<a href="https://cla.csulb.edu/departments/africanastudies/faculty-and-staff/maulana-karenga/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Maulana Karenga</a> is Chair of <a href="https://cla.csulb.edu/departments/africanastudies/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Africana Studies</a> at <a href="https://www.csulb.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">California State University &#8211; Long Beach</a>. Dr. Karenga was a prominent black nationalist during the 1960s and 1970s, during which time he founded the holiday, “Kwanzaa.” Prone to extremity and paranoia, Dr. Karenga was convicted for the imprisonment and torture of two women he falsely suspected of poisoning him.
Born Ronald McKinley Everett, Dr. Karenga founded <a href="http://www.hartford-hwp.com/archives/45a/767.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kwanzaa as a pan-African holiday</a> in 1966. Despite that most American blacks are descended from West Africa, the name and traditions are based on East African Swahili. He would further <a href="https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2014/12/kwanzaa__a_madeup_holiday_.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">state the holiday’s proximity to Christmas was intentional, as otherwise it wouldn&#8217;t be noticed</a> by the black community.
People think it’s African. But it’s not. I wanted to give black people a holiday of their own. So I came up with Kwanzaa. I said it was African because you know black people in this country wouldn’t celebrate it if they knew it was American. Also, I put it around Christmas because I knew that’s when a lot of bloods [blacks] would be partying!
Dr. Kerenga intended for Kwanzaa to replace Christian and Jewish holidays. As he wrote in his book—Kawaida Theory—Western faith, “denies and diminishes human worth, capacity, potential and achievement.&#8221; In Christian and Jewish mythology, humans are born in sin, cursed with mythical ancestors who&#8217;ve sinned and brought the wrath of an angry God on every generation&#8217;s head.”
Dr. Karenga adopted his current name after embracing black nationalism while living on the West Coast in the 1960s. He would go on to found his own group—titled, <a href="https://www.us-organization.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Organization US</a>—as a more radical alternative to his rivals in the Black Panther Party.
<a href="http://web.stanford.edu/~ccarson/articles/am_left.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Black Panthers</a>—known officially as the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense—was a black-nationalist and Marxist organization that operated largely in California during the 1960s and 1970s. Known for their violent tactics and enforcement of party discipline, members would<a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/whitewashing-the-black-panthers" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> pour boiling water over suspected </a>police informants. Co-founder, Huey Newton, is <a href="https://www.salon.com/1999/12/13/betty/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suspected to have taken part in multiple murders</a> committed by the Panthers.
Dr. Karenga’s organization frequently clashed with the rival, Black Panthers. Following a dispute over who would lead the Afro-American Studies Center at UCLA, <a href="https://freerepublic.com/focus/news/600011/posts?page=7" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Organization US members shot two Black Panthers to death on the campus in 1969</a> which set off a series of shootings across Los Angeles that summer. The incident caused Dr. Karenga to fall into paranoia and suspect his own followers of plotting to kill him.
On the evening of May 9th, 1970, Dr. Karenga and several of his followers confronted two women who were staying at his home. He accused both of placing poison “crystals” in his food and water. According to court testimony, the women were then stripped naked, bound, and ordered to confess. Dr. Karenga tortured both women over the next two days, beating each with an electrical cord, and then branded them with a soldering iron.
While awaiting trial, Dr. Karenga’s mental health continued to deteriorate. The court-appointed psychologist found him to be schizophrenic, and reportedly caught Dr. Karenga speaking to hallucinations in his jail cell:
“Since his admission here he has been isolated and has been exhibiting bizarre behavior, such as staring at the wall, talking to imaginary persons, claiming that he was attacked by dive-bombers and that his attorney was in the next cell. During part of the interview he would look around as if reacting to a hallucination and when the examiner walked away for a moment he began a conversation with a blanket located on his bed. This man now presents a picture which can be considered both paranoid and schizophrenic with hallucinations and elusions, inappropriate affect, disorganization, and impaired contact with the environment.” 
The court later sentenced him to one to ten years in jail for two counts of felonious assault, and one count of false imprisonment. However, he was granted parole in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kwanzaa-was-invented-insane-leftist-gangster-who-michael-j-knowles" target="_blank" rel="noopener">1975 thanks to a letter-writing campaign by his followers.</a>
While in jail, Karenga converted his ideology from Black Nationalism to explicit Marxism. In 1978, just a few years after his release, Dr. Karenga was hired as the Chair of the African Studies department, where he now resides as of March 2022.

<a href="http://www.cla.csulb.edu/departments/journalism/people/faculty/chris-knap/">Christopher Knap</a>, a Communications Professor at CSULB, assigned a homework assignment which mocked Trump as sexist and homophobic. The assignment involved an employee named "Ronald Plump" that harassed women and used homophobic slurs.

<a href="https://www.csulb.edu/office-of-the-president/president/about">Dr. Jane Close Conoley</a>, is the current President of California State University - Long Beach. In an op-ed from 2014, Conoley stated that if you are “light-skinned” you have “significant unearned privilege.” Moreover, these privileged individuals show distrust and “lower expectations of behavior” of those with another skin color.

Michael Park is an instructor at California State University-Long Beach. He used a media law class to disparage Tea Partiers and conservatives as being birthers. In an assignment, he implied that opposition to President Obama is based on a belief that he is not a "true American". This is similar to a class taught by Christopher Knap, a fellow CSULB professor that assigned a homework assignment implying Trump is homophobic/sexist.

According to <a href="https://www.ccsu.edu/presidenttoro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Zulma R. Toro&#8217;s university biography</a>, she is the first female and first Hispanic President of Central Connecticut State University (CCSU). In a Central Focus newsletter titled &#8220;<a href="https://www2.ccsu.edu/centralfocus/?article=112" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In Her First 100 Days, President Toro Opens New Doors</a>,&#8221; Toro stated her top priorities are &#8220;increasing enrollment, becom[ing] a real community-engaged university, and diversifying sources of funding.&#8221;
Toro stands accused on multiple accounts of alleged bullying and verbal abuse toward university stakeholders. In 2019, the <a href="https://www.courant.com/politics/hc-pol-mirror-ccsu-public-shaming-20191023-r7dgafyqrncrrn6ak7f7xjg7gy-story.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hartford Courant reported</a>, &#8220;The leader of [CCSU]&#8217;s faculty union said the release of decades-worth of investigations into sexual misconduct allegations by President Toro &#8216;was an attempted to threaten and intimidate faculty members.'&#8221; The Hartford said, &#8220;Toro defended her decision and shot back at the union, saying its statement &#8217;empowers the offenders and that culture of bullying and the culture of intimidation and harassment.'&#8221;
On October 6, 2022, <a href="https://insideinvestigator.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Bigelow-Email.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a CCSU employee leaked a message</a> from Institutional Advancement president Lisa Bigelow. In the email, Bigelow said she &#8220;initially tried to resolve the matter [of bullying] by reporting the behavior in violation of the Board of Regents Code of Conduct. Feeling there was no internal safe haven [to] report violations.&#8221;
On November 18, President Toro sent a campus-wide message in response to <a href="https://www.darientimes.com/news/article/Central-Connecticut-CCSU-transphobic-Turning-Point-17592589.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">protests against CCSU&#8217;s Turning Point chapter</a>. <a href="https://www.ccsu.edu/polisci/facultyStaff.html">Dr. Jerold Duquette</a> is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Central Connecticut State University. After a Bernie Sanders supporter shot Republican Congressman Steve Scalise, Duquette tried to place some of the blame on Donald Trump. He said, "Donald Trump is corrupt, dishonest, and stupid. Intellectually feeble and mentally unstable people drawn to political extremism have and will be inspired or driven by Trump and trumpism to say and do horrible things. Yesterday, a left-wing extremist was driven by Trump and trumpism to try to kill people."

According to <a href="https://www.ccsu.edu/presidenttoro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Zulma R. She turned in Marshall Polston, a Christian student in her class, for challenging her on Jesus&#8217; crucifixion as well as on Sharia law. Zufari claimed the crucifixion of Jesus did not happen.

<a href="https://www.law.ua.edu/directory/People/view/Richard_Delgado" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Richard Delgado</a> is a Professor and the John J. Sparkman Chair at the <a href="https://www.law.ua.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">University of Alabama School of Law</a>. According to his university biography, his areas of expertise are listed as civil rights, constitutional law, and critical race theory. The biography further boasts that Dr. Delgado is the “eight-most cited legal scholar in US history.”
Dr. Delgado is famously known as one of the pioneering scholars of critical race theory. Beginning in the 1980s, the theory received significant contributions from scholars such as Dereck Bell, Jean Stefanic, Kimberlé Crenshaw, and Dr. Delgado, among others.

<a href="https://socialwork.ua.edu/blog/social-theme-staff/simon-cassandra-e-phd/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cassandra Simon</a> is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Alabama. She is leading a campaign—titled, “Delete Dixie,”—to rename the university’s fight song due to its alleged racial undertones and oppressive language. 

The initiative <a href="https://deletedixie.wixsite.com/ddi22" target="_blank" rel="noopener">aims to remove the word “Dixie” from the nearly 100-year-old tradition</a>. The official site describes the effort as a movement of “students, faculty, and friends” striving for a more inclusive campus culture. 

The group alleges the term “Dixie” is an overt reference to the Confederacy and slavery. They further state the term is racially insensitive as it is synonymous with the Klu Klux Klan and the Confederate flag. While claiming they do not wish to ban the song, the group states that the university “continues to perpetuate harmful language and ideals” by not altering it.   

In a letter on behalf of the Black Faculty and Staff Association, Dr. Simon acknowledges that while the song is an important tradition, it <a href="https://ff909113-060c-4f10-942e-96b645f18fa6.filesusr.com/ugd/92ffc2_873471be1e0e46cb83e043ede0774f20.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">continues to be “offensive, demeaning and painful” to minority staff and students</a>. 

She further states the song is reminiscent of segregation and an ongoing challenge to “our equitable existence in today’s society:”  
“The song’s lyrics are based on the 1925 football season and the 1926 Rose Bowl, pointedly before persons of African descent were allowed to be here at any time as anyone, except as laborers, paid and unpaid, and enslaved persons.  Thus, we recognize the use of the term “Dixie” in the fight song is reflective of those times and was not written to send a message to black Americans today. But it does. And not a pleasant one.” 
“The term is one that glorifies and vividly reminds many of the general acceptance of blacks as non-equal and subhuman with an expectation they remain submissive, which are characterizations that continue to challenge our equitable existence in today’s society.“   
Simon calls for the term “dixie” to be removed and replaced with a more “inclusive term” that is “non-offensive” and “non-oppressive.” 
 “I, along with other members of the Black Faculty and Saff Association, formally request that the University of Alabama take the necessary steps to change the fight song lyrics by removing the “Dixie”. [SIC] We offer up the suggestion of “Bama” but we would be more than willing to work with you on other non-offensive and non-oppressive,” 
In an interview with The Crimson White, Dr. Simon claimed that she <a href="https://thecrimsonwhite.com/100774/top-stories/campus-coalition-of-faculty-students-working-to-remove-the-word-dixie-from-yea-alabama/#" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stopped attending sporting events</a> during her 22-year tenure at the university because of the song. 
“I didn’t realize that this was the fight song for the entire university and all the athletic teams. So, I had attended a couple of basketball games and some gymnastic weeks but then when I realized that this was for everything, I stopped going to all athletic events.”
The fight song was <a href="https://redstate.com/alexparker/2022/10/27/university-of-alabama-sees-woke-initiative-to-ax-a-word-from-its-legendary-fight-song-n649565" target="_blank" rel="noopener">officially adopted following the 1925 football season</a> and references Alabama as “Dixie’s football pride:”

<a href="https://counselingpsych.education.wisc.edu/fac-staff/budge-stephanie/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stephanie Budge</a> is an Associate Professor in the Department of Counseling Psychology and founder of the Trans CARE Collaborative at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
According to its website, the <a href="https://trl.education.wisc.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Trans Counseling Advocacy Research and Education (CARE) Collaborative</a> is a “group of social justice driven community members and academics conducting research that affirms the experiences of Two-spirit, trans, nonbinary (2STNB), gender-nonconforming, and gender diverse individuals.”
Budge’s personal <a href="https://trl.education.wisc.edu/people/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">biography</a> on the website says her research “focuses on improving medical and psychotherapeutic treatments (and access to care) for 2STNB clients.” On campus, Budge “promotes 2STNB advocacy on campus by providing workshops to students, faculty, and staff related to navigating gender identity within a university environment.”
In a 2017 article about the lab, <a href="https://isthmus.com/news/news/uw-madison-lab-pioneering-research-transgender/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Isthmus</a> wrote, “Members of the lab aren’t shy about their advocacy and activism &#8211; something that is unusual in research. Budge isn’t concerned about tainting the lab’s work or how some might view it as biased.”
Budge told the newspaper:
“I think all research is biased in some way, shape or form. It’s just what you do to ensure that all of that is out on the table. We’re really transparent about what we do, so I’m not really concerned about [our work coming across as biased].” 
Budge is also the Director of the Advancing Health Equity and Diversity (AHEAD) program in the School of Medicine and Public Health. The <a href="https://ictr.wisc.edu/ahead-program/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">AHEAD program</a> is a “career development program for UW-Madison scholars, especially those from backgrounds typically underrepresented in medical science, interested in health equity research hosted by the Collaborative Center for Health Equity.”
In March 2023, Budge—along with dozens of other professors—signed a “<a href="https://www.gamcstatement.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Statement Regarding Laws Restricting Gender Affirming Medical Care</a>.” The statement focuses on two key points:
“First, there is consensus in the field, and amongst these signatories, that gender affirming medical care is important and beneficial for many transgender youth. Second, we do not support laws restricting access to gender affirmative care.” 
The signatories conclude their <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/article?id=21908" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a>:

<a href="https://african.wisc.edu/staff/damon-sajnani/">Dr. Damon Sanjani</a> is a Professor of African Cultural Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While recently he has been in the news for teaching a course called "The Problem of Whiteness", Sanjani is far more controversial than just that class on race relations and white supremacy. He previously retweeted a tweet about assassinating Donald Trump and tweeted in support of the Dallas cop killings.

<a href="https://gws.wisc.edu/staff/schalk-sami/">Dr. Sami Schalk</a> is an Associate Professor in the Department of Gender and Women’s Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. According to her university biography, Schalk’s work is centered on “disability, race, and gender in contemporary American literature and culture.” Schalk has risen to prominence recently due to her racially inflammatory remarks and sympathy towards rioters tearing down statues.

In a now-deleted exchange and series of tweets, Schalk <a href="https://campusreform.org/?ID=14268">stated</a> that white people can’t decide what is racist: 

“This is your semi-annual reminder that white people do not get to determine what is &amp; is not racist. If a person of color calls you racist, it’s probably bc [because] you did something racist whether you can recognize it or not. Now back to your regular scheduled programming.” 

She later tweeted that only white people cannot live in the sun, writing, "Out of the sun. You know they got destroyed by the thing that keeps everything else on this planet alive..."

Schalk is also a vocal advocate of the riots that destroyed statues in Madison. In a series of tweets, she vaguely <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/u-wisconsin-madison-professor-cheers-protesters-tearing-down-statues-honoring-abolitionist-womens-progress/">threatened</a> that the “uprising” would continue if the rioters' demands weren’t met. If there was any ambiguity to her beliefs, she then tweeted that people don’t have anything else to do “but disrupt the f*** out of this city” and that the city of Madison should defund the police.

<a href="https://counselingpsych.education.wisc.edu/fac-staff/budge-stephanie/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stephanie Budge</a> is an Associate Professor in the Department of Counseling Psychology and founder of the Trans CARE Collaborative at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

According to its website, the <a href="https://trl.education.wisc.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Trans Counseling Advocacy Research and Education (CARE) Collaborative</a> is a “group of social justice driven community members and academics conducting research that affirms the experiences of Two-spirit, trans, nonbinary (2STNB), gender-nonconforming, and gender diverse individuals.”

Budge’s personal <a href="https://trl.education.wisc.edu/people/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">biography</a> on the website says her research “focuses on improving medical and psychotherapeutic treatments (and access to care) for 2STNB clients.” On campus, Budge “promotes 2STNB advocacy on campus by providing workshops to students, faculty, and staff related to navigating gender identity within a university environment.”

In a 2017 article about the lab, <a href="https://isthmus.com/news/news/uw-madison-lab-pioneering-research-transgender/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Isthmus</a> wrote, “Members of the lab aren’t shy about their advocacy and activism - something that is unusual in research. Budge isn’t concerned about tainting the lab’s work or how some might view it as biased.”

Budge told the newspaper:
“I think all research is biased in some way, shape or form. It’s just what you do to ensure that all of that is out on the table. We’re really transparent about what we do, so I’m not really concerned about [our work coming across as biased].” 
Budge is also the Director of the Advancing Health Equity and Diversity (AHEAD) program in the School of Medicine and Public Health. The <a href="https://ictr.wisc.edu/ahead-program/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">AHEAD program</a> is a “career development program for UW-Madison scholars, especially those from backgrounds typically underrepresented in medical science, interested in health equity research hosted by the Collaborative Center for Health Equity.”

In March 2023, Budge—along with dozens of other professors—signed a “<a href="https://www.gamcstatement.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Statement Regarding Laws Restricting Gender Affirming Medical Care</a>.” The statement focuses on two key points:
“First, there is consensus in the field, and amongst these signatories, that gender affirming medical care is important and beneficial for many transgender youth. Second, we do not support laws restricting access to gender affirmative care.” 
The signatories conclude their <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/article?id=21908" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a>:
“We write this letter to make our position on this crystal clear: The signatories below all believe, based on the current evidence, that gender affirmative care is an important part of many transgender adolescents’ overall care, and that states and health systems should not restrict access to that care.”

<a href="https://as.tufts.edu/art-architecture/people/faculty/kelli-morgan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kelli Morgan</a> is a Professor of the Practice in both Curatorial Studies and the History of Art and Architecture at Tufts University. She’s also the Director of Curatorial Studies. Her research interests include African-American visual culture, visual literacy, and anti-racist approaches to museum curative practice.
Morgan received her appointment as Professor of the Practice in September 2022. In November, Morgan <a href="https://tuftsdaily.com/news/2022/11/07/professor-kelli-morgan-founds-anti-racist-curatorial-practice-in-effort-to-diversify-museums/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appeared in an article</a> from The Tufts Daily titled “Professor Kelli Morgan founds Anti-Racist Curatorial Practice in effort to diversify museums.” 
The column says, “[Morgan] founded a new graduate certificate program this year, the Anti-Racist Curatorial Practice. Morgan developed the program…to counter systemic racism often found in museum curation.”
Tufts Daily continues, “Morgan decided to establish the program after experiencing years of discrimination as an art museum curator, most recently as an associate curate of American art at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.”
Morgan told Tufts Daily she resigned from her position due to experiencing issues with “class discrimination, gender discrimination, and racial discrimination” that she says is “really rampant in our museum culture, especially in traditional art institutions.”

<a href="https://as.tufts.edu/people/faculty/thomas-abowd">Thomas Abowd</a> is a lecturer in the American and Colonialism Studies Departments at Tufts University. Abowd is the author of <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Colonial-Jerusalem-Construction-Difference-Contemporary/dp/0815634692">“Colonial Jerusalem - The Spatial Construction of Identity and Difference in a City of Myth 1948-2012.”</a> He has also served as an <a href="https://canarymission.org/professor/Thomas_Abowd">advisory board member</a> of the group Jewish Voice for Peace in Boston and regularly collaborates with the antisemitic group, <a href="https://www.nationalsjp.org/">Students for Justice in Palestine.</a>

Abowd frequently refers to Israel as a colonial state, in which European Jews stole the land from the Arabs who were living in what is now Israel and launched a campaign of ethnic cleansing that continues to this day. In a 2016 speech at the <a href="https://www.c-span.org/video/?418402-3/palestine-center-conference-panel-2">Jerusalem Fund’s Annual Conference</a>, Abowd repeated this claim, alleging that Israel’s capital Jerusalem is being actively purged of the Arabs that live in the city.

Abowd’s view that Israel is an apartheid state forms the basis for his support for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. BDS is weaponized as a means for those who wish to economically and politically isolate, strangle, and dismantle the state of Israel by attacking any companies and nations that have ties with it. As a featured speaker at a <a href="https://jvp-boston.org/hundreds-march-boston-condemn-israeli-violence-corporate-complicity/">2014 protest</a> hosted by Jewish Voice for Peace Boston, Abowd condemned Israel and other companies that he alleged were complicit in the murder of civilians:

“As we all witnessed Israeli jets bombing civilian areas this week, Israeli troops storming Palestinian refugee camps and cities, and the killing of Palestinian civilians, I am reminded how complicit the US government, US corporations, and the American taxpayers are in the human rights abuses committed by Israel.” 

With his prior statements and actions in mind, many in the <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=13577">Tuft’s community were alarmed</a> when Abowd began offering a course titled “Colonizing Palestine.”  According to the <a href="https://as.tufts.edu/colonialismstudies/documents/coursesFall2019.pdf">course description</a>, students will examine Palestine and Israel through the “lens of colonialism studies” and answer important questions regarding issues like “gender and sexuality.”

In an <a href="https://tuftsdaily.com/opinion/2018/09/20/op-ed-professor-thomas-abowd-class-colonizing-palestine/">op-ed defending the course</a>, Abowd describes Israel’s historical claims in the Middle East as “biblical myths.” He even admits that the accounts of historians that have accused Israel of ethnic cleansing are the inspiration for the course:

“(Baruch Kimmerling) wrote in detail about the various ways in which Israel was built overwhelmingly upon the land and even within homes stolen from those Palestinians made refugees. These two scholars, like thousands of others fighting for justice and equality in Israel and Palestine, have inspired my own intellectual pursuits and, indeed, the course I am teaching this semester at Tufts.“

Professor Kareem Khubchandan is an <a href="https://as.tufts.edu/wgss/people/faculty/kareem-khubchandani" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associate Professor in Tufts University’s School of Arts and Sciences</a> department. He specializes in Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies, as well as Studies in Race, Colonialism, and Diaspora. Khubchandan has written multiple books, journal essays, and encyclopedia entries mostly promoting the history of drag and queer performances in South Asia.

Khubchandan also performs on college campuses under a persona named LaWhore Vagistan. According to <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/article?id=18353" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Campus Reform,</a> “The Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics [hosted the] Tufts professor under his drag alter ego at a meeting for the Politics of Race &amp; Ethnicity program.” Students and faculty were invited via email which included an advertisement of Khubchandan posing in a library.

Additionally, in 2019, <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/article?id=13808" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Campus Reform said</a> Khubchandan "lectur[ed] in drag at various universities in order to teach students about ‘queer nightlife’ and to bring ‘the nightclub to the classroom.” His performance themes continue to range from queer feminism to globalization to Islamophobia.

Khubchandan refers to himself as an “aunty” to his students and mentees on campus. He also teaches Critical Aunty Studies, which is part of Tufts’ Mellon Bridge program. In an <a href="https://www.criticalauntystudies.com/01-welcome" target="_blank" rel="noopener">online introduction to the aunty symposium</a>, he discussed the “mutual nature of aunty work across all generations [which includes] aging as a transgender person, fashion, drag, and body size.”

<a href="https://as.tufts.edu/education/people/faculty/cynthia-robinson" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cynthia Robinson</a> is a Senior Lecturer in the areas of Museum Studies, History, and Education at Tufts University. She also serves as the Director of Museum Studies and a faculty member for the <a href="https://asegrad.tufts.edu/program/anti-racist-curatorial-practice-certificate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Anti-Racist Curatorial Practice program</a> — a certification program that trains students in “effective methods of divesting traditional museum practices that are rooted in white colonialist and imperialist histories.”

In March 2022, Robinson took her class to an exhibit through the Tufts University Art Galleries. According to an article titled “<a href="https://now.tufts.edu/2022/03/01/hacking-diversity-and-representation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hacking for Diversity and Representation</a>,” Tufts Now said it was the Galleries' first “Art Datathon to examine how gender, race, and artistic mediums are represented in the university’s collection.”

The presentation was inspired by the director and chief curator for Tufts Galleries who conducted a public audit of campus art by “white males.” Tufts Now reported, “From that analysis (conducted as part of the Tufts as an Anti-Racist Institution initiative)...the Public Art working group concluded that while the university’s imagery wasn’t overtly racist, it was exclusionary because it did not include any people of color.”

“Many museum professionals — who are, in this country, overwhelmingly white — have subsumed direct discussion of racism by using the language of diversity and inclusivity. For several decades, the field has sought ways to diversify museum audiences to reach non-white, non-Anglo visitors through changes in programming, exhibition topics, and marketing.”

She also stated,

“Race is a social, not a biological construct…’Racism’ is a term that came into use less than a century ago, and its definition and underlying ideology [have] changed over time…CRT…argues that [the idea of] racism-free [people] is not a possible condition when we operate within racialized systems. Moreover, racism often emanates from experiences, rather than theories.”

Dr. Rebecca Fowler is a professor at Washington State University. In her “Introduction to Comparative Ethnic Studies” class, Fowler takes one grade point away when a student uses the phrase “illegal alien” or “illegals.” The goal is that students will “come to recognize how white privilege functions in everyday social structures and institutions.”

Dr. Selena Lester Breikss is an Associate Professor at Washington State University. In her “Women and Popular Culture” class, Breikss threatened to give students a failing grade for using verbiage she considers, “oppressive and hateful language.” The punishment includes, “but [is] not limited to removal from the class without attendance or participation points, failure of the assignment, and— in extreme cases— failure for the semester.”

Gutterman</a> is an Associate Professor and Director of the <a href="https://newhouse.syr.edu/centers/tully-center-for-free-speech/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Newhouse School’s Tully Center for Free Speech at Syracuse University</a>.
On July 10, 2023, Gutterman published an article on CNN Opinion titled, “<a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/10/opinions/social-media-ruling-biden-administration-gutterman/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Contacting Tech Companies About Disinformation isn’t Government Censorship.</a>” This piece is a response to the lawsuit accusing the Biden administration of attempting to silence conservative speakers by leaning on various social media platforms.
This <a href="https://ago.mo.gov/home/news/2023/03/06/missouri-attorney-general-andrew-bailey-asks-court-to-block-biden-from-violating-americans-1st-amendment-rights-citing-1-400-facts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lawsuit</a>, filed by attorneys general from Missouri and Louisiana, claims that the US Government is responsible for (an unspecified amount of) censorship of posts and voices that questioned the efficacy of vaccines, mask mandates, elections, and other issues.
Regarding the lawsuit, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry stated:
“The evidence in our case is shocking and offensive with senior federal officials deciding that they could dictate what Americans can and cannot say on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other platforms about COVID-19, elections, criticism of the government, and more.”
The Free Speech Director Gutterman articulated his thoughts on the lawsuit, saying:
“The complaint cites occasions when the Biden administration threatened to take antitrust action against the companies over misinformation about Covid-19, vaccines, and elections or undo Section 230… This also falls short of actual censorship.”
“It’s worth noting for argument’s sake that even if the communications between government officials were acts of censorship, the Supreme Court has never held that First Amendment prohibitions on government censorship are absolute.”

<a href="https://news.syr.edu/faculty-experts/dana-l-cloud/">Dr. Dana Cloud</a> is a Department of Communication and Rhetorical Studies Professor at Syracuse University. A member of the International Socialist Organization, Cloud is a leading proponent of idea that America is to blame for 9/11 due to its interventionist foreign policy in the Middle East. She began to blame the U.S. for what happened the day after 9/11. She also wrote a new Pledge of Allegiance in 2002, which said among other statements, “I pledge allegiance to the people of Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan, and to their struggles to survive and resist slavery to corporate greed, brutal wars against their families, and the economic and environmental ruin wrought by global capitalism.”

Jackson</a> is an Assistant Professor of Political Science and a Senior Research Associate at the <a href="https://www.maxwell.syr.edu/campbell/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Campbell Public Affairs Institute</a> at <a href="https://www.syracuse.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Syracuse University.</a> According to her university biography, Dr. Jackson’s research and teachings are focused on “black politics, gender and sexuality, political behavior, public opinion, and mixed methods.”

According to a <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study conducted by the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED)</a>, BLM can be linked to 95% of the riots around the country–notably in Summer 2020 following the death of George Floyd. In an analysis of the study, <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Federalist</a> found, “of the 633 incidents coded as riots, 88 percent are recorded as involving Black Lives Matter Activists.” The resulting riots were the largest in American history, <a href="https://fee.org/articles/george-floyd-riots-caused-record-setting-2-billion-in-damage-new-report-says-here-s-why-the-true-cost-is-even-higher/#:~:text=Only%20now%20are%20we%20beginning,%241%20billion%20to%20%242%20billion." target="_blank" rel="noopener">causing an estimated $2 billion in damages and 47 deaths.</a>

Dr. Jackson further defended the rioter’s vandalism and looting, describing it as a justified response to white supremacy.

Katherine Kidd, Ph.D. is the Assistant Teaching Professor and English Studies Coordinator at Syracuse University in New York. <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/syracuse-u-professor-defends-sexually-explicit-k-12-book/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">College Fix</a> reported Kidd “defended the inclusion of a sexually explicit book in the nation’s K-12 Schools, saying she doesn’t see what is so ‘scandalous’ about it.”

The graphic novel memoir, published in 2014, is a guide on gender identity as well as Kobabe’s personal journey of explaining her sexuality and pronouns to her family. Due to explicit images and explanations, the book has been targeted for bans by several school boards across the United States including in North Carolina and Georgia.

“Kidd does not shy away from challenging texts…[Her] appreciation for texts that are perceived as shocking has influenced the way [she] teaches literature courses. Often Kidd strives to include controversial novels and readings in order to expose her students to perspectives and ideas that differ from her own," according to the Daily Orange.

Professor Kidd is the host and producer of her own <a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/television-714-delaware-st-podcast/id1436455352" target="_blank" rel="noopener">podcast, “714 Delaware St”</a> where she discusses various topics around “racist and offensive statements of Rosanne Barr.” Kidd’s LinkedIn profile says she specializes in American studies, working-class studies, queer studies, and television and pop culture.

Gutterman</a> is an Associate Professor and Director of the <a href="https://newhouse.syr.edu/centers/tully-center-for-free-speech/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Newhouse School’s Tully Center for Free Speech at Syracuse University</a>.

On July 10, 2023, Gutterman published an article on CNN Opinion titled, “<a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/10/opinions/social-media-ruling-biden-administration-gutterman/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Contacting Tech Companies About Disinformation isn’t Government Censorship.</a>” This piece is a response to the lawsuit accusing the Biden administration of attempting to silence conservative speakers by leaning on various social media platforms.

This <a href="https://ago.mo.gov/home/news/2023/03/06/missouri-attorney-general-andrew-bailey-asks-court-to-block-biden-from-violating-americans-1st-amendment-rights-citing-1-400-facts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lawsuit</a>, filed by attorneys general from Missouri and Louisiana, claims that the US Government is responsible for (an unspecified amount of) censorship of posts and voices that questioned the efficacy of vaccines, mask mandates, elections, and other issues.

Regarding the lawsuit, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry stated:
“The evidence in our case is shocking and offensive with senior federal officials deciding that they could dictate what Americans can and cannot say on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other platforms about COVID-19, elections, criticism of the government, and more.”
The Free Speech Director Gutterman articulated his thoughts on the lawsuit, saying:
“The complaint cites occasions when the Biden administration threatened to take antitrust action against the companies over misinformation about Covid-19, vaccines, and elections or undo Section 230… This also falls short of actual censorship.”
“It’s worth noting for argument’s sake that even if the communications between government officials were acts of censorship, the Supreme Court has never held that First Amendment prohibitions on government censorship are absolute.”

<a href="https://www.wm.edu/sites/dhp/faculty/ciccariello-maher-george.php">Dr. George Ciccariello-Maher</a> is a Visiting Scholar of Decolonizing Humanities and Modern Languages and Literatures at the College of William and Mary. He previously taught in the Department of History and Politics at Drexel University.

From the College of William and Mary's website, his work at the Decolonizing Humanities Project is <a href="https://www.wm.edu/sites/dhp/decoloniality/index.php">described</a> as exploring, “how colonization, modernity, capitalism, and, most recently, neoliberalism has displaced an array of modes of living, thinking and being.  Decoloniality reveals “the dark side of modernity” and how it is built “on the backs” of “others.”

Ciccarello first came to notoriety for his racially inflammatory statements on twitter. On Christmas of 2016, he <a href="https://www.inquirer.com/philly/news/Drexel-officials-Professor-George-Ciccariello-Mahers-White-Genocide-tweet-was-utterly-reprehensible.html">tweeted</a> out,

“All I want for Christmas is White Genocide,”

and,

“To clarify: when the whites were massacred during the Haitian Revolution, that was a  good thing indeed.”

He also tweeted out,

“Some guy gave up his first-class seat for a uniformed soldier. People are thanking him. I’m trying not to vomit or yell about Mosul.”

When Ciccariello was confronted by <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndkvgmGIQHQ">Tucker Carlson</a> over his tweets, he only proceeded to double-down. In the following exchange, he defended the academic veracity of his tweets by claiming, “performance art is scholarship.”

Ciccariello doesn’t shy away from utilizing violence to accomplish his radical beliefs. In an op-ed for <a href="https://www.salon.com/2015/05/04/riots_work_wolf_blitzer_and_the_washington_post_completely_missed_the_real_lesson_from_baltimore/">Salon</a>, he praised the riots that had engulfed Baltimore in 2015 in an article titled “Riots Work.” He wrote, “without the threat of insurgency in the streets, no charges would ever have been brought in the murder of Freddie Gray.” Obviously not a proponent of police, Ciccariello openly <a href="https://www.salon.com/2015/04/24/we_must_disband_the_police_body_cameras_arent_enough_only_radical_change_will_stop_cops_who_kill/">advocates</a> for the abolishment of police forces, describing them as, “originally slavecatchers.”

When not calling for the disbandment of our law enforcement, Ciccariello is an ardent defender of the socialist regime in Venezuela. He regularly <a href="https://www.counterpunch.org/2013/04/12/thatcher-is-dead-long-live-chavez/">praises</a> Hugo Chavez and has bizarrely <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhYz1owM-uA&amp;feature=youtu.be">claimed</a> that Venezuela does not have corrupt elections.

Ciccariello doesn’t shy away from violent groups as well. In order to fight white-nationalism, Ciccarello called on Americans to embrace the radical group ANTIFA in an interview with <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTv_hqjrmi8&amp;feature=youtu.be">Democracy Now</a> following the El Paso mass shooting. Although committed by a stated white nationalist, in the same interview Ciccariello placed the blame on Donald Trump for the deaths, claiming that his rhetoric on immigrants inspired the shooter’s rampage.  Ciccariello made similar accusations in a prior <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTv_hqjrmi8&amp;feature=youtu.be">interview</a> about the Texas Church Massacre, alluding that “whiteness” and Trump’s stoking of white victimhood was to blame for the murders.

Stephen E. Hanson is the Chair of the Confucious Institute in addition to serving as the Vice-Provost for International Affairs and Director of the Reves Center for International Affairs at the College of William and Mary.

<a href="https://www.wm.edu/as/americanstudies/graduate/graddirectory/smoot_k.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kelsey Smoot</a> is a PH.D. Candidate in American Studies at the College of William &amp; Mary in Virginia.

In June 2020, Smoot penned an article for <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jun/29/white-people-ally-black-people-sacrifice" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Guardian</a> titled, “White people say they want to be an ally to Black people. But are they ready for sacrifice?” In the piece, she argues that white Americans are unwilling to change any of their behaviors or attitudes in a way that would benefit black people. 

The piece was written in the midst of nationwide riots following George Floyd's death. While acknowledging that many of her white friends reached out to offer money and protect her “energy and emotional labor,” Smoot still accuses whites of silence, and therefore compliance, regarding white supremacy: 
“Unfortunately, good deeds will not dismantle systemic oppression. White kindness was unable to spare the lives of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, nor any of the countless other victims of White supremacy in our nation’s history.”
If whites wanted to perform true anti-racist work, Smoot argues, they should be willing to sacrifice future pay raises and close friendships for people of color: 
“Real allyship enacted by White Americans, with a clear objective to make equitable the lived experiences of individuals across racial lines, means a willingness to lose things….Refusing a pay raise at one’s job and insisting that it be reallocated to co-workers of color who are undoubtedly being underpaid. The loss of potentially every close relationship with other White friends and family members who refuse to acknowledge or amend their behaviors that reinforce systemic oppression.”
Smoot concludes that white people will never be willing to sacrifice their privilege, so all she can do is “prepare for another day of navigating White America.”

In another article written from that summer, Smoot <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jul/04/juneteenth-not-the-fourth-of-july-was-the-real-independence-day">announces that she will no longer celebrate the Fourth of July</a>, as it represents an “exclusionary nationalist narrative.” Smoot writes that in adulthood, the idea of the holiday became “untenable” once she learned of America’s oppressive history:
“But as I moved into adulthood, learned the expansive and ongoing history of American imperialism, experienced blatant racism, homophobia, and transphobia, and internalized that my ancestors were held in bondage and considered chattel far beyond the date and year that I was supposed to consider the demarcation of American “freedom”, the idea of celebrating the holiday became untenable.”
Smoot further writes that she cannot celebrate America’s birth as she may be martyred in its current climate:
“In this current climate, as a Black American who is also queer and trans* identified, there is not a day that goes by when I don’t feel fear….I fear that my name might become a hashtag – my death made a viral internet sensation by onlookers recording my final breaths, as my life is taken by someone who swore to serve and protect me.” 
Smoot—<a href="https://queerinsomniac.me/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">who identifies as a “Black, queer, trans-masculine, and non-binary writer</a>”—has even shunned close family members and friends who incorrectly used her pronouns (they-them). In an article written for <a href="https://www.huffpost.com/entry/misgendering-they-them-pronouns-nonbinary_n_6269a65de4b01131b11e407e">HuffPost</a>, Smoot states that she is becoming increasingly intolerant of anyone mistakenly misgendering him, claiming that refusing to do so nullifies her identity. Acknowledging that she will lose the people closest to him, Smoot concludes this is still the proper course of action as “trans and nonbinary people are worth the effort.”

According to her biography, Smoot's research interests encompass “queer studies, race/racism, cultural studies, and social movements.” Smoot further blogs and writes poetry on her personal site, <a href="https://queerinsomniac.me/blog" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Queer Insomniac’s Musings</a>.

<a href="https://www.wm.edu/sites/dhp/faculty/sheehi-s.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stephen Sheehi</a> is the Sultan Qaboos Eminent Professor of Middle East Studies at the College of William &amp; Mary. Dr. Sheehi also serves as the Faculty Director of the “Decolonizing Humanities Project.”

Although his position falls under the Humanities Department, the <a href="https://www.wm.edu/sites/dhp/index.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">official site for the project</a> states the field should not have to justify its “economic or practical values in higher education.” Rather, Sheehi argues that humanities are used for “tooling” students to participate in “irredeemable,” racist systems that perpetuate inequality: 

“The Decolonizing Humanities Project understands that the Humanities are structured by and complicit with the legacies of racism, sexism, patriarchy, settler-colonialism and colonialism.” 

Sheehi then accuses America of being built on land stolen from Native Americans.  The university, he claims, likewise continues to benefit from the labor of “kidnapped and enslaved Africans:”

“Decolonizing Humanities Project seeks to dismantle forms of settler-colonialism and racism, with special attention to anti-black and anti-indigenous racism, and how they continue to structure our lives in the university, Virginia, and the settler-colonial state now known as the United States.“

Sheehi states that higher education further perpetuates racial capitalism in the “settler colonial state known as the United States.” He vows to dismantle settler colonialism and capitalism through a process known as “decoloniality.” 

Under the tab, “<a href="https://www.wm.edu/sites/dhp/decoloniality/index.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">What is Decoloniality?</a>” Sheehi defines it as the study of the “matrix” of power and oppression created by colonialism. He then claims that colonialism’s effects can still be felt today as modern society was “built on the backs of others.” 

Decoloniality reveals "the dark side of modernity" and how it is built "on the backs" of "others," others that modernity racializes, erases, and/or objectifies. 

Continuing:

“(Decolonialism is) a way to explore colonization, settler-colonialism, racial capitalism (particularly as it grew out, in full racializing force,  with the enslavement of black Africans), modernity, and, most recently, neoliberalism and necrocapitalism and the ways in which they have displaced an array of modes of living, thinking and being in our natural world.”

Dr. Sheehi concludes by calling for the disruption of “settler-colonial logic” and decentering of “hetero-cisnormativity, gender hierarchies, and racial privilege.” 

The web page further lists a myriad of radical groups under the “<a href="https://www.wm.edu/sites/dhp/resources/index.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Resources</a>” column. One of them—titled, “DecolonizeThisPlace,”—is a violent, Antifa-aligned organization that is led by professor <a href="https://www.professorwatchlist.org/professor/aminhusain" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Amin Hussein</a>. A 2020 riot by the group resulted in 13 arrests and $100,000 in damages.

In a piece for <a href="https://theconversation.com/what-is-racial-battle-fatigue-a-school-psychologist-explains-192493" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Conversation</a> titled, “What is racial battle fatigue? A school psychologist explains,” Grant describes “racial battle fatigue” as a concept connected to that of “battle fatigue.” Based on <a href="https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=yBdIODIAAAAJ&amp;hl=en&amp;oi=sra" target="_blank" rel="noopener">William A. Smith’s</a> definition of the term—“used&#8230;to describe the <a href="https://scholar.google.com/scholar?cluster=4303721963682388326&amp;hl=en&amp;oi=scholarr" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cumulative effects of racial hostility</a> that Black people experience at predominantly white colleges and universities”—he describes the term as such:

In a piece for <a href="https://theconversation.com/what-is-racial-battle-fatigue-a-school-psychologist-explains-192493" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Conversation</a> titled, “What is racial battle fatigue? A school psychologist explains,” Grant describes “racial battle fatigue” as a concept connected to that of “battle fatigue.” Based on <a href="https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=yBdIODIAAAAJ&amp;hl=en&amp;oi=sra" target="_blank" rel="noopener">William A. Smith’s</a> definition of the term—“used...to describe the <a href="https://scholar.google.com/scholar?cluster=4303721963682388326&amp;hl=en&amp;oi=scholarr" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cumulative effects of racial hostility</a> that Black people experience at predominantly white colleges and universities”—he describes the term as such:

<a href="https://fsph.iupui.edu/about/directory/halverson-paul.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Paul Halverson</a> is a Professor and Founding Dean of the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health at Indiana University.
In April 2021, Halverson wrote an article for The Conversation titled, <a href="https://theconversation.com/declaring-racism-a-public-health-crisis-brings-more-attention-to-solving-long-ignored-racial-gaps-in-health-143330" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Declaring racism a public health crisis brings more attention to solving long-ignored racial gaps in health.”</a> The article was written shortly after CDC Director Dr. Rochelle P. Walensky <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2021/s0408-racism-health.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called racism an epidemic</a> that affects “the entire health of our nation.”
Halverson agrees with Walensky and writes that “drawing attention to the racial gaps in health care is an important step in addressing them.” He claims acknowledging racism as a public health threat “may require all health-related professional training programs to include structural racism identification, implied bias and anti-racism strategies within the curriculum.”
Halverson concludes his article by stating,
“Treating racism like the disease that the CDC says it is suggests boosting our investment in public health funding would be money well spent.” 
On June 1, 2020, following the death of George Floyd and bloody protests across the country, Halverson released a message titled <a href="https://fsph.iupui.edu/news-events/news/response-to-racism.html?_gl=1*1k82m4j*_ga*ODgwNDQzNTAuMTY2Mzk3MTkwMA..*_ga_61CH0D2DQW*MTY2OTkxODk1NS4xMS4xLjE2Njk5MTkxNzUuMC4wLjA.&amp;_ga=2.265060108.209906179.1669918956-88044350.1663971900" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Our Response to Racism.”</a> In his letter, he writes:

<a href="https://liberalarts.iupui.edu/departments/journalismPR/directory/chris-lamb/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chris Lamb</a> is a Professor of Journalism and Chair of the Journalism and Public Relations Department at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). His university profile says that he has written extensively on sports, race, and media.

Professor Lamb has been very outspoken about his dislike of former President Trump and conservatives in general. In an article written for <a href="https://theconversation.com/texas-voting-law-builds-on-long-legacy-of-racism-from-gop-leaders-166807" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Conversation</a>, he states, “For several decades, the GOP has depended on racism to keep white people in power and nonwhites on the outside.” He says:
“When Trump ran for president in 2016, he used racially divisive rhetoric, calling Mexican immigrants criminals and rapists, proposing a ban on all Muslims entering the U.S. and suggesting a judge should recuse himself from a case solely because of the judge’s Mexican heritage.” 
He also claims:
“His campaign used the slogan “Make America Great Again,” which had been widely criticized for being a dog whistle to white people who felt that minorities were encroaching on their country.”

During the Spring 2021 semester, Professor Lamb taught a course titled “Media Literacy.” <a href="https://news.iu.edu/live/news/27377-timely-media-literacy-course-to-examine-fake-news" target="_blank" rel="noopener">News at IU</a> says the course “will help students decipher the noise and identify fake and factual news.” In an interview, Lamb was asked about his inspiration for the course. He stated:
“My take on media literacy will be based heavily on what President Donald Trump has called “fake news.” … his objective was to discredit the news media and therefore discredit any criticism of him and, in doing so, seize power in the way authoritarian despots have long done.”

<a href="https://oneill.iupui.edu/contact/people-directory/stucky-thomas.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Thomas Stucky</a> is a Professor of Criminal Justice at the Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).

In 2020, Stucky <a href="https://campusreform.org/article?id=16158" target="_blank" rel="noopener">taught a course titled, “Defund the Police? Race, Policing, and Criminal Justice Reform.”</a> Campus Reform obtained screenshots of an email sent from Director of Student Services Nicole Amonette that states “this class will explore the complex history of policing in America from early slave patrols through the civil rights era protest responses to modern-day policing, as part of a broader examination of the explosion of the American criminal justice system.”

Amonette writes that the course will “examine evidence of racial disparities in criminal justice outcomes for African Americans, LatinX, and other minoritized groups.” In addition, the course will:
“...examine reforms to simultaneously reduce the size and scope of our criminal justice system and increase public safety, as well as policing reforms to maximize justice for all who live in America, while maintaining public safety.”

<a href="https://oneill.iupui.edu/contact/people-directory/atlas-pierre.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pierre Atlas</a> is a Senior Lecturer at the Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. Atlas teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the Public Affairs and Criminal Justice programs.

For Black History Month, Atlas wrote an article for the Indianapolis Business Journal titled “<a href="https://www.ibj.com/articles/pierre-atlas-acknowledging-reality-is-not-being-woke" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Acknowledging reality is not being ‘woke.’</a>” He begins by discussing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s recent proposal to ban state-funded universities from teaching topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. He writes, “Banning DEI might score points in the culture war, but it won’t erase the facts or the legacy of America’s history.”

Atlas says, “Racism might no longer be lawful, but its deep legacy (and continued practice) infects our social, cultural, economic and legal institutions to this day.” He states:
“The physical mobility of African Americans has been constrained in law and in everyday practice since the time of slavery: from slave patrols (America’s original organized police forces), to ‘sundown towns,’ to today’s racial profiling.” 
Atlas believes:
“Driving while Black, shopping while Black, even walking or jogging while Black produces humiliations, if not life-threatening encounters, around the country every day.” 
He concludes by arguing that “institutional and systemic racism is real” and “acknowledging this unfortunate reality should not be dismissed, ridiculed or banned as ‘wokeness.’”

Atlas’s Black History Month article is not the first time he has been outspoken about DeSantis’s new bill. On his Twitter account, where he describes himself as “Biased in favor of democracy,” he tweeted:

Atlas has also been outspoken about the need for gun control. In an article for <a href="https://theconversation.com/american-gun-culture-is-based-on-frontier-mythology-but-ignores-how-common-gun-restrictions-were-in-the-old-west-184932" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Conversation</a>, he writes that “for those Americans who see the gun as both symbolizing and guaranteeing individual liberty, gun control laws are perceived as fundamentally un-American and a threat to their freedom.”

He claims:
“Hardcore gun owners, their lobbyists and many members of the Republican Party refuse to allow the thousands of annual gun deaths and the additional thousands of nonfatal shootings to be used as justifications for restricting their rights as law-abiding citizens. They are willing to accept gun violence as an inevitable side effect of a free and armed but violent society.” 
In a 2017 op-ed for <a href="https://www.indystar.com/story/opinion/2017/10/23/atlas-right-own-guns-isnt-unlimited/790169001/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Indianapolis Star</a>, Atlas writes, “Gun rights advocates, for their part, need to recognize that no right, not even the Second Amendment, is absolute.”

On his Twitter, he equates gun ownership to white supremacy:

<a href="https://liberalarts.iupui.edu/programs/aip/directory/charmayne-charli-champion-shaw/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Charmayne 'Charli' Champion-Shaw</a> is Director of the Office of American Indian Programs and a Lecturer in Native American &amp; Indigenous Studies at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).

In October 2022, Champion-Shaw created a bulletin board display titled “Understanding Christian Privilege” which remained up until the end of the 2022-2023 school year. <a href="https://campusreform.org/article?id=23356" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Campus Reform</a> posted photos of the display, which showed six full pages of detailed information. The information included the definition that Christian privilege is “the idea that Christians receive inherent advantages in society (in school, in the workplace, and in public places) due to the perception that Christianity is status quo, while other religions are not.”

The display also featured a “Christian Privilege Checklist” where students could see if they “ever benefit from or exhibit behaviors denoting their favored status as Christians.” Some of the items on the checklist included:

 	<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">“Your faith is accepted/supported at your workplace”</li>
 	<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">“Music and television programs pertaining to your religion’s holidays are readily accessible”</li>
 	<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">“You can worship freely, without fear of violence or threats”</li>
 	<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">“A bumper sticker supporting your religion won’t likely lead to your car being vandalized”</li>
</ul>
Additionally, the <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/public-university-display-teaches-christian-privilege-directly-connected-white-supremacy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">materials on the bulletin board</a> stated, “Christian privilege is directly connected to white supremacy and settler colonialism.” It further described Manifest Destiny as “the whole idea that drove white people’s racist and genocidal entitlement to take over North America,” saying:
“If murdering people and forcing them to commit to your religion while you take over their lands and try your hardest to stamp out their culture isn’t the apex of privilege, I don’t know what else is.” 
Other assertions Champion-Shaw’s display made included:
<ul>
 	<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">“Christians do not face systemic discrimination in the U.S.”</li>
 	<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">“Religious diversity is not the same as Christianity being under attack”</li>
 	<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">“Christianity is too often seen as synonymous with moral goodness”</li>
 	<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">“To wield Christian privilege is often to weaponize religion against non-Christians”</li>
</ul>
Champion-Shaw described herself as “the creator and organizer” of the display and told Campus Reform she would be “happy to chat after graduation.” However, Campus Reform reports she has not replied to any of their follow-up inquiries.

Joy Reid–host of The Reid Out on MSNBC– is a Hearst Visiting Professor at Howard University in Washington DC. Reid is known to launch into partisan diatribes during broadcasts and regularly uses her platform to berate conservatives.
During the riots in the summer of 2020 following the death of George Floyd, Reid has claimed there is “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzPloMpG2EM&amp;ab_channel=MSNBC">zero evidence</a>” that any of the destruction was connected to the movement. She has claimed that when there was any violence, it was inflicted by “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzPloMpG2EM&amp;ab_channel=MSNBC">white supremacists</a>” and Trump supporters.
It is reported that there was a <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/">significant presence</a> by BLM activists at over 95% of the riots during the summer of 2020, resulting in at least 47 deaths and over <a href="https://fee.org/articles/george-floyd-riots-caused-record-setting-2-billion-in-damage-new-report-says-here-s-why-the-true-cost-is-even-higher/#:~:text=Only%20now%20are%20we%20beginning,%241%20billion%20to%20%242%20billion.">2 billion</a> in damages.
Reid has <a href="https://news.yahoo.com/msnbc-joy-reid-labels-justice-150310965.html">referred to Justice Clarence Thomas as “Uncle Clarence,”</a> a reference to the racial epithet “Uncle Tom” when discussing his court rulings.
Following the <a href="https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/james-hodgkinson-shooting-republicans-baseball-game">2017 congressional baseball shooting</a>, Reid and her guest <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGQEdDySUVI&amp;ab_channel=MSNBC">mocked the victims for holding insufficiently liberal positions</a>. She accused Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise of racism while he was fighting for his life after the attack.
In 2018, blog posts were unearthed from Reid’s old website that contained inflammatory language, bigoted statements, and<a href="https://nypost.com/2018/05/31/joy-reid-reportedly-once-touted-notorious-9-11-conspiracy-film/"> links to conspiracies that accused the United States government of plotting the 9/11 terror attacks</a>. <a href="https://nypost.com/2018/04/24/msnbc-stars-lame-excuse-after-homophobic-remarks-surface/?_ga=2.40761378.1834013034.1527547273-216432594.1517259352">Reid alleged that many members of Congress were secretly gay</a>, and <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/msnbc-host-joy-reid-criticized-jews-ariel-sharon-in-old-blog-posts/">openly mocked Jews</a>.
Once the blog was unearthed and began receiving media attention, Reid initially acknowledged that she had written the posts and apologized for her “bigoted remarks.” However, once additional posts surfaced, Reid reversed her position and claimed that she had never written the blog posts to begin with. Joy Reid–host of The Reid Out on MSNBC– is a Hearst Visiting Professor at Howard University in Washington DC. Reid is known to launch into partisan diatribes during broadcasts and regularly uses her platform to berate conservatives.

During the riots in the summer of 2020 following the death of George Floyd, Reid has claimed there is “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzPloMpG2EM&amp;ab_channel=MSNBC">zero evidence</a>” that any of the destruction was connected to the movement. She has claimed that when there was any violence, it was inflicted by “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzPloMpG2EM&amp;ab_channel=MSNBC">white supremacists</a>” and Trump supporters.

It is reported that there was a <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/">significant presence</a> by BLM activists at over 95% of the riots during the summer of 2020, resulting in at least 47 deaths and over <a href="https://fee.org/articles/george-floyd-riots-caused-record-setting-2-billion-in-damage-new-report-says-here-s-why-the-true-cost-is-even-higher/#:~:text=Only%20now%20are%20we%20beginning,%241%20billion%20to%20%242%20billion.">2 billion</a> in damages.

Reid has <a href="https://news.yahoo.com/msnbc-joy-reid-labels-justice-150310965.html">referred to Justice Clarence Thomas as “Uncle Clarence,”</a> a reference to the racial epithet “Uncle Tom” when discussing his court rulings.

Following the <a href="https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/james-hodgkinson-shooting-republicans-baseball-game">2017 congressional baseball shooting</a>, Reid and her guest <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGQEdDySUVI&amp;ab_channel=MSNBC">mocked the victims for holding insufficiently liberal positions</a>. She accused Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise of racism while he was fighting for his life after the attack.

In 2018, blog posts were unearthed from Reid’s old website that contained inflammatory language, bigoted statements, and<a href="https://nypost.com/2018/05/31/joy-reid-reportedly-once-touted-notorious-9-11-conspiracy-film/"> links to conspiracies that accused the United States government of plotting the 9/11 terror attacks</a>. <a href="https://nypost.com/2018/04/24/msnbc-stars-lame-excuse-after-homophobic-remarks-surface/?_ga=2.40761378.1834013034.1527547273-216432594.1517259352">Reid alleged that many members of Congress were secretly gay</a>, and <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/msnbc-host-joy-reid-criticized-jews-ariel-sharon-in-old-blog-posts/">openly mocked Jews</a>.

Once the blog was unearthed and began receiving media attention, Reid initially acknowledged that she had written the posts and apologized for her “bigoted remarks.” However, once additional posts surfaced, Reid reversed her position and claimed that she had never written the blog posts to begin with. Nikole Hannah-Jones is the inaugural Knight Chair of Race and Reporting at Howard University in Washington D.C.

Hannah-Jones is best known as one of the primary authors of The 1619 Project. <a href="https://archive.org/details/1619project/full_issue_of_the_1619_project">Published in July of 2019 by The New York Times Magazine</a>, The 1619 Project is a series of reports and essays that purport to document the origins of and lingering effects of racism in America. The stated intent for the project is to establish 1619–the first year that slaves were brought to the British Colonies in America–as the true founding of the United States, rather than 1776. The project’s central thesis alleges that slavery and racism are the basis out of which the United States was created.<a href="https://pulitzercenter.org/blog/nikole-hannah-jones-wins-pulitzer-prize-1619-project"> Hannah-Jones was awarded The Pulitzer Prize</a> for her work on the project. Since its publication, The 1619 Project and its authors have faced a myriad of problems, including accusations of controversial hiring tactics, false claims, and shoddy research.

Hannah-Jones elicited controversy for the publication and retraction of false information in her articles and unearthed racially incendiary remarks.

- Shortly after the publication of the report, Hannah-Jones admitted that <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/18/reader-center/1619-project-slavery-jamestown.html">hiring almost exclusively black staff was a “non-negotiable”</a> aspect when beginning to work on the 1619 issue of The New York Times Magazine.

- One of Hannah-Jones’ central claims—“that one of the primary reasons the colonists decided to declare their independence from Britain was because they wanted to protect the institution of slavery”—<a href="https://nypost.com/2020/03/14/new-york-times-corrects-the-1619-project-but-its-still-a-giant-lie/">was retracted by the paper in early 2020</a>.

- In January 2020, <a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/01/inclusive-case-1776-not-1619/604435/">numerous historians, scholars, and commentators—both conservatives and socialists</a>— as cited by The Atlantic criticized The New York Times and The 1619 Project for publishing false information about American history and slavery.

- In October 2020, <a href="https://www.nas.org/blogs/article/pulitzer-board-must-revoke-nikole-hannah-jones-prize">accomplished professors and intellectuals penned an open letter</a> calling on “the Pulitzer Prize Board to rescind the 2020 Prize for Commentary awarded to Nikole Hannah-Jones for her lead essay in The 1619 Project” because “... the article itself was false when written, making a large claim that protecting the institution of slavery was a primary motive for the American Revolution, a claim for which there is simply no evidence.”

Bret Stephens, a columnist for The New York Times and colleague of Hannah-Jones,<a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20201105003122/https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/09/opinion/nyt-1619-project-criticisms.html"> rebuffed the 1619 Project,</a> writing in October 2020 that “Journalists are, most often, in the business of writing the first rough draft of history, not trying to have the last word on it. We are best when we try to tell truths with a lowercase t, following evidence in directions unseen, not the capital-T truth of a pre-established narrative in which inconvenient facts get discarded.”

By late 2020, both Hannah-Jones’ claims and The 1619 Project as a whole began receiving scrutiny–<a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/01/inclusive-case-1776-not-1619/604435/">from both the Left and Right</a>–on a near-daily occurrence. Hannah-Jones then falsely <a href="https://reason.com/2020/09/23/1619-project-nikole-hannah-jones-1776-founding-race-new-york-times/">stated that The 1619 Project never claimed that 1619 was America’s true founding</a>, despite the fact that the allegation was printed on the front pages of the issue and was repeated numerous times in televised and print interviews.

Hannah-Jones attracted further scrutiny over a racially explicit op-ed that she had written as a student at Notre Dame University in 1996. <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/06/25/in-racist-screed-nyts-1619-project-founder-calls-white-race-barbaric-devils-bloodsuckers-no-different-than-hitler/">As reported by The Federalist</a>, Mrs. Hannah-Jones described white people as “bloodsuckers” and accused the white race of being the “biggest murderer, rapist, pillager, and thief, of the modern world.” She alleges in the same article that Africans arrived in the Americas “long before Columbus or any Europeans,” and that Christopher Columbus was “no different than Hitler.”

Hannah-Jones was originally <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/article?id=17529">offered the position of Knight Chair in Race and Investigative Journalism and Professor of the Practice</a> at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Activists and later Hannah-Jones accused the university of racism for withholding tenure. When the University finally bowed to the pressure and <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/07/06/nikole-hannah-jones-denies-tenure-at-unc-accepts-howard-role/">offered to meet her demands, Jones refused and accepted a similar position at Howard University.</a>

<a href="https://thedig.howard.edu/all-stories/two-iconic-american-writers-join-howard-create-center-help-educate-next-generation-black-journalists" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ta-Nehisi Coates</a> is an incoming professor in the College of Arts and Sciences at Howard University. He currently serves as a <a href="https://journalism.nyu.edu/about-us/news-post/2017/01/30/author-ta-nehisi-coates-join-faculty-nyus-carter-journalism-institute/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">faculty member</a> in the NYU Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute at New York University. 

Coates spent much of his professional career writing for The Atlantic as a national correspondent. In 2014, he penned the 16,000-word essay, “<a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2014/06/the-case-for-reparations/361631/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Case for Reparations</a>.” The polemic brands America as a “slave society” that was founded on white supremacy:

No American is spared from this indictment, Coates argues, as the legacy of racism extends to each white citizen: 
“The crime indicts the American people themselves, at every level, and in nearly every configuration. A crime that implicates the entire American people deserves its hearing in the legislative body that represents them.” 
Coates has further <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-atlantic-writer-says-trump-presidency-paul-bois" target="_blank" rel="noopener">disparaged whites</a>, calling their votes an “indispensable” effort in promoting white supremacy each election cycle: 

“When you ask yourself why majorities of white people across socioeconomic demographics, across gender lines, across education lines, would endorse someone who only had whiteness to offer and all you come to is tribalism. That’s all that’s left.”

Coates is most <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/ta-nehisi-coates-who-called-9-11-responders-menaces-of-nature-to-speak-at-west-point" target="_blank" rel="noopener">infamously</a> known for his 2001 book, <a href="https://ta-nehisicoates.com/books/between-the-world-and-me/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Between the World and Me</a>, where he describes 9/11 first responders as sub-human and “menaces of nature:” 

“They were not human to me…Black, white, or whatever, they were menaces of nature; they were the fire, the comet, the storm, which could – with no justification – shatter my body.”

While producing a series of Captain America comics, Coates allegedly depicted popular academic <a href="https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2021/apr/6/jordan-b-peterson-stunned-by-red-skull-hit-job-in-/">Jordan Peterson as the demagogic, fascist Red Skull</a>. 

Widely acclaimed on the left for his work, Coates was awarded a <a href="https://www.macfound.org/fellows/class-of-2015/ta-nehisi-coates#searchresults" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MacArthur Genius Grant</a> in 2015. The “no-strings-attached” program gifted <a href="https://www.macfound.org/programs/fellows/strategy">$800,000</a> to Coates for “Interpreting complex and challenging issues around race and racism through the lens of personal experience and nuanced historical analysis.

Knijnenburg made headlines after taking to his Facebook where he unleashed a barrage of insults aimed at Republicans and the GOP. As of the time of this article being written, the school still has refused to comment on the posts. On his website, Knijnenburg says that he uses his research to try to understand the psychological principles behind online decisions such as "Should I post this on Facebook or not?" <a href="https://socialwelfare.stonybrookmedicine.edu/faculty-staff/hayward" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Anna Hayward, Ph.D.</a>, is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Welfare at Stony Brook University. Her research interests and publications include “children and families affected by incarceration, environmental justice and global environmental health.” 

Between 2011-2015, the Department of Health &amp; Human Services awarded Hayward $2.87 million in grant funds through a project known as the Suffolk County Fatherhood Initiative: Implementations &amp; Impact Evaluation. The <a href="https://www.acf.hhs.gov/sites/default/files/documents/ofa/Retreat_Inc_Descriptive_Report.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2020 Final Descriptive Evaluation</a> says the program “provides responsible fatherhood, healthy relationships, and economic stability services for low-income fathers residing in Suffolk and Nassau counties in Long Island, New York.”

Hayward made national headlines on January 3, 2023, when she branded Suffolk County police officers “murderers.” Her comments were in response to Stony Book Medical's announcement that two officers were in critical condition after sustaining stab wounds. The <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/01/02/stony-brook-prof-anna-hayward-blames-stabbed-cops-for-murder-of-their-attacker/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Post</a> said the officers “had responded to a call that the suspect was threatening his roommate with a fire extinguisher…when one of the men turned a knife on the officers.”

Hayward’s initial post and Twitter account have since been deleted.

In a statement to the <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/01/02/stony-brook-prof-anna-hayward-blames-stabbed-cops-for-murder-of-their-attacker/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Post</a>, Suffolk County Police Benevolent Associate Lou Civello said,

“‘While a Suffolk County Police Officer fights for his life after being stabbed in the neck an anti-police professor slanderously referred to him and his partner as murderers.”

He continued

“Stony Brook University Professor Dr. Anna Hayward displayed a stunning level of ignorance when she callously commented on Stony Brook’s official page denouncing the police and condemning the actions of these hero cops who stopped an armed criminal and saved others from harm.”

This study states that “white male privilege pervades the discipline of physics as well as the classrooms in which physics is taught and learned.&#8221;
Robertson also co-authored a study with Rev. W. Tali Hairston entitled, <a href="https://journals.aps.org/prper/pdf/10.1103/PhysRevPhysEducRes.18.010119" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Observing whiteness in introductory physics: A case study.&#8221;</a> Research analyses focused on unmasking “whiteness” in physical science programs with results showing physics degrees disproportionately conferred upon white students aged 20-24. Robertson and Hairston also “[focused] on the reproduction of whiteness in an introductory physics classroom.&#8221;

<a href="https://www.marymountcalifornia.edu/people/duncan-earle-ph-d/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Duncan Earle</a> is a Cultural Anthropologist and Professor of Global Studies at Marymount California University in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. He is further described in a university interview as a trained “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aq0p6l23aNo&amp;ab_channel=MarymountCaliforniaUniversity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mayan Shaman.</a>”

During lectures, Dr. Earle advocates further national lockdowns, praises Chinese-style authoritarianism, and even blames the COVID-19 pandemic on environmental damage. The class in question—slides of which were provided exclusively to the Professor Watchlist team by an anonymous source—is Dr. Earle's Cross-Cultural Leadership Seminar which is currently being taught in the Spring 2022 semester.

The introductory PowerPoint berates Americans for refusing to follow the “science” behind COVID-19 and greatly inflates the danger of the pandemic. In the second slide—titled “Nothing is Normal Now”—Dr. Earle erroneously claims that the Covid death count is worse than reported and predicts, with no evidence, that the next variant maybe “as deadly as Ebola”.

According to John Hopkins, the United States <a href="https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality" target="_blank" rel="noopener">has a mortality rate of 1.2% of those infected</a>. According to the CDC,<a href="https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#demographics" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> 93% of these deaths were individuals 50 and older</a>; the fatality rate is .8% for people aged 18 to 29 and virtually 0% for those under 18.

Furthermore, the <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/health_policy/covid19-comorbidity-expanded-12092020-508.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CDC has noted that only 6% of deaths list COVID as the only cause.</a> Over 75% of COVID deaths occur in patients <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/cdc-director-says-75-of-covid-19-deaths-had-four-or-more-comorbidities" target="_blank" rel="noopener">with 4 or more comorbidities</a>.

Dr. Earle nonetheless attempts to justify lockdowns, writing, “you cannot defeat the virus without closing the economy.”

A meta-analysis by Johns Hopkins found that <a href="https://sites.krieger.jhu.edu/iae/files/2022/01/A-Literature-Review-and-Meta-Analysis-of-the-Effects-of-Lockdowns-on-COVID-19-Mortality.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lockdowns may have only reduced COVID deaths by .2%</a> while causing spikes in <a href="https://fee.org/articles/domestic-violence-more-than-doubled-under-lockdowns-new-study-finds/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">domestic abuse, drug overdoses,</a> and <a href="https://fee.org/articles/youth-depression-suicide-increasing-during-pandemic-response/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">youth suicides</a>.

In other slides, Dr. Earle depicts Americans as “selfish” and “unpatriotic” individuals who adhere to “conspiracy theories” rather than COVID-19 guidelines.  He further lauds Dr. Fauci and condemns Americans who believe in “conspiracy theories” about him.

Dr. Earle is referring to allegations that <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/rand-paul-wuhan-documents-fauci-lied" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Fauci funded research at the Wuhan-based lab where COVID is suspected to have originated</a>. Documents obtained by <a href="https://theintercept.com/2021/09/06/new-details-emerge-about-coronavirus-research-at-chinese-lab/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Intercept</a> appear to contradict Dr. Fauci’s sworn testimony that the lab was never funded by the NIH under his direction.

Further slides blame the release of COVID on planetary abuse and that it is amplified by systemic racism.

After stating that America must achieve an 80% immunization rate to stop the pandemic—while everyone wears masks the entire duration—Dr. Earle claims natural immunity is inferior to the immunity provided via vaccination.

Despite his claims to the contrary, an Israeli study determined those with <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/312637">natural immunity were 27 times less likely to develop symptomatic COVID and 8 times less likely to be hospitalized with COVID than those who were vaccinated.</a>

During a follow-up exercise, Dr. Earle writes that following the pandemic, there is “no going back to normal.” Instead of going back to pre-Covid conditions, he advocates using the pandemic to combat white supremacy, climate change, and rampant consumerism.

Additional assignments are just as partisan as Dr. Earle’s lectures. A portion of one praises the Black Lives Matter movement and condemns conservative states that pass voter integrity laws as “Jim Crow 2.0.”

Prior to publication, the Professor Watchlist team reached out to Dr. Earle for comment. In his response, Dr. Earle asked for our professional qualifications, claimed it would be illegal to share information about his classroom, and accused the profile's author of being a “thief.” He declined to answer any of our questions, other than to claim that his materials are “highly documented” by “people who are experts in their fields.” His full response is included below.

“In a world where people are professional, the first thing they do is present themselves, their qualifications, and their interest in the enquiry [sic], and second explain where they have acquired proprietary information (which belongs to a private institution and is not free to the public, and so illegal to be shared), before attempting to interrogate me or anyone else on our expertise.  For the record, all my material, now dated, was highly documented by people who are expert in their fields, and if you were, you would not have to ask me.  So what are your qualifications, other than thief?”

Yankah</a> is a Professor of Law within the <a href="https://cardozo.yu.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cardozo Law School</a> at <a href="https://www.yu.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Yeshiva University</a> in New York City. According to his university profile, Dr. Yankah specializes in criminal law, criminal procedure, election law, and torts. He also serves as a member of the New York Democratic Lawyers Council, the Voting Rights Arm of the New York Democratic Party, and the Coordinating Arm of the DNC.
Dr. Yankah is best known for his article, “<a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/11/opinion/sunday/interracial-friendship-donald-trump.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Can My Children Be Friends With White People</a>?” In the piece, the professor encourages his children to shun any close friendships with white people.
The piece first appeared in the New York Times in 2017. With the first year of President Donald Trump’s administration as the backdrop, Dr. Yankah accused the president’s supporters of ignoring and even participating in Trump’s racial bigotry.
Dr. Yankah further writes that friendship across racial lines asks black people to ignore their own safety. He states bluntly that you cannot ignore someone who voted for Trump, and states that he simply cannot trust white people.

After expressing his utter contempt for white Trump voters who hide behind “everyday decency as a shield,” Dr. Yankah declares friendships with whites “impossible”. Due to their racial privilege—or what Dr. Yankah describes as, “due to conditions of dominance”—he further writes that history has provided little reason for people of color to trust white people.
Citing instances of brutality during the civil rights era, Dr. Yankah writes that as a father, his first priority is to keep his black sons safe. Therefore, he will teach them a “profound” friendship is impossible with white people due to their “rending, violent, and often fatal betrayal” by voting for Trump.
Dr. Yankah concludes that for these reasons and more, he teaches his children to have profound doubts as to whether or not friendship with white people is possible. He would subsequently appear on Tucker Carlson&#8217;s show in defense of his remarks.
