https://www.splcenter.org/what-we-do" target="_blank" rel="noopener">group</a> whose objective is purportedly the dismantlement of white supremacy.
Despite its mission statement, the organization effectively operates as a left-wing think tank. As City Journal notes, the SPLC operated “Hatewatch” exists to publish<a href="https://www.city-journal.org/html/demagogic-bully-15370.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> partisan attacks on groups with right-of-center positions</a>. Conservative groups are labeled as extremists, while destructive, Left-wing organizations like Antifa are virtually ignored.
Thanks to its prolific fundraising operations, the organization has successfully monetized its left-wing smear campaigns. The <a href="https://freebeacon.com/issues/southern-poverty-surpasses-half-billion-in-assets-121-million-now-offshore/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SPLC’s assets exceed half a billion dollars</a> with $121 million residing in offshore bank accounts alone.
Mr. Lee’s goals, as written in his presentation, include, “teaching students to understand and accept people’s similarities and differences and learn to treat everyone with dignity and respect.” Following the presentation, The College Fix also reports that Mr. Lee assigned students an exercise titled “Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Class Bingo,” which aimed to highlight their differences.

Due to a California law passed in 2017, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/california-law-allows-prison-using-wrong-gender-ryan-saavedra" target="_blank" rel="noopener">failure to refer to a person’s preferred gender pronouns is now a jailable offense</a>. Those convicted may be sentenced for up to a year in jail.

Mr. Lee likewise <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/saying-america-melting-pot-microaggression-purdue-class-teaches/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">urges students to curtail speech he considers to be microaggressions. </a>Several examples included the following:

- Asking a student, “Where are you from?”

- “You are so articulate.”

- “America is a melting pot”

- “There is only one race, the human race”

- “When I look at you, I don’t see color”

- “I’m not racist, I have several black friends”

- “I believe that the most qualified person should get the job.”

- “Everyone can succeed in this society if they work hard enough.”

- Using the pronoun, “he” to refer to all people.

During the same lecture, Mr. Lee claimed “hundreds” of active hate groups are operating in the United States today. He was referencing data compiled by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a self-ordained civil rights <a href="https://www.splcenter.org/what-we-do" target="_blank" rel="noopener">group</a> whose objective is purportedly the dismantlement of white supremacy.

Despite its mission statement, the organization effectively operates as a left-wing think tank. As City Journal notes, the SPLC operated “Hatewatch” exists to publish<a href="https://www.city-journal.org/html/demagogic-bully-15370.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> partisan attacks on groups with right-of-center positions</a>. Conservative groups are labeled as extremists, while destructive, Left-wing organizations like Antifa are virtually ignored.

Thanks to its prolific fundraising operations, the organization has successfully monetized its left-wing smear campaigns. The <a href="https://freebeacon.com/issues/southern-poverty-surpasses-half-billion-in-assets-121-million-now-offshore/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SPLC’s assets exceed half a billion dollars</a> with $121 million residing in offshore bank accounts alone.

Mr. Lee’s goals, as written in his presentation, include, “teaching students to understand and accept people’s similarities and differences and learn to treat everyone with dignity and respect.” Following the presentation, The College Fix also reports that Mr. Lee assigned students an exercise titled “Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Class Bingo,” which aimed to highlight their differences.

As stated in his university profile, he specializes in “American Literature and Studies, African American Studies, Cultural Studies, Working Class Studies, Critical Race Theory, and Marxist Theory.” Mullen also serves as a member of the organizing collective for the US Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel and is the co-founder of a national, campus-based ANTIFA organization. 
As part of the <a href="http://campusantifascistnetwork.com/">Campus Antifascist Network </a>(CAN), an ANTIFA-aligned group for university academics, Mullen <a href="https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2017/08/17/campus-group-proposing-broad-countermovement-against-white-nationalism-and-racism">described</a> his role as &#8220;to drive racists off campuses and to protect the most vulnerable from fascist attack.”

This study states that “white male privilege pervades the discipline of physics as well as the classrooms in which physics is taught and learned.&#8221;
Robertson also co-authored a study with Rev. W. Tali Hairston entitled, <a href="https://journals.aps.org/prper/pdf/10.1103/PhysRevPhysEducRes.18.010119" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Observing whiteness in introductory physics: A case study.&#8221;</a> Research analyses focused on unmasking “whiteness” in physical science programs with results showing physics degrees disproportionately conferred upon white students aged 20-24. Robertson and Hairston also “[focused] on the reproduction of whiteness in an introductory physics classroom.&#8221;
